T-Boz Opens Up About Brain Tumor Posted by Karu F. Daniels on Oct 2nd 2009 6:00PM Filed under: Music, Movies, Television, News, Celeb Updates Comments (6) With HP wireless printers, you could have printed this from any room in the house. Live wirelessly. Print wirelessly. PRINTE-MAIL|SHARE TLC CrazySexyCool News is spreading like wildfire about TLC singer T-Boz's revelation that she battled a brain tumor. The 39-year-old Grammy Award winner told People magazine that she waged that battle in secret for three years. In the Oct. 12 edition of the magazine she revealed having a 7-hour surgical procedure back in 2006 during which doctors peeled the tumor away from the brain stem. The divorced single mother of one said she was battling the tumor during her stint on Donald Trump's popular reality competition 'Celebrity Apprentice,' but didn't want to make it known to the public: "I didn't want pity - I was there to help sick children." On the most recent season of the series, which comedienne Joan Rivers ultimately won, T-Boz (born: Tionne Watkins) competed to help raise funds for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia. (As a child, she was diagnosed with the life-long blood disorder.) Named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People of the World" by the magazine, in 1994 and 2000, T-Boz said that people are "shocked" when she tells them the news, but added "I won't let you feel sorry for me."

MARIAH CAREY - Inseperable Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel (2009) I LOOOOOOOOVE this song. Definitely my anthem at the moment. The new album is good. The production is better than I expected. It's not a classic MC album but it's 100 times better than E=MC2. Next up... GINUWINE - Last Chance (another current favorite) It's just a matter of time until I watch Kel Spencer's "Uggs To Hugs" again...my favorite Hip-Hop joint all year!!

I didn't follow Mr. Magic super close but have always known him as someone who put Hip-Hop on the map as the 1st BIG Hip-Hop DJ. I remember his compilations from the 80's. It was one of his compilations from 86 that got me a CD quality version of the original version of "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble" years before The Very Best of JJ+FP featured it. Big loss for Hip-Hop. Respect! Rest In Peace.

Ha ha....i love these. Jeff looks so unhappy in the ears. I just got the visual of Mickey throwing Jeff out of Cinderella's castle FPofBA style.

Which isn't a good thing. If the page starts standing still, people will lose interest and possibly leave the cause. We need 2 get more people and keep adding to it. Are we just posting stuff on those websites that have been suggested or just suggesting it and not doing it? Any ideas?
-
I've only heard 1 or 2 of the podcasts. U guys have been kinda negative on the ones I've heard. With this one focusing on the cause, I think it's time to be a bit more positive and have it focused 100% on music. I wish i was able 2 participate.

LL Cool J Receives Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Nomination
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I love that while he says he's not doing a full length album, he's still putting out songs on the internet and getting nominated for the R&R Hall of Fame. I hope he gets it, he's up against some big names. I'm not sure how all of that works. Just like FP, he'll be back in full swing musically some time soon enough. -
I can't wait...tho' I wish people like Pete Rock and DJ Premier were on the project. I can't believe they brought up Cella Dwellas in the article!! Does anyone on the board remember them. I remember loving their album. I'm pretty sure they only dropped one album. "Perfect Match" was my joint in 96!

VH1's Hip-Hop Honors Returns, Salutes Def Jam
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I love KRS-One but i don't know if i agree with that. Back in the day...leading up to the 2000's many artists could shine at the same time and they certainly weren't all on Def Jam. Commerically it's gotten very limited in recent years. There's usually only 5 artists at the same time shining on the charts. And usually they are all wack. I don't think that can be pinned on the label. The real Def Jam or the label currently called Def Jam. :-P -
"Movies" is a bad word for this Cause. Shame!!
-
I typed up his Discography and Videography and none of it's showing up on the page. I went back into "Edit Cause" and the text was still there.....weird.

I invited 300 people and only 15 of them joined so far. I need new ideas...ha ha.

Rumor: Will says they're will be a Hancock 2...
JumpinJack AJ replied to Vipa's topic in Will Smith Movies
I don't think MIIIB would be a step back as long as the script is as good as the 3rd. The 2nd one wasn't bad, it was just average. If they aren't gonna make the 3rd one any better than the 2nd, then they probably shouldn't bother. I think Seven Pounds was a good movie. My only problem is that his last 3 movies were I Am Legend, Hancock, and Seven Pounds. None of them are amoungst his best, funniest, or most entertaining. I like that he does different things but he needs 2 spread out those kinds of movies in between ones on the level of his best movies. -
Dicussion of Drake vs. Lupe Fisaco
JumpinJack AJ replied to TopDawg14's topic in Caught in the Middle
Nobody with "Lil'" in their name gets any respect from me. Especially if u are older than 10. -
I disagree. LL's always had his own style that adapted over time. It wasn't until Exit 13 where I felt he compromised to do what was accepted on the radio. And when it comes to the real boom bap sound, i think it was left in the 90's. That agressive, raw, energy-filled sound hasn't really bled into the 2000's.

Dicussion of Drake vs. Lupe Fisaco
JumpinJack AJ replied to TopDawg14's topic in Caught in the Middle
I must admit, i haven't heard much from Drake, but that's only because I've heard enough. I remember him sounding better than alot of the bottom of the barrel commercial rappers out there but his subject matter (or lack of it was total trash). He's a dime a dozen. Lupe is probably the best new Hip-Hop artist to come out in the past 5 years. -
CONVINCING THE PRINCE 2 RETURN
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
The thing is Tim started the page and is the overall admin. I don't wanna go fiddling with the page without his blessing and I don't think any of the other admins should either. So if Tim can do it or give me the green light, I'll get what I can up their ASAP. Who wants to be in charge of getting the videos together? -
As the cause pics up more steam I think it's important that we make things as professional and informative as possible. This is a group effort so we should all get to share our opinion.
-
I'm definitely in the mood for something new. I'm being reminded of how dope Lost + Found is. I put up a few music related pix. I changed the main pic on the page. If someone wants another one up, just change it. I just didn't feel that the 1993 Code Red pic was a proper default pic. The group is slowly getting momentum and we should be proud of how far we've gotten so far. I think it's time to update the info on the page but putting on more information in a more professional way. This thing is about to get huge!! This is a group effort. Let's get busy! We are the biggest fans on the web. We run this!!
-
That's the pic Ale!! If we go with a JJ+FP pic, I'd personally use that one. Otherwise, i'd go with a high quality promo or performance pic from L+F. Another idea, should we list some of the music awards that he's won on the page?
-
Ahhh...the boom bap sound of the 90's. I miss that.
-
Yeah, neither of those posted were what i had in mind. There's others out there. The one of him and Jeff side by side, hands in the air is classic. I figured the more legit info on the page the better. Can we list the discography with the year the album came out and how man units it sold? I couldn't tell but can we put a photo album on there with a handful of music related and performance pictures? Let's keep all the movie crap off of this page for sure.
-
It's about tyme someone get some fire in them...ha ha. What Hip-Hop, Will Smith, Fresh Prince websites can we advertise this on? Also, should we consider a Lost + Found promo pic as the main pic on the cause? Maybe one of the ones where he's wearing a "I Am Hip-Hop" shirt. I don't like Facebook cuz u are pretting limited in how pages look. I think she should make it look as full, busy, and professional as possible so that when FP sees it, he's honors and instantly stirred up 2 get in the studio (if he isn't already).
