  1. I think we ALL need 2 do something this week and space it out over the week. Who can add videos, pix, etc? Who has more people they can invite. Where can we promote this?
  2. MICHAEL BUBLE - Haven't Met You Yet Crazy Love (2009) Love this!

  4. This was pretty cool. I think it would have been more effective 2 keep FP's vocals over the Naughty beat and that's it. The chorus does kinda work with the story tho'...and in that case the Bob Marley vocals would be okay as well. The other songs, why worked in there really well just don't really fit with the topic of the song. Thanx 4 sharing...the person who mixed this did a really good job.

  6. I read about this the other day. It just sounds stupid 2 me.
  7. I remember reading about the 2 of them around 2000 and 2001 where they were at each other's shows and recording stuff. Unless MJ tried 2 sound nothing like himself I can't believe that's him on this track. I have the vinyl promo of "You Rock My World" with Jay-Z's verse but I've been trying to get the CD promo which u can occaionally find for way 2 much money. I remember MJ doing the background vocals on Brandy's "Full Moon" album and how they totally turned her vocals off on MJ's Invincible album but still listed her.
  8. I have it but my CD burner is shot at the moment. I'm sure someone can find it online tho.' There's alot of people who are good and finding stuff here.
  9. R. Kelly Reveals He Suffers From Illiteracy Posted Oct 2nd 2009 7:30PM by Latifah Muhammad R&B singer/songwriter R. Kelly revealed that despite his musical talents, he suffers from illiteracy and barely made it through grade school. The Grammy winner recently spoke at the Midwest Music Festival in Chicago, about the trials and tribulations of starting his career. "When I was trying to make it out here, I already knew, and I was stubborn about it," he said. "I don't even read really and I'm not afraid to say that. My cousins and brothers used to tease me 'you can't even read right. How you think you're going to come up?' The only reason I graduated from grammar school is because I had a great jump shot. I went to high school and [my teacher] told me 'you will one of the greatest writers of all time.' I believed. You [have to] believe it. You can't believe [anything] if you're hating. You can't achieve [anything] if you're hating." Since being exonerated from child molestation charges Kelly has been working on his upcoming release. When news of Kelly's possible sexual escapades with a then underage girl broke in 2001, the singer maintained his innocence despite the leak of a sex tape showing him and the victim. He has received mixed reactions in response to the allegations but the 42-year-old stated that he is undaunted by his critics. "I got ya'll beat if you're hating on me," he said. "Because I love you. That's why I keep doing what I do." Last year Kelly spoke publicly about the child molestation case. "I can't keep answering these questions," he said in an interview. "If you [were] charged with something and you [were] found innocent, then you can't be found guilty for being found innocent." Kelly's forthcoming album is due in stores Oct. 12. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Say What! -- Nick Cannon Threatens Eminem + More Posted Oct 2nd 2009 8:30PM by Sharks "[Eminem is] lucky I haven't run into him yet," Nick Cannon told In Touch Weekly "I'm supposed to protect my woman if someone can be so heinous and disrespectful. Until we speak, I don't respect him as a man. He and I need to have an old-school sit-down." Yeah, he probably really wants to have a sit-down with you, too. Just work it out, fellas, then makes some good music comedy...What is it you do again, Nick? [starpulse] Lloyd apologized about calling Ciara a "Hollywood B-----." Sort of. "I said what I said and I stand by it. But read exactly what I said, then judge me. The truth is, I don't **** with Hollywood B----s (or Hollywood N----s for that matter). No, I'm not calling Ciara a b----, I'm saying that I think celebrity status changed her for the worse, and because of that, we don't get down anymore." So "b----" is just what you've always call her, the "Hollywood" part is new. Apology accepted. [bossip] Ryan Reynolds is hosting SNL this week with musical guest Lady Gaga. "She's a talented musician," he told MTV. "You sort of forget that with all the glitz and glamour...She plays piano beautifully and sings beautifully and is this masterful musician but, at the same time, will put on an entire unitard made of hearing-aid-colored fabric and be a little strange, so you sort of forget." I know, it's like, "hey, behind that hat made of cat feces, ketchup and marzipan lies a talented songstress with the voice of an angel/bird! Too bad all her music is made for the Jersey shore. [MTV] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kanye West on Chicken: I Eat It Because I'm Black If you thought Kanye West only loved himself (and Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' video), you thought wrong, chicken is also on that list. The Chicago rapper was spotted coming out of a Los Angeles eatery and when asked if he chose to dine on chicken or fish, Yeezy jokingly expressed his love for foul. "Well the way I came up with that decision was, I'm kind of hungry and I just ... um ... I think I wanted some chicken because I'm black -- [so] you know I like chicken a lot," he said. "I'm gonna' do a commercial for chicken for free." Although he was most likely being facetious, this is his second "chicken-related incident" in the past few weeks. West recently made headlines for throwing a fit over not getting chicken during a surprise appearance at the "Common & Friends" benefit concert in Los Angeles. "Why wasn't I offered chicken?" He was overheard complaining. "You want me to perform