Honestly. Canibus can spit and he can spit hard. It kinda fell in LL's favor because he obviously was more popular at the time. I think LL def took it way to far cause Canibus was praising him by the mic off your arm comment. The Ripper Strikes Back and Back Where I Belong are dope tracks. Whenever I talk about this with my friends I say LL won because he had one line that just killed Canibus. It was close but LL won in my book. "..ask Canibus, cause he aint understandin this cause 99 percent of his fans don't exist.." Wowwww...lol

Where exactly did that Eminem quote come from? What's the source? Everyone disses everyone in Rap. Get used to it. Eminem can defend himself, so can Will. The whole masks thing was a little too far. Maybe Em got pissed at what Will said about how "didnt have to kill nobody in any of his records..." speech when he won an MTV VMA or something. The actual line in that track wasn't a diss but the masks and other crap was a little too far. We all know however, deep down, Em respects Will.

I'm probably the only one that doesn't like this remix. I LOVE MIAMI. I think it's one of the hottest rap singles ever. Everyone loves this song. It's so slick. There's many different "eras" in hip-hop and this is great for the times. I can't front on all that flashy pop stuff cause it did work with Will, Will's got such swagga that it's a great fit. That's why Will is one of the most versatile MCs ever..he can do any type of rap.

I read this interesting article a couple days ago and I don't know what to believe. I could've sworn I read a while back that LL did meet Jay-Z once in the streets in '95 and beat him. For those who don't know much about Jay, Jay was even more incredible before 1996's Reasonable Doubt album. He had a real quick tongue rapid fire flow so it is believable. It wouldn't surprise me.

quotes from rapper's who respect will smithDevilsJim89 replied to Ataraxia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince Wow! Ted..good stuff bro! I never never knew Will was gonna be on "After School" with LL Cool J! I think that might be the best track off that album! Ahhhh I wish you could find that interview. Also, you cant forget about that one guy down at ATOJ who saw Eminem in awe when Will came in the studio..since Em was a fan of JJ+FP!

Black Thought Defuses Will Smith “Feud” Before It StartsDevilsJim89 replied to Jin's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince Didn't Method Man say on YouTube that Will is his favorite Rapper? Or someone he looks up to? I tried looking for this on the forum and couldnt find it

This is definitely a set up. It should be a poll or something. This isnt NCAA...no brackets are needed. Will Smith vs Hammer? Of course Will, Hammer doesn't have great lyrics or a great flow really. Great entertainer but ehh..

Least Favourite Will Smith Album?DevilsJim89 replied to Ataraxia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince For me it's def Born to Reign. There's some good tracks like Born to Reign, Act Like You Know, How Da Beat Goes, MIB2, Block Party and Give Me Tonight..then theres a lot of wack ish like Maybe, Willow is a Player, Momma Knows. I dont get how he had 40 tracks made for this album and yet his worst crap is on it lol. So like half the album is good, half is crap. I think the best track off the album could've been "Born To Reign" had it been over 2 minutes! I remember when I first heard it and I thought it was gonna set the tone for the album and then the whole album fell off. The tracks I do like still dont rank in a top 10 list for me at all. To quote Will from "Pump Up the Bass" off "Hes the DJ, I'm the Rapper" ..theres a simple formula Will needs for hit records.. JEFF + PRINCE = HIT RECORDS ...SOUNDS SO EASY, WORD I KNOW IT DOES!

Wow Jin! We gotta find this interview! I def wanna read it!

That would be something if he did hang toe to toe with Big Daddy Kane. I've never heard anything about it. As far as battling, it's been said by I think Jeff that they would drive to around philly looking for cyphers and Will would just join and kill people. I believe most notable is Schooly D in which I think Jeff or someone said Will killed him so bad that Schooly D was ready to get in an actual fight with Will. One thing about JJFP is that they are alot more intelligent than most in the game. Rakim gets a lot of love for his lyrics, but Will was highly educated and you can tell on his battle tracks.

Black Thought Defuses Will Smith “Feud” Before It StartsDevilsJim89 replied to Jin's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince I think Black Thought is talking about directly working with young Philly artists and helping them get to where they wanna be. Here's some right off the top in which Will did reach back. 1987: Ice Cream Tee appeared on "Guys Aint Nothin But Trouble" on Rock the House 1991: El Sid and Jazz Fresh appeared on "Trapped on the Dance Floor" on Homebase 2005: Will worked with young producers known as "The Freshman" I think Jeff definitely did more than Will but it also is attributed to the fact Will has been dedicated to Hollywood the last 10 years..
