  1. RUN-DMC - Pause Classic party joint. I'm familiar with about 3 track off their Back From Hell album, but i just recently got it. It's crazy hearing Run-DMC stuff that i wazn't that familiar with. The early 90's is one of my favorite eras of music and Run-DMC really stepped outta their comfort zone on this album.
  2. U always gotta put words in peoples' mouths. Neither of us said that. However, generally, people who are in2 true-skool Hip-Hop tend 2 have similar opinions as we do. And why do we always get called out when most of the other people who have spoke on the topic agree with us!? The people who actually think 2Pac waz done right on the production tip for Loyal To The Game are, like u, are fans of Eminem, G-Unit, and all that stuff. Their standards have nothing 2 do with real Hip-Hop...just commerical radio crap.
  3. There isn't really an excuse 2 just download the albums. People who say they are hard 2 get aren't looking hard enuff. It took me years 2 find some of the JJ+FP stuff i have, but it's cuz i put time in2 looking 4 it and the money 2 get it.
  4. The group went 3 ways and they all carried an equal amount. Aside from being the beatbox of the group, he co-wrote some of the songs, he waz a dancer, and kinda even a hype man. Ready Rock C put in crazy work and is one of the most overylooked and underrated people in old skool Hip-Hop history. People down with Hip-Hop back then know how important he is 2 pioneering the music.
  5. It's hard 2 imagin that an earthquake and some tidal waves can do so much...and that they can be that intense. We truly are in the end times (don't let that come off makin' me sound like Daedulus).
  6. Come on now...don't even suggest downloading!! :daedulus: People on this board will help u out as well. If u want, i can look around where i live and let u know how much it'll cost 2 buy u a copy and send it. U can ask Tim, Wes, Jim, 3Cookies....i'm good on my word. I've hooked them all up with stuff.
  7. Yeah, that's awful. That news is very depressing. One of my friends is doing missionary work there and nobody can get a hold of her. It's kinda scary. I'm praying 4 eveyone effected by that.
  8. TALIB KWELI - Around My Way Amazing song...one of the best Hip-Hop songs ever recorded...no exageration.
  9. Pain always sticks out most at Christmas time. Since it's supposed 2 be one of the happiest times of the year, the littlest thing in life stands out twice as big if it's not good. I myself have a few things that made it a lil' hard, but the beauty of the season and of what it's really all about have kept me pretty strong...let me rephrase that, VERY STRONG. I'm sorry 2 hear about your loss Julie. I send my prayers out 2 your family. Just stay strong and keep faith that it isn't the last time u have 2 see him. This world is just a distraction 2 better things that are yet 2 come...and Christmas is a big part of that.
  10. The thing with LL is, he dose well without keeping his albums in the top 10. It's kinda funny, that's what he's done with the last few. The last album he really promoted with waz Mr. Smith...which did insanely well. He's starting 2 follow the FP formula by letting his albums survive on their own 2 juggle his family and movie career at the same time.
  11. The CD is trash...unless u gotta own everything, don't get it. It came out in 1999 or 2000. I made the mistake of purchasing Maximum TLC CD which featured alot of incorrect info by annoying narrorators over cheaply produced music. The only saving grace waz the rare pix in the insert and the very short interviews by the girls in the beginning of the trax (some of them being common and heard 100 times b4). So when Maximum Will Smith came out, i didn't get it. However, a few months later i found it for only $3 so i got it. The CD is just as awful as the TLC one i got. However, on FP's, some of his short interviews are over the phone, very pointless, and at some parts, nearly impossible 2 understand cuz they are so poor quality.
  12. It's kinda a silly move, cuz if FP is putting himself out on Overbrook thru' Interscope, he's putting alot of his own money in2 the album and taking a few risks...however, it also allows him more control. As long as the album dose well and gets out there, i'll be happy.
  13. I remember an episode from the 1st season where they diss rappers who were getting alot of success and they took a cut-out of FP and tossed him in some portal or something...along with Puffy and Mase. I laffed but i waz mad at their point...and that they put him in the same category as Puffy and Mase. I remember another episode refurring 2 him but i don't think i've seen the one u are talking about.
  14. That's the track i waz telling u about when u finally got back online. It's off the Japan version of JJ+FP "Greatest Hits." They track waz recorded in 1993 (probably) but it dosen't sound like a Code Red lost track (which isn't a bad thing). It waz produced by Hula + K. Fingers (Summertime, I'm Looking For The One (To Be With Me), etc) and FP is just lettin' the rhymes flow on this one. It's a kinda different kinda track.