for free, [and] everyone is eating ... Why am I not eating?" Adding insult to injury West allegedly yelled at the waitress when she noted that he hadn't actually asked for anything to eat. Once served, onlookers revealed that he took only one bite of the chicken before throwing it out. Since his outburst at the MTV Movie Awards, West is making good on his promise to take some off, canceling his tour with popstar Lady Gaga. Lets just hope that his break also includes not talking to the paparazzi so much, because he's not looking too good right now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ N.E.R.D Recruit Female Singer for New Album Posted Oct 7th 2009 5:15PM by Nadeska Alexis In preparation for their upcoming album, 'Instant Gratification,' N.E.R.D. has enlisted female singer Rhea to add some unique vocals to the project. Although Pharrell has had plenty of experience singing those high-range hooks, the super producer told MTV News he was convinced that Rhea would add a new dimension to the sound of the group. The Toronto native, who has a background in classical singing, was linked to the band through a mutual friend and auditioned via Skype before she got the official thumbs up to join the crew. "Musically, we're just somewhere else [with her]. The music is now very 3-D. It's something you have to hear," Pharrell said. "But you'll see. We're definitely somewhere else. I want to leave that impact moment for when you purchase your download and you purchase your CD. The music is very three-dimensional. We're just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D. has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music -- just a little different. But this time, we're taking no prisoners." Pharrell explained that despite her teeny size, Rhea's powerful vocals allow the band to open up their musical range and experiment further. "Now you have this little Tinkerbell that's just stepped in and has been amazing," he said. "It's made it a fun process. We can go in so many more directions, because we have the vocal support." 'Instant Gratification,' is slated for a 2010 release and N.E.R.D. will join Jay-Z on his 'Blueprint 3' tour beginning next week.
  10. BE BE + CE CE WINANS w/ MARY MARY - Let It Be Still (2009) I like this song...but u think after one of gospels most succesful groups reunites after over a decade the overall album would be a bit stronger. Maybe it'll grow on me.
  11. I was just thinking about this the other day...THIS is what needs 2 be on the Cause page.
  12. I thought u guys were just being critical but I just went back and watched the video and yeah, she's not all that...ha ha. I think that if she made herself look normal, she's actually be pretty. I think she overdid it 2 be a character for the video. Less is more. Who cares tho'...the video is just laid back and feel good. It looks like any block in the US. The lyrics give me that vibe of falling in love. The wordplay and wit is original. I'm just feeling this song and video all around.
  13. In responce 2 all of the news. I heard Usher's new song and I like it. It's not on the level of most of stuff on the 8701 or Confessions album but it's still good. I can't wait for his new album. Usher is probably my favorite solo male R-N-B artist. I've grown up on his stuff. I liked Here I Stand but it was his worst and missing that typical Usher swagger. Ice-T wrestling? If this is a one time thing, cool. Overall i think it's stupid....but whatever. I don't even know anything about Mark Curry. I've heard his name before and that's about it. I never really followed Bad Boy but i never really suspected Biggie was trying 2 leave Bad Boy. Biggie and Puffy seemed inseperable. I wonder if it's true or if this bitter person is just putting stuff out there 2 cause drama. Craig Mack was the only legit artist on Bad Boy when it comes 2 Hip-Hop. Wasn't he a part of EPMD's click prior to Bad Boy? His 2nd album after he left Bad Boy was dope 2. I remember him saying it was exciting being part of the label in the beginning but that he didn't want 2 stay there after they blew up. He had a short stint back on the label in 2002 but the album never formed. It probably would have been the best thing for Bad Boy if it did. I didn't like Biggie's voice or lyrics. I just didn't like his music in general. It wasn't believable and hearing him on Bad Boy after hearing his earlier work, it just didn't seem authentic (check "Party + Bull****" and Heavy D's posse cut "A Bunch of N*****") . The only thing I remember about G-Dep is that he somehow got Rakim on his album. Compared 2 today's rappers he's probably alot better. But who wants 2 be dope only be comparison. I barely remember Black Rob. He seemed like he'd may be a decent rapper but as an "artist" he'd be a dime a dozen. Mase was just awful. His voice, his lyrics...everything. Who could take him for anything more than a pop rapper? "Murda Mase"....oooohhhh...scary. Then he wanted 2 find God, do a clean Hip-Hop album, gain some success...then leave Bad Boy 2 and try 2 be "hardcore"...ha ha. (Anyone remember Harlem World...ugh). I think Bad Boy's R-N-B was much better. Faith is the truth! I think she's often underrated. Total didn't really have the best voices but they made it all work. 112 was really good. The harmonies were great but their individual voices were average. Sometimes the production was dope and sometimes it wasn't. New Edition on Bad Boy was painful for me. Their talent was in tact but the album wasn't promoted and most of the production was substandard. NE expressed dislike towards the label when they got off it. Even tho' i was never in2 Bad Boy, when u look back on the time that they shined, they definitely do have some singles that defined an era that take me 2 a good place mentally even if i don't like the songs.
