  1. I picked up 2Pac's new album "Loyal To The Game" 2day and i'm highly disappointed. Eminem has simply ruined it. Most of 2Pac's trax chosen 4 this album are from the 1993/1994 era. Alot of the last few featured alot of trax that he did on Deathrow simply 2 fulfill his contract and get off the label (which he wasn't happy on). Sadly, that resulted in trax that didn't mean much. Alot of so-called 2Pac fans don't know what he's really about cuz of the Deathrow stuff. Anyways, his subject matter is dope on this album and they lyrics great. Eminem however runined the album. He sucks at producing!! The beats are so boring, trendy, empty. 2Pac would have never rhymed over these beats!! They don't represent him at all!! Why would Afeni let Em mess with 2Pac's legacy. What's worse is that Eminem put himself and his no-talent friends like G-Unit, Obie Trice, and G-Unit on the album. 2Pac would probably never worked with those fools if he waz still around...in fact, he'd probably diss their wack-selves. Eminem claims 2 be a fan of 2Pac's...DID HE NOT HEAR HIS MUSIC!?!?!?!? What an idiot!! The "Bonus Tracks" at the end of the album are the saving grace. They are much closer 2 the sound 2Pac would have had. The album cover is dope tho'...no smoke, guns wack-Westside signs thrown up or anything. Just a nice pic of 2Pac in white clothing, gold classes and minor jewelry (from the Me Against The World era). I really wanna hear the opinions of others who are 2Pac fans. I for 1, and highly disappointed in what Eminem has done with his work. The original production is probably much better than the current empty, boring stuff Em put under it.
  2. 2PAC + DIDO - Don't You Trust Me This is one of the better trax off the new album.
  3. Just a reminder...I, Robot waz released on DVD 2day. The extras kinda suck, but at least it has a Making of... featurette on it. It's available in both Full Screen and Wide Screen. It'll be on sale in most locations thru' Saturday. It's on sale for $15 at both Circuit City and Wal-Mart right now.
  4. Man, FP has been unstoppable for the past year and a half!! I can't wait 2 pick up Sharktale. Looks i'll be spending lots of money in the upcoming months. Hopefully alot of it is going in2 his pockets.
  5. FP usually cordinates his gear with the track...for instance, "...Jiggy..." waz a fly dance track and video features trendy styles cloths and elaborate costumes. "...Two of Us" waz a heartfelt soulful joint and FP waz rockin' smooth, dressy casual earth tones. "So Fresh" waz old skool and he grew a full-out hightop fade again 4 the video!!
  6. Where were all this Nick Cannon fans when i waz being attacked 4 likin' him?!?!
  7. I don't mind the...um...."crunk" sound when it's done right. Some of those beats have the same kinda vibe as early Hip-Hop stuff like "Planet Rock." That "crunk" sound isn't the only sound comin' out of the dirty south. I like beats like Usher's "Yeah" and TLC's "Come Get Some" but when u hear a song like that 100 times (like "Yeah" it gets old pretty quick). I think any album or artist that relies on that sound 2 much is kinda pathetic tho.' For instance, Ciera's "Goodies" waz an okay song...but the beat is disposable (and has her really having 2 prove her vocal talents). Here new joint proves she can handle a different less trendy sound but it hasn't proved anything in the vocal area (i haven't heard her album). I knew about Lil' Jon since the early 90's when he did alot of bass stuff working under Jermaine Dupri. He dose have talent...but his obnoxious vocal style and trendy sound is what got him popular. He dose prove he still has talent when u hear Usher's "Red Light" and that new track he did with Usher and Ludacris. It's his signature style without the disposable, trendy "crunk" sound. I think the whole misusing the word "crunk" is really silly 2. I used 2 use it back in the mid-90's cuz T-Boz (from ATL) used it as a way 2 say something waz crazy and wild and it waz kinda funny. Now the whole "dirty south" rap style that has embraced the word has made it have no meaning at all. Just like the word "hate" and "murder"...those words mean nothing anymore cuz ignorant fools have blew them up and misused them so much. By the way, couldn't hear your beat.
