I never liked T.I. I never understood why people who aren't just commercial rap fans liked him. I think his dirty south flow is annoying. From what I heard, he actually does have subject matter to his songs, which is good but ultimately I've never liked his music. I hope he gets his life together. I must say I miss the Tiny of Xscape vs. T.I.'s Tiny. Back in the 90's she was sweet, talented, cute, etc...now she's transformed into this ugly ghetto-mess. She she gets honest in interviews I see traces of there but otherwise she's like a whole other person.

I think that's JT's worst song. I like Justified alot more than his last album. EMINEM - It's Okay Infinite (1997) Eminem's best song? Maybe. Probably.

Eminem Doesn't Use Profanity At Home
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think it's silly that he cusses as much as he does in his music when he doesn't cuss around the house. I think he should make more room for the lyricists that he is (again) in his music by taking out the cussing...at least the unnecessary cussing (which is still most of it). I think O'Reilly is an idiot. He isn't saying anything important here. He certainly doesn't have any room to talk about anyone cussing. 3 words..."Do it live." I forgive Eminem for the near-decade of crap music he was making. He's back on point. His lyrics are creative, funny, relevant, and with more variety. His production is better. His performances are great. Eminem is actually doing good things for Hip-Hop right now so I'm not gonna knock him even tho' I would prefer further changes in his music. While we are on topic tho'...I think it's awful that he chose the worst song off his album as the next single. I hope it doesn't do much and that he follows it up quickly with a new single/video. -
Happy B-Day!

Yeah, this story is amazing. When I 1st saw this news I was happy to see real miracles at work in a big way.

Yeah, Bobby Valentino and the production on that song are good. I wouldn't mind getting a TV Track to that that was just Bobby's vocals over that beat...cuz there are no redeeming qualities to Lil' Wayne. BLACK EYED PEAS + DE LA SOUL - Cali To New York Bridging The Gap (2000)

So...this is something...
JumpinJack AJ replied to Dr. Tweenus Gonzo's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
This is totally not my taste...at all. But the concept is definitely creative. I was laughing at the way the lines from the show were turned into lyrics. -
Common Sense shines, Pusha T does his thing too. Big Sean and Cyhy seem like they might be promising. And some of u will like the clown Kanye. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-rOZnb-ewI

Even with commercial state of Rap music being utter trash I watched the BET Hip-Hop Awards only because I knew Salt-N-Pepa was getting an award. Thankfully there were many surprises along the way they kept me from turning the channel. At the end of a wack Rick Ross performance, MC Hammer took the stage for a modern remix of "2 Legit 2 Quit." He was right on point lyrically and with that classic Hammer dancing. U could tell from all of the crowd shots that they were loving it. It's totally time for a Hammer comeback because a lot of people are receptive. The freestyles were ultimately the thing that kept my attention. Run and Ice Cube did ones with their sons which were dope. Common Sense also had a good one. Salt-N-Pepa's tribute was fitting but they definitely should have performed. DJ Premier came out to do a tribute to Guru and at the end of someone else's performance, Shock-G rushed the stage as Humpty Hump which led to Digital Underground doing "The Humpty Dance" and "I Get Around" as a non-gangsta tribute to 2Pac. To be honest, I can't remember any of the other performances or presenters for the most part. It was mostly garbage pop rappers like Nickie Minaj. I was surprised that so many legend and iconic emcees showed up to balance it out and give the show some heart. DMX - Baby Motha The Year of The Dog (Again) (2006?...I forget) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS3UylCjRsM When it comes to a career in Hip-Hop, LL is the best, staying the most consistent and having so many different sides to himself as an artist. And Puffy has to be good at collaborations. He doesn't have enough talent to make music by himself as an artist...lol. Last night I popped in DMX "Year of the Dog" and was reminded how good that album is. I hope he comes out with something at least as strong as this next time around.

Lupe Fiasco's LASERS Will Be Released
JumpinJack AJ replied to VIsqo's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'm looking forward to this. I never picked up his last album. I just kept forgetting to get it. Lupe seems like one of the last great hopes for Hip-Hop on a mainstream level. -
These are awesome! And I love the use of "Shy Guy." I wish they pulled from more of his movies tho.'

Ahhh...okay. I feel alot better...lol.

The Banksy 'Simpsons' Intro That's Stirring Up Controversy
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Caught in the Middle
I saw it on YouTube earlier today. I was interpreting it as them shedding light on how somethings are produced...including their own?!...I guess...lol. I like The Simpsons tho' I haven't watched a new episode on TV in over a decade. I guess the best way to describe it was interesting and a little awkward. -
Nicki Minaj is pop-rap trash. I don't like her being placed amongst common-minded commercial artists. I don't know if I can give this a listen. To me, this idea sounds like "Da Butta: Part 2)"...lol.

HA HA!! Visqo is usually the first 2 call me out for liking artist like Katy Perry. But he's calling S Club 7 one of his favorite groups...lol. LL COOL J, COOLIO, BUSTA RHYMES, METHOD MAN + B-REAL - Hit 'Em High Space Jam Soundtrack (1996) One of the best posse cuts EVER. This song sounds just as fresh 2day.

Eminem Doesn't Use Profanity At Home
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I know that after he beat his drug problem he said that he found God. That might be part of it. There was a subtle change in his language and the way he did cuss on Relapse and then on Recovery. I don't know why he doesn't further cut it out if he doesn't cuss outside of music. What happened to "keeping it real." I don't see uses bad language as a way that enhances art at all. -
JERMAINE DUPRI w/ DA BRAT + USHER - The Party Continues... Life In 1472 (1998) I've always loved this song. I can't believe it wasn't a bigger hit in it's time.
-
Visqo, that is easily the best song on Usher's new album. Probably the best off of his last 2. He needs 2 return to this kinda music because most of the songs on Versus and Raymond V Raymond can't touch he's earlier work. R. KELLY - Half On A Baby R. (1998) I miss this version of R. Kelly...when he was the freakin' man! This song takes me back to fall 1998 like crazy.

I just read an article where she sold her house. Hopefully that starts getting things back in control. R-N-B needs her voice and her talent. This kinda stuff just keeps her from creating. The album she dropped this year is one of the year's best. I hope she keeps them coming.

Nas Blasts Def Jam Executives In Open Letter
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
That letter is ill!!! I love that he put that out there. He got it 100% right. Def Jam is a joke. It has been since Russell Simmons left; PERIOD. It's the one thing that Hip-Hop could still be proud of but Jay-Z steadily ruined it. I'm looking forward to hearing this album and I'm hoping alot of people back Nas thru' this whole thing. -
