  1. Let's talk about the members here. This place has been going through energy spikes, ups and downs concerning forum activity. Mostly downs. I am here to save the board that under-appreciates me so much by writing whatever is at the top of my head. Here's how this works: I took the list of all the members who have logged on today. I pasted them all into here. If you're name isn't in the list you should add it. What you will be doing is writing something about these members. You must write something about every member. If you just write about AJ, Brakes, Tim, and Julie then you either one of those selfish bastards or you're just bent on continuing lack of activity and interest on this board. You're not THAT person.... are you? I will start. Ale- He laughed at my idea for the I Am Legend soundtrack. Ale rocks this week bart5- Has a problem with Lupe Fiasco. The fight has just begun. Big Ben- My favorite foreign clock. Big Willie- Has been showing patience with WillReign bigted- Used to kill Tim's bandwidth with huge posts lacking paragraphs. Now he lurks? What's up Ted? bigwill- Speaking of lurks... or spaces between words for that matter bigwillfan- Is clearly a fan of the member above Cyrano- I think of poison whenever I think of Cyrano. Which is never. Da Brakes- Hey when are you supposed to get married anyway? My invite hasn't come yet. DefCEM- I'm pretty sure this guy is hibernating because he used to post more. He is a bear. DevilsJim89- Hey, JazzyJeffFreshPrince2 (that was the name, right?) dkny2kx- Bag with a lotta stuff in it. fan 4ever- Is taking too long to post his 32 bar verse Fresh&Jazz4Eva- This guy is a draft-dodger Fresh:Dane- This guy is named Dane in real life too gosia- Posts WAY too much Hero1- Tim, you need to put more games in the arcade. I'm getting restless. Sorry for not writing something more personal.... nice shoes? Jazzy Julie- Is trying to trick me into poisoning my pets. Consult a doctor before taking her medical advice. JumpinJack AJ- Three of the biggest posters all lined up. Oh look, another one right below you. KevTastic- I just saw one of your youtube videos. You're welcome Lhunagar- I'm sorta-kinda-not-really interested in what your name means Luigie- Is losing interest in some things and gaining interest in others? I don't know man, be decisive! mara- I can't stand mara MaxFly- Another one that used to post a lot and now doesn't. If you guys had kids that could post or something, I wouldn't have had to make this thread. Mike- We BEEFED on wax man. Without the wax tho. We beefed on MP3 man. MissAshley-The only one actually online when I wrote this. Pakalicous- A little more mainstream than the rest of the board. That makes you an outcast. Radewart- You don't wanna know how he got his name. I threw up the first time he told me. raidon04- In America, Raid kills bugs. Sandy- You know this board has a kind of good male:female ratio. Sandy contributes to that. Schnazz- A swell guy. But compared to.... Silver Tiger- Chris! Born in Upland, CA on July 13, 1987 at 8pm. Father is an alcoholic. Chris spent some of his youth at a rehab center for his dad in the same hospital Chris was born in. Chris is a joy to be around. His smile lights up a room and he's the most requested person for events. He has fantastic taste in music and has influenced the listening habits of those around him. He continues to thrive and entertain, who knows what success he will achieve next? TheFre$hPrince- Is unfortunate enough to be right under Silver Tiger TooFresh- Noble idea. Don't we all wish everything was "too fresh"? Like meat. TopDawg14- Reminds me of when people used to spell "Dog" with "a" and "w" Trey- Sometimes I think it would be cool to have a name like "Trey" or "Jordan" but then I remember I am named "Chris". I can never lose. Turntable- Oh jeez this guy..... Hi Turntable! Typhoon20- I'm sure you're name was thought of long before all the recent natural disasters.... RIGHT? viber_91- You mix songs up sometimes. You post even less though. WesSyde- I used to have the name "Wesside Pride" on other boards, long ago. Your name does not remind me of that. willandjada- Two people in one. Like a Siamese twin. Or split personalities. Either way I'm pretty sure heshe has dealt with much confusion. willreign- Dealing with some forum drama right now. But you're posting man. You're a winner. Wow, that took a good minute but it was worth every minute. If you don't do it too you probably don't have much respect for yourself. And if you blew enough time reading all that, you're day is probably shot anyway, can't do much more damage. Write something. You don't need to thank me later. Now would be much more appropriate. God Blessa!
  2. I don't think this is nearly as shady as you're making it out to be. He's not even saying "I didn't mess up." He's not being arrogant about the situation. I'm sure he'd be the first to say sorry to ATCQ if they wanted it. It's not like he went out trying to hurt them. He'd been working on it all day. Q-Tip asked him to do it. He tried and still messed up. Not even a big mess up, but people are blowin it out of proportion like he just said "f**k tribe". Hell, artists forget their own lyrics on stage sometimes. He didn't hurt anybody. He just put an unflattering light on himself cast by the hip hop world. Already knew about LupEND. Now go buy the Cool and like it. Great album. God Blessa!
  3. Yeah, Julie, I know that. And you were wrong about my cats liking oranges too. They don't. God Blessa!
  4. Christmas is pretty forced for my family nowadays. I get to see my pets though. Which reminds me, Julie, I asked someone and they said your advice to give my dogs lots of chocolate to make them grow would NOT work. God Blessa!
