  1. Opps! I just noticed that it said "Fluid" near the end of the post. I don't have 2 work that day, and i'm gonna request off the next day cuz i really wanna go.
  2. 1996 is what gave it some fresh air tho.' The last quarter of had A Tribe Called Quest, Digital Underground, De La Soul, Nas (before the Escobar crap), Busta Rhymes, The Fugees, and a few other artists came out over shadowing the gangsta rap and gangsta wannabees. There waz non-mainstream success with other real emcees at the time as well. 1993 thru' the middle of 1996 seemed like the hopeless years until those acts i mentioned above returned. In these days of D12, Chingy, Lil' Wayne, Eminem, 50 Cent, Petey Pablo, G-Unit, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Terror Squad, Ja-Rule, Nelly, and so on, i LOOOOOOOOONG for 1996.
  3. I chose the ones i did cuz i think it's important 2 put something on their from each era...all the way from Rock The House 2 Willennium. And 2 make sure they were trax that had both DJ Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince on 'em.
  4. Thanx!! I didn't know they were on/in the upcoming issue. I'll be sure 2 pick it when i see it on shelves.
  5. Thanx 4 the feedback. I really just threw that 2gether in like 20 minutes as a joke. After being disappointed in Mos Def's direction on The New Danger, it made me think about all the highly anticipated Hip-Hop albums that took all kinds of twists and turns that left fans scratching their heads.
  6. Yeah, i love the movie Honey. Right now i'm listening 2... KIRK FRANKLIN + TOBY MAC - Throw Ya Hands Up
  7. Your statement reminds me of one of Skee-Lo's lines on his I Can't Stop album. He jokes about saying he wants 2 put out his album..."not a rap mixtape / with a bunch of other artists, i can hold my weight." I like Montell Jordan's idea of an album focusing on the artist and that collabo songs should be done for stuff like soundtracks. Collabos used 2 be rare occasion and usually were great songs. Since the late-90's...everybody had tons of collabos which is just lazy. They just want the other artists 2 attract sales they normally wouldn't get and have 2 put less of themselves in the music. It's quite depressing.
  8. Pants...so...tight...::gasp::....Can't...hardly....walk...
  9. What is this Hello! magazine anyway? Is it just some stupid magazine that nobody cares about? If so, i'll ignore it. However, if it's a well respected magazine, i'll make sure i vote every time i check the board.
  10. Not very interesting...but THANX! I think FP kinda lost focus and interest in all that stuff but will get back in2 when he's older.
  11. Yeah, my motivation 4 getting it is that they just recently released the special edition which is remastered and i think it has some other bonus stuff.
  12. I wouldn't call him disillusioned...cuz he waz right...Rap sucked. Everybody waz tryna be gangsta. Who can admire that?!? It looked like Hip-Hop didn't have a chance. It got a 2nd wind in '96 thru' A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Nas, Busta Rhymes, and so on...which motivated FP 2 come back...but since then it fell back in2 it's pattern of negative, foul-mouth, ignorant, cookie-cutter, greedy fools who get signed 2 big labels while the old skool, creative, and talented people suffer on small labels and nearly no chance 2 break out. But FP has always stayed true himself and he's never fallen in2 a sell-out, trendy pattern of mainstream Hip-Hop. That's why he'll always be my favorite emcee.
  13. I'm giving it a chance...but i still have a problem with the fact that he'd work with him when their are other artists that are much more worthy and talented than people like Petey Pablo.
  14. A Touch of Jazz Brand New Funk I Wanna Rock It's All Good Potnas
  15. Those 1st 2 kinda look like his reaction 2 hearing the new Eminem album, then cuttin' his eyes at the camera. :hilarious:
  16. :speechless: I meant 2 say that the fans of the other celebs were dedicated and sitting in front of their computers voting 4 their fav celeb over and over again and that FP's fans don't know about it and certainly aren't wasting hours at a time voting 4 him. Something ain't right, FP has alot of qualities that females respond 2, so 4 those ugly cats 2 be ahead of him so far in the poll is rediculous. I guess we need 2 be pathetic and do the same thing.
  17. EPMD's "Strictly Business" is great!! Eric B. + Rakim's "Paid In Full" is one of the most important albums ever recorded. I have a double disc version of it put out in the late 90's that features remixes that were only available on vinyl at the time of the album's run. I don't have KRS-One's "Return of The Boom Bap" but my cousin has it and back in the day, we listened 2 it alot. I've been meaning 2 catch up on my KRS-One collection 4ever. The only album i'm not familiar with is Ultramagnetic MC's "Critical Beatdown." They recently released a special edition of this album and i've been meaning 2 get it cuz i know it's a classic.
  18. YOLANDA ADAMS - Open My Heart Beautiful song.
  19. Well, he my be doing Hollywood stuff or with family...but who knows. It would freak if i do get 2 go and he shows up. I could see FP playing all this pranks on Jeff and making old-jokes about him. If i go, i better bring Fart Spray. That'll be my present 2 Jeff. Maybe he'll be so impressed with my sense of humor that we'll cut a record 2gether.
  20. Yeah, the motivation he got back in 1996 and 1997 2 do music again has since disappeared. If he never did Big Willie Style, i don't think he would have gotten the motivation 2 keep recording. Unless he's trying 2 be a musical savior, the mainstream side of Rap music is dead and has been 4 awhile. Acts like Black Eyed Peas are the only ones being real and making good music.
  21. Yes, i must admit that i went over there and voted da 'Prince as the sexiest man. :hilarious: What kinda garbage poll is that?!? There are some ugly and washed up guys there, i can't see why FP is last. I'm guessing there are some dedicated that are wasting their time by voting 4 the same person over and over again.
  22. Very nice...i haven't gone there in awhile.
