  1. I think I found the article!! http://books.google.com/books?id=-yYEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA168&lpg=PA168&dq=One+day+Jazzy+Jeff+was+working+on+his+mixtape,+and+we+had+Eminem+down+there.&source=bl&ots=4HA3IWTJGk&sig=KJIFpQGP2IpzVP77LLzgNJc9z1g&hl=en&ei=yj7rS6CmAYSdlgf_5NycBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBIQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=One%20day%20Jazzy%20Jeff%20was%20working%20on%20his%20mixtape%2C%20and%20we%20had%20Eminem%20down%20there.&f=false
  2. Thanks alot Jin and Ted, do you have a link to the article at all? It would def be ground-breaking. I really wonder what the intention was for when Em dissed Will, I heard that it was because Will won a VMA in '99 and said he never cursed in any of his records or killed anyone in any of his records but still manages to get up here and accept the award. I mean, yes its old news but its very interesting to me. I wonder what Jeff thought the whole time..
  3. I was just searching for some Skillz material online and this interview from a couple years back came up...I know this was posted before but I'm just a little confused... http://theurbandaily.com/music/jbarrow/qa-skillz-bags-up-fake-rappers/ ---------------- UD: To that point, do you feel you’ve picked a couple fights yourself, particularly with Eminem? Kinda goading him a little bit? S: Maybe one time. But you gotta understand, any time I throw your name out there in a verse, in a disrespectful way, I feel like I have a reason. I never just pick on somebody. Not to discredit Em- he might be the greatest white rapper of all time. The dude is nice, you can’t take that away from him. But he dissed a person that’s very close to me. And I didn’t like it. And that person did not say anything, because to even answer Em would be beneath him, to the public eye. He said something about someone very close to me and I didn’t appreciate it. UD: When he dissed Jermaine Dupri? S: Nah. Jermaine Dupri and I ain’t friends at all. He said something about Will. UD: Will Smith? S: Right. And I didn’t appreciate it. Especially after he had been to Jazzy Jeff’s studio, recorded a song with Jazzy Jeff and Will. You know, who the **** is going to meet the Fresh Prince and be cocky? We all wanted to be the Fresh Prince. What nigga wouldn’t want the career the Fresh Prince has had? What nigga wouldn’t use that as inspiration? When he said, “Will Smith don’t have to curse in his raps to sell records but I do/so **** him and **** you too,” I was like, nah, B. Not after you was just down there in the studio! I ain’t appreciate that. -------------- I'll ask Jeff & Skillz the next time I see them about this...unless Skillz is talking about "When to Stand Up" cause perhaps Will was in the studio but just not on the track.
  4. I agree with that. If Eminem can set the tone for rap again by utilizing this single, maybe there is some hope as rappers will want to conform to Eminem just like how Auto-tune has been the latest "trend". I really like the new single and hopefully his album will be good. I'm not crazy about Eminem, he's got skills but I just dont like his high-pitch voice and the content of the songs. This is easily the best song since "Lose Yourself" or maybe even "Toy Soldiers" or "When I'm Gone". There's only so many times you can rap about your addictions, your horrible pastlife, your on and off again wife Kim and your mom. Crap gets old real quick and look, Em is nearing 40 now, like Jay-Z said a few months ago, you cant rap and relate to 15 year olds, the music needs more maturity and I feel "Not Afraid" is a great example of the possible maturity we're about to see.
  5. Dear Mama - you are appreciated
  6. Whoa...talk about a small world! That one comment on the video is a girl I know that I went to HS with LOL...small world! Can't believe I didnt see this! The irony of it all.....Will turned down MIT to pursue rap LOL
  7. Yah this is real cool...I read something about this a few months back but I'm glad its progressing..hopefully they can make a new album too
  8. Happy Birthday AJ!! Enjoy! ....throw on Jay-Z "30 Somethin" lol
  9. Ah I have heard this before! Thanks Julie!
  10. LOL...my thoughts exactly when I read this, sohh makes it seem like its such a sophisticated process, of course it starts with ideas and producers who you want to work with...lol Ted - I FULLY agree with you...Nas used to be able to pick dope beats and work with real good people but I didnt like his last album..the only track I liked was "Hero" - Polow Da Don gave him a KILLER beat which I thought the entire album would have a similar sound but the production was very tiring and boring.
  11. Please Julie upload it if you can
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Suits_Comin%27_%28Nod_Ya_Head%29
  13. Wait, is there 2 seperate remixes? Nod Ya Head and MIB2 Remix or is it just Nod Ya Head?
  14. Does anyone have the Nod Ya Head MIB2 Remix? Its the one remix I dont think I've heard...can anyone up this for me?
  15. I'm real excited for this new album! I need some new Kanye badly...his last album was good in my opinion (Paranoid, Heartless...etc) but you really need to be in the mood for it because there is a serious contrast from Graduation (uplifting and happy) to 808s (depressed..etc) considering he did make the album based on his depression from his gf dumping him. Call me crazy, but I'd def put Kanye in my top 20..hes a great rapper, producer...etc. I saw this same article too a couple days ago, Premo, Q-Tip and Pete Rock are some great people to work with. Bye bye autotune and take it back to the essence. I guess every rapper needs to make an experiential album to release their creative juices and 808 was good but not up to par with his prior 3 albums.
  16. Without a doubt Ted...it kinda sucks knowing Black Suits Comin was probably the hardest song on the album, well aside from the Born to Reign title track - still cant believe he made this a 2 minute track!!! Unbelievable..I still remember (even though I was 14) first listening to Born to Reign and thinking how the energy and vibe kinda went downhill after the title track.
  17. What do you guys think of B.o.B? He's gaining my attention, his flow is pretty good and he can rap, sing, play guitar and piano I believe. I'm sure some of you heard his hit "Nothin on You". I recently saw him open up for Lupe Fiasco in Atlantic City and he was surprisingly really good for a new artist. Nothin on You YouTube | B.o.B - Nothin on You I'll be in the Sky.. YouTube | B.o.B - I'll Be in the Sky New album comes out on April 28 - The Adventures of Bobby Ray
  18. Love that idea Tim, I can totally picture that. Black Suits Comin I still think is pretty hot...Will spits one of his best lines ever ..."the best looking crime fighter since myself in part 1" hahah
  19. Jay-Z is the truth. I use to hate on him but he's had a tremendous career. I've listened to just about everything he ever spit and he's that damn good.
  20. Thats a pretty hot track Turntable - thanks for that. As far as Peedi goes, I'm with AJ, I wish Jeff used someone else for that classic. Then again, I feel like 2K7 should've just been all JJ+FP.
  21. Thank you! LOVED THAT! My God I miss JJ+FP...amazing stage performers!