  14. I don't think i've ever heard him. The only emcee that was ever on Bad Boy that i thought was truely dope was Craig Mack. Sorry BIggie fans, but i think all the rest of them were wack or average at best.

  16. Usher's 'Papers' Debuts, Singer Airs Dirty Laundry in New Song Posted Oct 5th 2009 4:45PM by Latifah Muhammad Comments [3] Print | Email More R&B star Usher is ready to be done with his soon-to-be ex-wife Tameka Foster-Raymond and the singer puts the ordeal to a beat with the release of his latest song 'Papers.' Just as expected the lyrics of the song are as juicy as they are candid. "Who the hell argues and fights like dogs at 6 in the morning?/ I know its gonna' be some more s--- tonight," he sings. "Our pastor's calling telling me I done went too far and/ I'm seen around town and my friends can't recognize me, 'cuz I took a chance on love." Clearly addressing what some saw as erratic behavior in defense of his two-year marriage to Foster-Raymond, Usher is now singing a different tune. "I done damn near lost my mama/I done been through so much drama/ I done turned into the man I never thought I'd never be/I'm ready to sign them papers." Usher also states that his relationship with Foster-Raymond was opportunistic on her part. "I ain't afraid to say I have needs/the only time you here for me is when the bottles poppin' and everything is sweet/but I'm tired of sleeping in the other room/spending them long nights trying to figure out what in the hell in my heart I ain't do right." Since announcing the split in June, the Grammy winner has remained mum on the details surrounding the dissolution of marriage. Our guess is that he's saving a good portion of those stories for his upcoming release tentatively titled 'Raymond vs. Raymond.' The couple tied the knot in 2007 amid reports that their union caused a rift between Usher and his mother Jonetta Patton, who did not attend the ceremony. Following his nuptials Usher dropped his fifth album 'Here I Stand.' The record failed to come close to the colossal success of his previous release 'Confessions' which spawned several hits and sold over 1 million units in its first week. His latest album is said to feature production from Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo and The Neptunes. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Former Bad Boy Ghostwriter Mark Curry Takes Aim at Diddy Posted Oct 5th 2009 5:30PM by Carter Maness Comments [0] Print | Email More Mark Curry, a former Bad Boy rapper and Diddy ghostwriter, is setting sights on his old boss in a new tell-all book entitled 'Dancing With the Devil.' While it's nothing new for the unemployed to take shots at the crown, Curry does come with a substantial bombshell that many of us suspected all along: Notorious B.I.G. was planning to leave Bad Boy before his death in 1997. "Biggie was already on his way out the door," said Curry in an interview with Gyant Unplugged. "I just remember the stories of when Biggie would want money from Puff, and they would be doing a show and Biggie wouldn't show up to the show until ten minutes before the show and Puff would be like "Where is he at? Where is he at?" That's where he would get his leverage. Biggie knew that Puff needed him. If you break it down and look at the situation for what it truly is, Biggie Smalls made Bad Boy. Bad Boy is Biggie Smalls." Curry explains that Notorious and his Junior M.A.F.I.A. associates already had the plans ready for a new label with fairer pay practices. As with most things Diddy, money was behind everything and Curry uses B.I.G. as a springboard to rail on Combs' venomous contacts with other artists. I mean, there must be something there. How many people from the original Bad Boy roster are still producing something significant? I'll wait... Curry writes in the first chapter, "Even worse, Puff charged artists for his appearances on their records and in the videos, usually without their realizing it until they received their royalty statements. That's when they discovered that a large sum of their money had gone to fees which were doubled, tripled and even quadrupled because of Puff "special guest appearances." He charged artists, for example, for having his Bentley in their videos - which he insisted upon - then took a tax credit for business use of the car." Dang. Let's just hope Mr. Curry can make some scraps from this book, because he sure ain't coming back to the game any time soon. ---------------------------------------------------- Ice-T, Coco Ready to Wrestle? Posted Oct 5th 2009 7:15PM by BoomBox Staff Comments [0] Print | Email More West Coast gangsta rapper-turned-actor Ice-T is planning to jump into the ring, and according to reports, he's bringing his blond and buxom wife Coco with him. The 'Law & Order:SVU' actor has announced plans to appear on WWE's 'Monday Night Raw' wrestling program. The details of Ice-T's involvement in the popular Vince McMahon-helmed show are not yet available, but Ice claims that he and his rumored-to-be-pregnant wife will make their appearance on the show this fall. Before launching his rap career in the late eighties with 'Rhyme Pays,' Ice-T appeared in the 1984 breakdancing film 'Breakin'' and the film's sequel, 'Breakin' II.' He made his official big-screen debut with his appearance in 'New Jack City' in 1991. While he has continued to release albums, with diminishing success, his acting career blossomed. He has appeared in such legendary films as 'Tank Girl,' 'Trespass' and 'Leprechaun in the Hood,' an urban spin-off of the classic horror film. In addition to 'Law & Order:SVU' Ice-T's other television credits include the cop drama 'New York Undercover.'
