ALVIN + THE CHIPMUNKS - Men In Black The A Files (1998) Usually The Chipmunks give the original artist a run 4 their money when they cover their songs...but not in this case. I really think Kanye West should do a colabo with them since he speeds up all his samples. Alvin probably only wants 2 work with true wordsmiths tho.'

What is the best album to get?
JumpinJack AJ replied to JJMarsh's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
While each album is totally JJ+FP and has multi-flavas...especially as time went on, i'd go by the vibe each album has... ROCK THE HOUSE (1987) - straight old school HE'S THE DJ, I'M THE RAPPER - classic golden age Hip-Hop AND IN THIS CORNER... - late 89's, high energy, experimental Hip-Hip HOMEBASE - Hip-Hop mixed with a dash of club music...personification of early 90's CODE RED - laid back, straight Hip-Hip 4 the 90's -
Mary J. Blidge goes #1 on Billboard last week
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
That Mary J album is dope. I wish is waz a bit grittier, but i love it. I could see "Tell Me Why" getting an extra push since her new album just came out. Let's hope for the best. I STILL haven't gotten Jamie Foxx's album. I think i'll get it 2day. I actually loved his 1st album but i never got it. Now u can find it on ebay for LOTS and LOTS of money. I actually have taped performances of him when he waz sining love on The Arsenio Hall Show back in the mid-90's. -
Weird Al is hilarious. I got the album this track waz on back in 2003. Weird Al rides the beat better than Nelly.

Of all the entertainers out there, she definitly deserves one. I love seeing Hip-Hop on the Walk of Fame.

I got some news from an inside source that i want 2 share. Those of u who have been around 4 awhile know u can trust me...those who aren't...u'll just have 2 take my word on this. FP is putting 2gether a compilation album that will feature a wide array of Hip-Hop, R-N-B, and Reggae artists. The over all theme will be a promoting positive, quality music in attempt 2 weaken the garbage on the radio. Kel Spencer will be on the album and writing 4 it. This source also said that FP still has at least a few laps left in his music career. Also, FP has some cameos in Kel Spencer's upcoming video. I don't know about u, but i'm excited about this project. We gotta do all we can 2 get the word out there and make this BIG.

ASHANTI + FREE - Focus (Remix) Collectables By Ashanti (2005) Good commercial R-N-B...but since i've recently picked up Goapele's new album...it's leaving Ashanti in the dust.

The destruction of Party Starter
JumpinJack AJ replied to thachief's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
"Switch" is dope and waz a great single choice. After all, look what it's done. "Party Starter" waz a great choice 2, but they took 2 long 2 release it. Radio and TV have turned their shoulder on it 4 no reason. There's no other reason why the song hasn't hit the way it should have. -
I think a JJ+FP album would do great. Since certain music fans stay away from FP's solo stuff, it makes some people that no one would be checking 4 their music. But i don't thinkt that's true. People of all ages and backgrounds respect JJ+FP. They just haven't had a way 2 support them as a group for over 10 years. I think the success of the album would surprise alot of people. And Jazzy has no problem with being in the limelight. While he's doing his solo albums, mixtapes, touring, he dose them in a low key kinda way. He makes that choice. With JJ+FP, he's not a solo artist which is where he sits back and lets FP control the crowd. JJ+FP may be more marketable, but he uses that as his way 2 say low key 2 the masses....cuz we all know FP draws in all the energy he can.

I don't really look at any of my aspirations are considered Shadow Dreams cuz i just look at them as goals, which i do think will come 2 pass. I guess i'm just ready 2 get my own place and a new car sometime this year. Today marks a full year of being single for me. I've had some experimenting in the mean time...and i'm anxious 2 see how that is gonna work out. I plan on succeeding in my job and and getting promoted. I plan on strengthing myself spiritually. I guess most of my Shadow Dreams are just goals which i easily seeing come 2 pass. Maybe if i start writing alot or wanna take my acting 2 the next level, that would be a Shadow Dream, but that just hasn't been my passion 4 awhile.

On a positive note, one of my friends is back from Iraq...4 GOOD!! He waz supposed 2 get back in town sometime next month. But the day b4 Christmas, i waz at work. One of my frineds (his girlfriend) just stood in the door way of the back room. I walked out 2 say hi and she pointed 2 my left. I turned my head and there he waz. I gave him a huge brotherly hug and felt alot of stress lift off my shoulders. I just wanted 2 share this with everyone. This is also the same person who's mother died after surgery, just after he had a 2 week break from Iraq...and got back in town just in time 2 see her b4 she passed. He's doing great tho.'

The worst roles acted by rappers on the big screen!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Damian's topic in Will Smith Movies
I love The Legend of Bagger Vance. That movie is just deep, and FP bring the whole thing 2gether. I haven't really seen most of the movies on that list. FP and LL are the only real actors on the list anyways...and they are at the bottom. -
"If U Can't Dance (Slide)" is one of the best songs on the album. It's got so much potential on so many levels I'd love 2 see it as a video/single. That dosen't mean i don't wanna see "Tell Me Why" tho.'

I don't care if FP or anyone else likes Ludacris. I just don't think he's talented. I could never call his lyrics Hip-Hop...or even good. His music simply isn't good. It dosen't even remotely stimulate my mind. Yes, i do prefer positive Hip-Hop without the cussing...but that doesn't mean my taste is limited 2 that. I love Eminem's 1st album. It waz explict and it waz smart. The beats were dope. Ludacris' beats are trash 2 me and i've never liked his voice or lyrics. It's just my opinion....nothing 2 stress 2 much. But i can't take him 2 seriously about getting all upset with Oprah. He talkes about money and ho's in his lyrics...so why is he complaining is Oprah attacks his music. It's not like he has a good reason 2 defend his music. It's just not respectable. Oprah isn't exactly hood...so i'm not gonna care if she tears him down. She dose more 4 people then Ludacris will ever do.

DRU HILL - Hits (da album)
-
I've always wanted 2 get in2 this guys music. I'll have 2 check it out.
-
I think it's messed up that Oprah edited what waz said, but that's what post-production is about. I have a few friends who work for various TV and cable productions. I've worked behind the scenes and i've done stuff like local commericals. It's amazing how much stuff gets taped compared 2 what ends up on TV. So it may not have even been intentional. But when it comes 2 Ludacris, i think his lyrics are crap. His voice and most of his music is just annoying 2 me. I've even seen him live and it nearly put me sleep. This may be my opinion...but Ludacris sucks. And Oprah sounds like she waz taking my side. So she can diss his music all she wants in my book.

Putting up album music 2 download is just ignorant.