  8. I just got a butt-load of CD Promo singles...some new, some old, some rare, some unreleased. Here's a list of the trax i got them 4... EN VOGUE - Whatever (Radio Remix) feat. ODB FABOLOUS, JAGGED EDGE, PUFFY - Trade It All DEBELAH MORGAN - I Remember BRIAN MCKNIGHT - Anytime (Mr. Mig Radio Edit) BUSTA RHYMES - Do My Thing (Radio Remix) BLAQUE - Can't Get It Back DR. DRE - Been There Done That (Radio Edit) DR. DRE - Let Me Ride (Radio Mix) - alternate clean lyrics DRU HILL - 5 Steps (Radio Edit) LL COOL J + DR. DRE - Zoom (Radio Edit) BOYZ II MEN - The Color of Love (Radio Edit) BOYZ II MEN + FAITH - Relax Your Mind (Radio Edit)
  9. Man, i SUCK at math. 2 me, u only need basic math in life 2 get by. I'll never go in2 a field of work where i'll be answering something like "Z= a/5 x 5.67 x(bc - 976/43) - 483769405...solve for a." If u are okay in math, just push thru' and stay focused. I waz always a notoriously average student and while i usually did good in English, computer classes, and especially art-related classes, i ALWAYS stuggled and often did average (or less) in math and science classes. As a college student, i'm telling u 2 stay focused and learn all u can when it comes 2 that stuff. As u get older, u get more stuborn and it gets harder 2 learn. U don't wanna waste time in classes when u are an adult who can chose 2 do something else. On top of that, doing bad in classes NOW will make u have 2 take many more in college which means alot of wasted time and money. I failed my math class this semester which means i just threw $400 out the window. Just do your best and stay determined.
  10. Thanx 4 those!! Something is kinda funny about seeing FP dress like that.
  11. The thing is...i have a feeling most of FP's unreleased stuff is very dope. I'm not saying that cuz he's my favorite emcee...i just have a strong feeling that most of has 2 be insanely ill. Look at the JJ+FP and WS b-sides...New Kids On The Block, From Da South, Get Hyped, Holla Back....all very good. Better than some of the trax on their respective albums.
  12. I think the vocal sample waz a really cool idea. The beat is nice, tho' it's been done 100 times b4. His skillz are average...lyrics less than average, and attitude, annoying.
  13. Me and my potna in crime did a video like that 2 Snow's "Informer" back in 1993. I HAD 2 lipsync Snow's part cuz my friend couldn't keep up with the lyrics...he did MC Shan's verse of course.
  14. i used to watch nick cannon on nickalodeon when i was little, but i haven't followed up on his album? is it any good? There's some people on this board that hate his music (most of them i'm sure haven't really even heard it). I got his album and i love it. Slick mainstream production and positive, clean, sometimes deep, sometimes funny lyrics. He brings ALOT of the same flava that emcees had in the late 80's and early 90's but with a new skool twist. I never watched his stuff on TV so i heard the music 4 what it waz...which is probably a good thing. His album came out about a year ago...i don't see how it can be considered old school. :kekeke:
  15. That is one of my favorite trax by them. Not only cuz the song is dope...but it's another one of those songs i can relate 2 and wish i didn't. Right now i'm listening 2... DESTINY'S CHILD - Why You Actin' (A mid-tempo jam b-side off the Australian version of the "Lose My Breath" CD single). Good song, but i see why it didn't make the album compared 2 the other trax.
  16. Those pix are simply amazing!!! Thanx 4 sharing them!!!! Make sure they end up in the picture gallery of this site!!
  17. BRIAN MCKNIGHT - Thinkin' 'Bout Me This song is amazing. It's off the Nutty Professor II soundtrack. When i heard the song, i nearly pulled my car over 2 the side of the road cuz it hit me so hard. His man read my mind when it comes 2 something i've gone thru' kinda recently.
  18. 1. The 'Face The Nation' album cover dosen't really look serious. It has those grainy black and white pic of them in the background...but the fellas are decked out in early 90's fly gear just posing with Kid about 2 catch a basketball makin' a crazy face...i wouldn't call that serious. 2. They have 3 studio albums: 2 Hype, Funhouse, and Face The Nation. The House Party 3 soundtrack has like 5 trax by them on it which are incredible. They sound alot like JJ+FP did at that tyme. 3. These days Play is busy doing things at his church and has alot of Hip-Hop-Christian projects (music, plays, etc). Kid has done alot of TV acting and show hosting. In 2000 he waz working on new music with old skooler Def Jef but later desided not 2 do anything with it. They say that they don't have any future plans but that maybe in the future, if they got a good script 4 something, they'd do a movie 2gether.