  17. Very cool. I think i saw that they were touring 2gether a lil' bit ago. That should be a really good show....a really good show 2 being a girl 2. I'm really curious about what Queen Latifah is going 2 perform. U could probably call her Hip-Hop's leading 1st lady. She's been doing her thing for over 20 years. However, in the past 5 years, she's relased 2 Soul/Jazz/Pop albums and her current mainstream urban album. I don't know if I'm doing to a Hip-Hop show or a polished show of a mixture of things. Either way, seeing Latifah perform life is a rare thing these days and I'll love it either way. It's making me go back and submerge myself in her albums, most of them were albums i listened 2 religously back in the day.
  18. Very cool. I almost saw De La Soul again. Was it the real Pharcyde or the duo version? I was fortunate 2 see them back in 1993. I'd love 2 see Ginuwine and Joe.
  19. "Uggs To Hugs" is my joint!! Seriously, it's one of my top 3 favorite Kel joints. The video is so fly and feel good. It's just a bit late for it 2 be so summery in the video.
  20. Apparently Queen Latifah is performing in Baltimore. Is she touring? I haven't heard anything about her touring but I got an e-mail stating that she's performing about an hour from me. I don't care if it's a Hip-Hop show or a mixtures of all her stuff, I'M SO HYPED!!! I don't remember the last time I've heard about her performing and with her movie career and everything I definintely didn't expect 2 hear about her doing a show in Maryland. I've been blessed to see alot of my favorite artists perform...this just adds 2 the list.
  21. T-Boz Opens Up About Brain Tumor Posted by Karu F. Daniels on Oct 2nd 2009 6:00PM Filed under: Music, Movies, Television, News, Celeb Updates Comments (6) With HP wireless printers, you could have printed this from any room in the house. Live wirelessly. Print wirelessly. PRINTE-MAIL|SHARE TLC CrazySexyCool News is spreading like wildfire about TLC singer T-Boz's revelation that she battled a brain tumor. The 39-year-old Grammy Award winner told People magazine that she waged that battle in secret for three years. In the Oct. 12 edition of the magazine she revealed having a 7-hour surgical procedure back in 2006 during which doctors peeled the tumor away from the brain stem. The divorced single mother of one said she was battling the tumor during her stint on Donald Trump's popular reality competition 'Celebrity Apprentice,' but didn't want to make it known to the public: "I didn't want pity - I was there to help sick children." On the most recent season of the series, which comedienne Joan Rivers ultimately won, T-Boz (born: Tionne Watkins) competed to help raise funds for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia. (As a child, she was diagnosed with the life-long blood disorder.) Named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People of the World" by the magazine, in 1994 and 2000, T-Boz said that people are "shocked" when she tells them the news, but added "I won't let you feel sorry for me."
  22. MARIAH CAREY - Inseperable Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel (2009) I LOOOOOOOOVE this song. Definitely my anthem at the moment. The new album is good. The production is better than I expected. It's not a classic MC album but it's 100 times better than E=MC2. Next up... GINUWINE - Last Chance (another current favorite) It's just a matter of time until I watch Kel Spencer's "Uggs To Hugs" again...my favorite Hip-Hop joint all year!!
  23. I didn't follow Mr. Magic super close but have always known him as someone who put Hip-Hop on the map as the 1st BIG Hip-Hop DJ. I remember his compilations from the 80's. It was one of his compilations from 86 that got me a CD quality version of the original version of "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble" years before The Very Best of JJ+FP featured it. Big loss for Hip-Hop. Respect! Rest In Peace.
  24. I read this the other day. A new article just came out on AOL's Popeater and it did say the incident occured before he was married and before he had his 1st child. Apparently the girl was in a handful of skits he had done in the past.
  25. Ha ha....i love these. Jeff looks so unhappy in the ears. I just got the visual of Mickey throwing Jeff out of Cinderella's castle FPofBA style.