  15. Don't get things twisted...keep in mind u are reading the side of the story. Ready Rock C is very sensitive about the situation. I've talked 2 MANY people who have worked with FP (including DJ Jazzy Jeff and A Touch of Jazz producers who did alot of work on Big Willie Style and Willennium) and they all say FP is the perfect example of what u see is what u get. When u hear him in his music or see him in an interview, u are getting the same person u would get if u met him face 2 face. Think about it, if he waz frontin' his career would have fallen apart years ago. It's just one of those things that happened YEARS ago. They were young and still growing up. There's no reason 2 go back 2 that time and talk about a yucky situation like that.
  16. I saw Fat Albert 2nite...AND I LOVED IT. I grew up on the cartoon so it waz hilarious seeing it finally on film...YEARS after it's been off the air. It waz kinda strange in the beginning cuz there's a kiddy factor and a cheezy factor 2 the movie, but it's there on purpose. Shortly after it started, i got pulled in and loved it. It's just a feel-good kinda movie and the soundtrack is gonna be the jam (whenever it comes out). The people in the theater reacted pretty good 2 the movie. It waz pretty packed and most of of the audeince waz in their 20's and 30's with a handful exceptions. If u were a fan of Fat Albert back in the day, or like the trailor, check the movie!! More movies like this need success. It's just a feel-good time with a family kinda feel and tons of querky comedy.
  17. I got a huge family and got a bunch of stuff i wanted... A digital camera w/ printer A teeny booper magazine from 1999 that has a page on FP Cloths of course (my fav being a shirt that say "I Do All My Own Stunts") MUSIC Marvin Gaye - The Millenium Collection Vol. 2 (The 70's) BLACKstreet - The Millenium Collection Run-DMC - Tougher Than Leather De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising (Special Edition with bonus disc of b-sides and remixes from 1989/1990!) Boyz II Men - Legacy: Deluxe Edition (w/ bonus disc of b-sides and remixes) MOVIES Independence Day (New Limited Edition w/ 9 minutes of newly restored footage Jersey Girl (with FP's cameo...never seen it b4 until 2nite!!) Life (feat. Martin Lawrence + Eddie Murphy) Baby Boy (feat. Tyrese + Snoop Dogg) You Got Served (feat. Marques 'Batman' Houston + B2K) Honey
  18. Looking at the movie, being a romantic comedy that has "Will Smith" as the star, i'm thinkin' it'll be mostly and R-N-B soundtrack with a dash of Hip-Hop. I'm going on absolutly nothing more than that tho.' As long as the song isn't related 2 the movie, i'm up 4 a new song (who isn't?). I kinda have the feeling the album won't be out by then anyway.
  19. Hey, i think Chingy is pretty wack, but i think it's important 2 give anything a chance. And since it features Janet Jackson, i wanna hear the song myself. kbfprince, my mom has the NSYNC Christmas album. While i never be an NSYNC fan, since i no longer dispise Justin Timberlake, i may give the album a listen. I have the TRL Christmas album and there's an NSYNC song called something like "I Don't Wanna Be Along On Christmas" or something...i gave it a listen 2 days ago and i actually like the song. Don't get it twisted y'all, i'm not gonna be doing the "Bye Bye Bye" dance any time soon. Right now i'm listening 2 Jessica Simpson's "The Christmas Song."
  20. Sorry, i thought that statement waz made towards the beat Eminem put 2gether. I think the song "Ghetto Gospel" is amazing...but when i compare those trax produced by Rapheal Saddiq and Scott Storch 2 Eminem's, it disappoints me cuz even in all it's dopeness...the song could be more powerful. The only thing that bugs me is the weak synth line on it....if a real producer got his hands on the track, i think it'd be on the same level of "Changes."
  21. They only have the one Christmas album. Since they have total control over their careers now, i wouldn't be surprised if they did another in a few years. They did that episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back when the album 1st came out. "Let It Snow" and "Silent Night" from the show are both on the album (4 those that didn't know). They did collaborate on Brian McKnight's 1998 Christmas album for "Let It Snow '98." Since Brian McKnight worked on their Christmas album, it waz only right 4 the Boyz 2 pop up on his 2 remake the classic they created in 1993.
  22. January is what he waz aiming for...but it's not looking good. There hasn't been any news on the album or single in a long time.
  23. Design-wise, i don't have any ideas...but i also haven't tried brainstorming anything yet. However, if u'd like some updates on the content (lyrics, discography, etc), i'd be happy 2 put work in 4 that. Since i doubt i'll ever get 2 put 2gether the JJ+FP site i've always wanted 2 put 2gether, i'll see if i can't type up some rare interviews and things like that i've always had but have been holding back on. I just ask that i'll get credit 4 whatever i donate towards the site. Something like "Compiled by AJ Blackstock" or "Typed up by AJ Blackstock" is all i ask.