  19. It's amazing how a music style can go from a place where cussing is used sparingly 2 be all over the music. I think it's insanely 1-sided now. It's hard 4 me 2 listen 2 music with alot of cussing cuz it simply annoys me. There's no excuse 2 be that vulgar...4 real. It goes beyond cussing tho'...it's not so bad if it goes along with what the artist is trying 2 say. If they have something intellegent, that's all that really matters. However, excessive cussing kinda filters out any intellegence that could be there in the 1st place. Anyways, WildWildWillennium listed the biggest players who keep it clean (at least 4 the most part) and respectful. I really hope that the commercial side of Hip-Hop goes thru' a change where there are some guys out there keepin' it clean who get respect and sales. LL Cool J and Fresh Prince are really the only ones who've managed 2 pull it off. MC Hammer, Young MC, and Biz Markie have all released albums in recent years and they get no support. Nick Cannan pulled off moderate success, but that's about it. Mase is has done alright with his clean comeback.
  20. I'll scan my one "Lovely Daze" import single cover sometime soon. That's what pic they used 4 the cover...and of course it's in color.
  21. CHRISTINA MILIAN - Get Loose Fly R-N-B/Dance Hip-Hop flava'd track off her latest album.
  22. I really really really wanna be wrong on this...but i have a feeling he waz meaning that they were working 2gether on FP's new "solo" album.
  23. I hate 2 say it, but there's a chance u are gonna run in2 stuff like this a few times in life. Not 2 knock anyone's dreams of finding that perfect person when u are young...but don't even say u think someone is "the one" until u are like 20-something. When i waz 18 i had a girl do similar things 2 me...execpt it lasted nearly a year. After are final break, i just surrounded myself in friends and realized just how good i had it. Of course shortly afterwards, she wanted me back but i never did go back. I eventually hooked up with another girl a few months later (even tho' a part of my young heart waz still with this other girl). It's funny, cuz this past summer (6 years after all that drama), we ran in2 each other at a bar where my friend's band plays. She of course waz all over me and trying 2 get back with me. I flirted a lil' but would never go back 2 her. We can always be friends. The girl i got with waz even worse than the one i just talked about. This girl waz very 'hood...very ghetto, which waz what i needed. I came up in a very 'hood upbringing and for that year or so, i had kinda gotten away from that. So this next girl waz very 'hood which waz just a very familiar thing 2 me. However, after about a year, she really screwed my life up in ways i won't dare imagin. I believe in giving people a 2nd chance even tho' that's very risky. Things eventually got better...but about a year after that, just when things finally felt perfect and i waz thinking about the next level, she messed up again. How would u feel throwing 3 years down the drain!!! My point is this, as much as u can fall 4 someone, never sell yourself out. U don't wanna come out of a relationship saying 2 yourself "man, i wish i would have done this when i waz with her." Never desided 2 NOT do something u wanna do 4 a girl (unless it's reasonable) cuz u could be missing some amazing things in life just 2 keep her happy. Whenever i've had a girl leave me or loose interest in me, i've never missed a beat. It might hurt, but i just keep movin' on, hanging out with other friends. Waiting around and being upset is just silly. If u wanna feel alot better about yourself, IM me and i'll tell u my biggest heartache of all. It's amazing how things can be perfect and next thing u know, a girl who u thought waz so respectable and flawless can pull some Jerry Springer type stuff 2 make your whole world crazy. This event is barely over a year old and i still think about this girl everyday...and let's just say she's living a lie and that ALOT of people in our circle of friends know it. Girls are crazy and lots of the time, they make stupid decisions when it comes 2 guys (no offense ladies). That's just the way it is.
  24. I think Jermaine Dupri is one of the most underrated and misunderstood people in Hip-Hop. U don't have 2 love him, but he's got lots of old skool ties and high standards 4 production which u don't find anymore. I'm very excited 2 hear the track. TLC and Run-DMC have both basically retired as groups...so i think this a perfect event for them 2 do something. Both have ties 2 So So Def camp so it makes sense. Usher, well, he's only one of the biggest superstars in the world right now....u can't go wrong there (hate on him if u really feel it's necessary). He states that it would be pretty much impossible 2 recreate a song like that, but he seems 2 have HUGE plans 4 it. JD masterminded that 'What's Goin' On" remake in 2001 and if it's anything like that, i totally support him.