  5. I read your reply this morning but I had to get going so now is my first chance to reply. I've had the time to think about what you said while listening to the CD in my car. Me being the music master that I am have come up with my 6 counter-points to prove why you are wrong and I, the Great Chris, am right: 1. Flow: Completely disagree with you. When I hear a Lupe track I know it's a Lupe track. Without including his mixtape songs- The Instrumental, The Cool, Hurt Me Soul, Daydreamin', Go Go Gadget Flow, Superstar, Hip-Hop Saved My Life, Streets on Fire, and Dumb it Down are just some examples of a recognizable flow. I don't know if you're saying this because his flow changes sometimes from song to song but that's the case with many artists. 2. I'll give you this, Food & Liquor's production was very organic. Everything fit together really well. The Cool has great production on though as well and I think it doesn't make much sense hating on it. Go Go Gadget Flow sounds nothing like Paris, Tokyo. Hip-Hop Saved My Life sound nothing like Go Baby. Hi-Definition sounds nothing like Hello/Goodbye. I could go on and on with this. You're not making sense. I'm interested in what you think of F&L because I think the beats on that album are more similar to each other than those of The Cool. 3. You're making an odd point. An odd point that I again disagree with. I'm listening to him right now and if the guy didn't pause when he does then he'd run out breath and out of words. I really don't see what you want from him here. His flow is correct on the beat and there's just enough words on each bar. Some rappers do too much (Kweli does this sometimes) and some do too little. Give me an example of what you're saying because he sounds good when he raps. Timing doesn't feel forced at all. I'm listening to He Say, She Say right now. Sounds good. 4. Introduction. So do you hate all Slam Poetry then? Most have some sort of message to them. Lupe doesn't right the introductions, by the way. They are there as a general introduction to the theme of the album. I don't feel like they are "high and mighty". I feel like they ask you to take a look at yourself and the world around you. 5. I don't think Lupe is trying to be a political emcee. Why is it unacceptable talking about many different big topics? I've had my fill of bad rappers talking about the same stupid topic ALL the time. How many different topics does Will Smith tackle in Tell Me Why? How much can Black Star squeeze into one verse? The great collection of his songs are not doing what Intruder Alert does. His albums are a collection of good songs. The albums have a theme and a story to them. And even that story is spread to only about 5 or 6 of the songs. It's about making good music. 6. Fame. "FACT IS" you're really just saying that's his goal. Fact is you don't know his master plan. His first album wasn't called "Get Rich or Die Trying", it was called "Food & Liquor". Lupe's become a big deal but he's not HUGE. The people who listen to him wish that more would do the same. With his amount of success, retiring after three albums does not scream "Look at me. I'm a great, conscious rapper and I'm going to retire after my third album." I think he HAS established himself. He's known as a great rapper that spits intelligent rhymes. That's how he's made his name and he's not doing anything that distracts from that. I don't think he's nearly as complicated as you're making him out to be. God Blessa!
  6. Have you heard this? Dude really didn't disrespect them. He's real forward in that interview I linked. God Blessa!
  7. I was gonna make a thread about The Cool. This thread kind of ruins that plan ash.... I picked it up when it dropped on Tuesday. Dope album. Seriously. It's got a different vibe from Food & Liquor. It's no less quality though. Every song is quality. It's got songs that anyone can sing to but are hard to master. His flow is really impressive on this album. If you haven't heard his current two singles (Superstar and Dumb it Down), check them out on his myspace. Those are just the tip of the iceberg though. Go Go Gadget Flow, Hip Hop Saved My Life, Streets on Fire, Intruder Alert, Little Weapon.... DOPE ALBUM. Snoop's got an appearance on the album too (Hi-Definition). It sounds so good that I think even Julie might like it. Another winner. Edit: The performance you posted is great. God Blessa!
  8. Will just really likes Styrofoam planets and lights powered by potatoes. God Blessa!
  9. How's that gonna work? 1. Silence 2. Silence 3. BASS! 4. Silence 5. Robert drives car 6. Silence 7. Silence 8. Silence 9. BASS! God Blessa!
  10. Schnazz had a good flow. Tough one for me but I think fan4ever came at Schnazz a little harder. God Blessa!
  11. I always listen to an album the whole way through the first time. If it's a dope album I will listen to the whole thing every time. I've got a lot of albums on iTunes that have all the songs with same play count. God Blessa!
  12. .....it rained and his chain rusted! He ran to the quarter machine to get another one when.... God Blessa!
  13. Brakes' verse may have had a little more balance. But fan4ever was able to actually make me laugh out loud. His verse got better as it went on. God Blessa!
  14. I noticed the lack of music. Worked well for the film. The movie turned out pretty good considering all the things against it (the main one being Akiva Goldsman). I need to read the novel but I'm pretty sure they weren't too faithful to the way the dark seekers were originally written. But I haven't read it so I don't know. The alone feeling is done great in the movie and is also well done. Definitely worth seeing. God Blessa!
  15. Very good battle. It's gonna be tough deciding this one. God Blessa!
  16. That's nice. Hypes me up for the album a bit. God Blessa!
  17. Sounds mostly just bitter to me. Especially considering there's such a slim chance he'll do any of that touring around me. In southern California. WHERE HE LIVES. Lack of new music is not a surprise to me. I expected it. God Blessa!
  18. Schnazz was more original but I think ash trey edged him out, just barely. Only because he made it more of a battle. But it was a very good battle for both of you. God Blessa!
  19. Well, I appreciate the last two comments but this just solidifies it for me. I'm sorry Ewan, but I just can't keep writing your verses for you anymore. God Blessa!
  20. Happy Birthday Mr. Knuckles. God Blessa!
  21. Sorry Brakes, but my fans have spoken. Don't let the door hit you on the way out! God Blessa!
