Yeah, I totally get what you're saying Wild-Child. The thing with me is if black people don't want white people to say it, they shouldn't use it themselves. I don't think any words should be 'race-specific' if you get what I mean. If they think it's derogatary they shouldn't use it themselves, what u reckon?

I totally agree the teacher shouldn't have said it. But if it's being used in a no racial context then white people shouldn't be excluded from using it. If you say 'whites can't use it' then you are making it racial. All or nothing IMO

I think it was just a very bad misjudgement. If the kid had said it just before him, it just seems like he is trying to fit in. He might be one of those teachers that does it with other words, maybe just slipped his mind how controversial that one would be. I think if black kids are allowed to use it as throwaway slang for friend, then white people should be able to as well.

I don't see what the fuss is about. If we claim Will is concentrating on movies so much, he should at least be winning them, not presenting them. IMO it's nothing to be proud of 'presenting an oscar'.... ohhhh that's a step in the right direction...

So what if they didn't show it? They're there to make money, if they thought the optimum business decision was to show an alternative (and hopefully get more money) then I say fair play... by the way that's not to say that's what I would have done if I was in charge, just a different viewpoint...maybe they made the wrong decision
