  1. Actually, i would credit Too Short and Ice-T for the origial "pimp lifestyle" in Hip-Hop. Ice-T dosen't get nearly enough respect 4 what he's done. Sure, the OG style and pimp style blew up in the 2 the trash we ONLY hear about on the radio 2day...but he's definitly a pioneer in Hip-Hop. Bottom line, there shouldn't be any girls acting the way they do in Nelly and 50 Cent videos. It's not only disrespectful, it's actually really gross. When u see LL Cool J's music videos, the girls are actually gorgous and 95% of the time, it's tastefull. But most of these new rappers got girls doing stuff that probably has their parents holding a gun 2 their own head when they see the video. On top of that, the girls aren't even cute. And the whole gangsta rap thing has been played out for over 10 years and phoney pimp lifestyle has been dead for at least 8 years. It's time that the people who listen 2 the radio and buy these albums commercially realize they are buying poison and dumbing themselves down.
  2. CALVIN RICHARDSON - Nightmare (Her Love) Country Boy (1998) This album came out in 1998...i didn't even hear about this guy until his 2nd album came around. I just picked this up last week and it's amazing. I'm really missing 90's R-N-B at the moment.
  3. Since Sonic put up the pic of him holding money...i gotta put up this picture of me and my boy Russ holding up money....old school style. We did a rock and roll review. During the intro medley, me and him bum rushed the stage during Run-DMC's "It's Tricky" and did some rough break dancing, old school dancing, and dumb dancing. This pic is of us back stage...and yes, i waz making a silly face on purpose.
  4. This sounds interesting. I can't wait 2 see this. And it's about time this album came out. It took nearly as long as Crown Royal did 2 come out. Years ago, he said it would be a mix of Hip-Hop, Rock, and acoustic folk music. Since his voice has lost nearly all of it's power, i have no idea what it's gonna sound like. I'm definitly getting it tho.' I sure i'll like it just as much as Run's album. I'm not always in the mood 4 it...but when i am, it's just what i need.
  5. Thanx for that. It pains me 2 know that there is no more Pete Rock + CL Smooth. I waz just listening 2 the trax they did on Soul Survior II just last week. And a few weeks ago, i got their 2003 Greatest Hits album.
  6. I love Snoop, but Spike Lee has some good points. Occasionally Spike Lee says something that gets on my nerves...but 4 the most part he's on point. Snoop dose have other sides 2 him, but the whole gangsta thing is what most know him 4.
  7. They are both hilarious. If we are talking about the show, then i gotta go with Jazz. Think about it, nearly even single line he ever said on the show waz funny.
  8. It would be ill if they recorded this and released a box set of the event.
  9. I had 2 go with "Trapped On The Dance Floor." Jazzy kills it. However, in true Jazzy Jeff fasion, i think he's more at home on "This Boy Is Smooth." His funniest verse is definitly "Men of Your Dreams." I can't see why so many people went with "Don't Even Try It"...he barely even gets that verse started on time with the beat...ha ha.
  10. PUBLIC ENEMY - New Whirl Oder (da album) (2005)
  11. The gas face is something the group 3rd Bass came up with. Let's just say it's a way 2 show displeasure 2 someone.
  12. DE LA SOUL - Much More The Grind Date (2004)
  13. There's a difference between something being "boring" and "trash." When i say that i'm not feeling something...that's just what i feel. But i'll admit 2 calling some music trash, which i don't take back. But there's many times when i say i don't feel something...but i really do think it's trash. I just try 2 control myself more these days.
  14. That sounds dope. I like the fact that FP is getting more involved with The Roots. It's good 2 know he's staying busy in music even tho' Lost + Found isn't doing much.
  15. Let me just step in and say that i used 2 watch Soul Train the whole way thru' the 90's...seeing many forgotten performances. There waz one time that i remember them letting someone perform live. It waz MC Hammer in 1996. He performed 2 trax from his 1995 album V: Inside Out and 2 trax from The Funky Headhunter (i think). As always, he brought the house down. If Soul Train had more of a following, i think they'd consider letting artists do their thing live 4 real. Thanx 4 posting this!! I've never seen it (only a short clip from a Soul Train special years ago).
  16. Yeah, i've had these trax for like 2 days...ha ha. I saw that 3Cookies posted them about them so i didn't. They are all good. He said they'd be downloadable for 2 months.
  17. I waz gonna say that...but just didn't...ha ha
  18. Kel Spencer Arrested Development Speech Nitty Ahmad Skee-Lo Biz Markie
  19. JAMIE FOXX (aka Trail Mix-Alot) - Baby's Got Snacks (((In Living Color parody of Sir-Mix-Alot's "Baby Got Back")))
  20. I'm definitly a "Yes." But i follow where my heart leads me, and for the last 2 or 3 years, it hasn't been rapping so much.
  21. She may be showing skin...but it's tasteful. She's not dressed trashy and posing all slutty. Look at Lil' Kim's promo pix...there's no similarities.
  22. JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT - BareNaked Barenaked - (2002)
  23. I waz writing when i waz 12 (now i'm 25). I never took it very seriously or tried 2 take it anywhere. I don't write very often and haven't for awhile...but i always get urges 2 get back in 2 it. My cousin and former potna in rhyme called me just last week about writing 2gether and recording stuff. I freestyle when i'm in the car or around the house doin' stuff. Since i'm not acting as much these days, i could see myself letting the emcee within take me over within a matter of months.
