  1. This seems like something Mariah has always wanted. I'm glad for them and I have a feeling it will effect her music in a very positive way. In the mean time, I can't wait 2 hear the new Christmas album!
  2. I like Lupe's version of "Nothing On You." I think B.o.B. brought more energy to it tho.' If u find a download for this, let us know!
  3. A TRIBE CALLED QUEST - Lyrics To Go (Remix) Oh My God (CD Single) (1994) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPn4YBovpWw&feature=related I love going back to my singles from the 90's and hearing the stuff I haven't listened 2 very often.
  4. The beat isn't very good on this. I'm actually very disappointed with the production. The song as a whole is alright but coming back out calls for a much stronger single. On a related note, the Target Exclusive Version of Bruno Mars' album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans," one of the bonus tracks is a version "Just The Way You Are" that features a verse from Lupe. It's essentially the album version but with an average rap from Lupe.
  5. It's hard to imagine them remastering all of these for a release like this. Most of them have been remastered on previous compilations.
  6. GINUWINE - What Could Have Been (2010) NEW GINUWINE!!
  7. Yeah, Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 is easy to forget that it came out...lol.
  8. SHANICE - Saving Forever For You 90210 Soundtrack (1992) Shanice has always been one of my favz. This song takes me back. I miss when R-N-B songs actually stirred your emotions up.
  9. Yeah, I haven't listened 2 that album in awhile...but it's good. For some reason I'm thinking that was on Def Jam tho.'
  10. I see posts titled stuff like this and I think "who cares" but I still open them. Are any of these really surprising? We all knew they were gonna be on the list, we just didn't know who was gonna be where.
  11. I like this song. Thanx for bringing it 2 the board. No disrespect, but I think the song would be better without Bun B. I've never thought he was good and this song is no exception. To me, he's the only lacking part of the song. The other emcees outshine him.
  12. Yeah, it's nice 2 see something new but this isn't gonna reach anybody. This is the kinda thing that comes out, gets priced at $7 and gets put on a rack in between other stuff. Most stores aren't even gonna order this. There should be something unique added to stuff like this. I think Jive needs 2 repackage the Greatest Hits album for the fans and have a deluxe version that has a DVD featuring all of the videos.
  13. TAYLOR SWIFT - Forever And Always (Piano Version) Fearless (Platinum Edition) (2009) Gym Class Heroes are one of the best things to happen to Hip-Hop in the 2000's. Hands down. I'm not a fan of country music at all but one of my friends was listening to Taylor back in 2008 and I couldn't front. I liked a lot of the songs (probably because most of them sounded like live instrument pop music). This is one of my favorite songs.
  14. IMMATURE - Ghetto Angel (2010) Brakes, u'll like this. I have no idea why this version wasn't put on Mattress Music. Also, if u check this on YouTube, u can find a recent interview with the 3 of them.
  15. DOUG RAY - Carry On (2010) Ted, I just picked up that Keith Sweat album (again) because I found out Target's version had 2 bonus trax). And those Cam'ron songs remind me of that time. Those songs represent the best of the mainstream rap at the time. I remember loving the production of "Hey Ma." The lyrics are stupid, but I love the beat.
  16. I'm really hoping MTV turns themselves around. I occasionally flip to it but I only see garbage programing that only further pushes young people to act like complete idiots. And Jim, MTV doesn't stand for Music Television anymore. That's why they cut the bottom half of the logo off last year. A few months ago I read an article that they were doing new episodes of Beavis + Butthead where were going to be just like the original series but that they were gonna be watching new videos...and that it may be MTV's way of opening a back door to bring music videos back on. We'll see.
  17. Good artist/song choice! Love this. Instantly downloaded this.
  18. I think people are just judgmental. I don't see her exploiting the MJ in anyway. It's Oprah...she always gets stories and interviews that others can't get. After all, when she interviewed MJ back in the 90's, Lisa Marie was there. It kinda makes sense to me.
  19. This is from AOL News' Boombox...I love that he's calling out MTV... ----------------------------------------------------------- Lupe Fiasco Lashes Out at MTV Over Editorial Julien M. Hekimian, Getty Images Lupe Fiasco has temporarily quelled his beef with Atlantic Records – fans can finally expect his long-delayed 'Lasers' album in March – but now the Chi-Town rapper has a bone to pick with MTV. His rage was apparently sparked by MTV's criticial piece 'Dear Lupe Fiasco: 10 Tips to Make 'Lasers' Successful,' which was posted on the Web on Thursday morning (Oct. 21). Lupe took to Twitter just hours after the editorial was published to lash out at the television network, in a series of eleven tweets ... and counting. (Ranting isn't easy in 140 character bursts.) "Oh snap ... MTV (illuminati's favorite network) back on the attack ... why can't y'all just chill out? Salacious banality @ the speed of light? I think I've been very good natured with you," he began. "I personally know several employees of your company. You guys know me as well. I'm confused. Where is the true music journalism??? where is Suchin?!! What happened? Where are the honest critiques of cultural expression?" Among the suggestions Fiasco took offense to were that he stop participating in supergroups, call Kanye West "like, NOW" for a contribution, and take cues from labelmate B.O.B., who was featured on the hit track 'Nothin on You,' after Fiasco passed up the opportunity. "What are we supposed to be learning from you? What is your point?," a heated Lupe continued in his rant against MTV. "Do you have a point beyond corporate sponsored distraction? Your a materialistic shell of your former self that can only identify with celebrity pageantry and instant gratification. Corporate garbage pushing plastic lifestyles and wasteful, destructive behavior into the brains of the youth of the world." Lupe, speaking for the general public, further exclaimed, "We want the REAL MTV back!," but noted that he wouldn't turn his back on the network. "So when your relevance thins in2 a whisper & the stock price collapses and you have 2 come 2 grips with the mess you made. I'll be here 4 ya," he wrote. So far, MTV has made no comment about the scathing remarks. Lupe's 'Lasers' beams down on March 8, 2011.
  20. I gave that Trae song a listen out of interest but couldn't feel it at all. I just don't think that guys has any presence on the mic. RICHIE RICH - Do G's Get To Go To Heaven? Seasoned Veteran (1996) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6o3178CGzs
  21. There's a video for this song. I get e-mails from R. Kelly/Jive and at least a month ago they sent an e-mail that had a video to this. I like that it looks like the next album isn't gonna be influenced by the watered down sound on the radio.
  22. This song has been getting spins for like 2 months now. I'm not much of a Nelly fan but I love this song. It's probably my favorite song on urban radio. I like that he's not trying to be hard or overdue the dirty south thing.
  23. I think JJ+FP and Run-DMC are the 2 Hip-Hop groups that have the most "Best of/Greatest Hits/Compilation albums. Since JJ+FP has nothing to do with them, we aren't getting anything good. If they actually partnered with Jive, they could at least give us a album of remixes, live performances, etc...SOMETHING exciting.
  24. EVE - Satisfaction Eve-olution (2002) I love the old school sensibility of this song and the video. I also love the fresh, bright style of the early 2000's music videos. Plus style started falling apart just years later with stupid haircuts, skinny jeans, etc. This captures early 2000's Hip-Hop at it's mainstream best.
  25. Ha ha....no pic on the album cover. "JAZZY JEFF" is bigger that "FRESH PRINCE." I think it's funny that it includes one of FP's solo hits that didn't have Jazzy on it AND that the last 4 tracks were even singles. I'll get it I'm certainly not rushing it.
