  1. thanks bigtime!! it's weird as it only is like once in each song yet when listening I almost wait for the skip just so it can be over with haha thanks again!
  2. amen. Jay's lyrics did that beat justice.
  3. Both my "Comin' to the Stage" and "We Won't" skip like 2/3rds in.... anyone have non-skipping ones?
  4. When u are so fake in your music, u surprise people. I didn't watch the video cuz my computer would blow up. But i can imagin 50 Cent giving them props which would make me think "why is your music so bad and so stupid ...yet u give props 2 intellegent legends who were actually real in their music." I can imagin KRS-One being a team player like FP, who shows him respect even tho' crappy artists like him are torn apart in his music. AJ, you nailed it on the head...I mean 50 was like "it's an honor to be sitting with you" and KRS responded praising 50 saying the honor was really his...then KRS furthered it by saying that 50 is an "MC" not just a rapper...and people don't like it because he's competitive. ugh.
  5. hahaha it was funny. I was hoping best performance woulda gone to will...
  6. Well I mean it's KRS and Marley.....like he'd really be pushing his luck if came at them any other way than thanking them. Plus, like you could take any punk kid, and have him sit on a couch with his idol, and he'd shut up enough because he would be star struck. I think it was interesting when KRS mentioned Nas, because 50 just seemed to observe the direction in which KRS took the statement....Also, when they played Hip-Hop Lives, you saw 50 out of his element because he's listening to the music that isn't all Timbaland, Dre-style...it's real raw and he kinda was just quiet and not sure where to go...if it was Ballin, or another song he likes that's all high-production he'd be like all into it... I think he's one interesting interview but that's about it...
  7. http://rapidshare.com/files/34300833/02_Ja..._Block.wma.html http://rapidshare.com/files/34300834/07_Ja..._South.wma.html http://rapidshare.com/files/34300835/08_Ja..._Hyped.wma.html  now i have to wait 36 minutes after downloading that video....these are tracks or what? i'm unaware of what these were
  8. Dude, you totally skip any mention of "Candy Paint." I am usually not a person to fall straight off a beat....but seriously that beat is one of the best to ride to...plus for once Swizz's voice is just right and not annoying with the hype background vocals...and that girl who does the one part of the chorus has such a nice voice....That track has to be mentioned just for those points alone...
  9. The way I see it is that CD's are like cassettes, cassettes are like records. They will be replaced. If I were to speculate, I'd imagine that HUB's of music (connected to a database online, probably the same one you access on your computer today) within shopping centers would simply allow you to purchase, on the go, by connecting your MP3 (or whatever music standard) player to the machine. Think of an ATM and then you probably just swipe your credit card or insert cash after selecting what artists you want. It would be a way to allow people to get the music when in a shopping mood, and also if your under 18 use cash to purchase the music, rather than credit cards only online at home. Regarding record labels, they will always be around in one form or another as long as the music industry exists. Record labels are marketing companies at the core, and whether its with advertisements on the internet, special offers, or premium co-branding with shopping centers (like Walmart), those tasks are not to be left to the artists. Marketing needs to be done by professionals with the only exception possible being if the artist is already established at a high level (i.e. Will Smith). Even then, the product can receive a boost with proper marketing. Interscope could have easily brought Will's album to platinum status with "Tell Me Why" as the second single, and then "Party Starter" as a third.
  10. 1.) SO there's a resurgence in "HIP HOP" and I stress "HIP HOP" over rap in the past...anything from Hip Hop is Dead, to Hip Hop Lives, to Kingdom Come...To TROTM...To True Magic... I mean everyone is on board against the "gangsta rap."...It's like the cool thing now to diss gangsta rap and try and be different. 2.) Everyone and I mean everyone and their mom in Hip Hop is professing how Hip Hop has to show a positive image and should change its ways. The "Cool Thing" is to be cleaner...(stress the -er lol) more socially aware.... 3.) Rappers are finally giving Will respect...Redman?!? a couple months ago said he looks up to Will...Peedi Peedi (even if you don't like him) did a lot in showing respect for Will in BNF2k7.... 4.) Will is the most powerful name in showbusiness. Period. Top Grossing Actor. He is a household name MORE THAN EVER. 5.) He's had enough time since his last album (2 years is a good interval). 6.) Every summer people get a refresher from "Summertime" lol (I HAD to put that in...) 7.) Will has never had to change in his message, and he was saying what Nas said in "Hip Hop is Dead" 2 years earlier with "Wish I woulda" and "Lost & Found" Will HAS to be sitting back and laughing...I mean it's like a street corner preacher who says the SAME thing every day and people walk by him just mocking him...and now EXACTLY the movement he PLEADED for is happening....or at least its the "in" thing to do...which even if you think guys like Master P are just trying to capitalize on....You have an HONEST leader in Will...all he has to do is turn on the mic. And that's it. He can finally make the changes he wanted for years now that people are on board. We just need someone who is 100% sincere...and when hasn't Will been so about Hip Hop?
  11. wow, i never expected that type of performance, like it's an actual performance with jeff and will working off each other...don't get me wrong, it ain't like I thought they couldn't do it, just when I see performances on tv from rappers, it's all this "jeezy ad-libbing" that is pointless... well done
  12. I was about to be a smarta$$ and list the full tracklisting to Young Joc's cd...and you beat me to the punch. ah. :sipread:
  13. you're talking of 300,000 $15 CD's (some priced at 20) Ya, it sucks how interscope dropped the ball with his album promotion including the follow-up single to switch... but I mean you're asking alot of people to buy cd's of something they already had...and it would be even tougher to go and promote a two-year-old album for the unaware to buy...
  14. hmmm...its a tough track.. I don't know...I like it...I guess it's just showing his talent doesn't encompass being that fast outside of the booth when you can't revise piece by piece.. but that doesn't mean he's real bad. I think alot of it is Peedi unable to do what FP can (could?) do...which is go that fast. Yet, he wanted to "channel" FP for the song.
  15. I totally agree. The cheesy factor came into play wayyy too much...I saw it at the local theatre in a college town and we (students who possibly are just biased generally...we got a week left lol) were laughing at serious points in the movie. I realized this movie was created as if it was a theatrical play on broadway..only there would such over-the-top emotions would be accepted as sincere. it was still fun though, just not the best of the series I believe.
  16. I really like how throughout the album you'll hear the radio...and it's legit Philadelphia/New Jersey, as I can tell what stations he's going between in that order to get from the old rock...to the pop...to WJJZ Smooth Jazz 106.1 lol I also definitely knew the rest to that one car advertisement "shouting" out loud lol... "area by storm is BACK"....."Cherry Hill Triplex off of route..." wow..a little overboard... *ok so maybe i've played this cd for the last few days nonstop* :wickedwisdom:
  17. as jeff says at the end of brand new funk 2k7... "maybe there's hope" :dj:
  18. when I heard him on mixtapes ...i was not a fan...i disliked his songs..."stay true" was the first I heard from him...and I just really disliked his rapping... but i've seen him in interviews and he carries himself better than any rapper in the game today. he'll wear a suit if he should, he'll sacrifice street slang for descriptive explanations in interviews...and this now... seriously, if there is ever a way to at least make me revisit a rapper i initially swore off, it's showing the unbelievable respect he shows not only to the industry but his consumers...
  19. if anything it promoted the leaks as the torrent sites are getting hit up for it.
  20. Will Smith and Nasir Jones. that's all that needs to be said. period.
  21. ya I don't know who leaked it but its available all over the net now.... early leaks kill album sales :shakehead:
