Uh oh...that guy seems to have the concept of rhythm down.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It's one of those few days when we get everything right...families get together, people eat real food (other than fast food and stuff out of the microwave), most people are off work, and everyone puts their pettiness away. Reflect on what's important today realize how blessed you really are even if you're in the midst of a tough time.

TLC - My Secret Enemy Red Light Special (CD Single) (1995) Always one of my favs. Icky Minaj might have bit Left Eye's high pitch voice from the CraZySeXyCOol era but songs like this make you wonder how pop stars like Minja ever got a deal.

Kriss Kross - 'Jump' Instrumental
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Caught in the Middle
Brakes, did you ever find it? I went through my Kris Kross CD singles and one of them has the instrumental. It's actually more of a dub or TV track because it has their vocals on the hook and the background vocal chants that play off of the main vocals. That means that if you are rhyming with the track, you'll HAVE to use a couple of words in certain places or the background chants will sound completely random...lol. If you need it, I'll see if I can get an MP3 out 2 u in a week or so. -
I'm sorry to hear that. Every time I've had a pet pass away, it's been a devastating thing. I can only imagine how you feel. Be thankful that you were able to enjoy the time that you did and know that you gave them a good life while they were here.

You make things that I didn't know could exist. I love the "Room" explanation. I await the day when you specify which room. I'm anxiously waiting the "Party Starter (Bathroom Mix)"...complete with sounds such as dripping faucets and flushing toilets.

THE FRESH PRINCE AT HEAVY D'S FUNERAL
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
And from the viewing...featuring Flavor Flav, Russell Simmons, Chris Rock, Puffy... http://globalgrind.com/news/heavy-d-viewing-wake-funeral-mount-vernon-dead-died-details-photos?gpage=0#gtop -
It's no real surprise but the 'Prince was at Heavy's funeral...as was Jada, Queen Latifah, Jay-Z, Puffy, John Legend, Samuel L. Jackson, etc. Here's link that has a few pictures of them arriving. There isn't much to the article tho.' http://globalgrind.com/news/heavy-d-funeral-final-tribute-barack-diddy-jay-z-grieve-rapper-photos?gpage=0#gtop

I think Drake and Big Sean are clowns. I kinda like that Ludacris went at them but the beat is trash and there's too original about the lyrics. With that said, after "Hit 'Em Up" and "The Ripper Strikes Back," every diss record has sounded pretty bland...lol.

I got this from Myspace music news. I just wanted say that I'm happy to read this news. Rihanna is an amazing artist to me but after the Chris Brown altercation, she off the deep end with "I'm dark, I'm edgy, and half naked." I'm hoping this is a big step to her returning to her roots and focusing more on R-N-B with traces of dancehall and less watered down dance. I know her current song is a club song but it's much more tasteful some of her other stuff from the Rated R album. Loud was a small step in the right direction so it looks like she's on the right track.

Rihanna to ‘Scale Back’ Her Sexy Image! Noooo! By Caitlin O’Toole • 1 day ago . Rihanna has been promoting her new album “Talk That Talk,” and you may have noticed that she’s been a little bit tamer these days in the appearance department. Or maybe you haven’t. But she is. . “I kind of just wanted to scale back, instead of having a look,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show. . “I didn’t want to make it such a big deal, like what hair color. I wanted to go back to something simple, something flexible; something a little more natural. It’s more about the music. I don’t want to become a gimmick, ever.” . Rihanna also talked about her latest single, “You Da One.” . “This is one of those records, it becomes very addictive. To me, it’s very infectious: the more you listen to it, the more you want to listen to it. It had a reggae vibe, but it’s a sweet little love letter. I love the record. It’s kind of dirty, I love it.” We do, too!

Anyone who has downloaded my music over the years...
JumpinJack AJ replied to Vipa's topic in Caught in the Middle
That sucks. I hope you are able to get them all back. I lost a lot of my downloads from years ago but I'll see if I have anything. When I looked thru' my MP3's over the weekend, I think I saw your remix of Common Sense's "The Light" in there. -
Heavy D deserves more credit than he will ever get. Not only is he one the best emcees of all time, he helped so many others get on. Heavy D was involved in getting nearly every Uptown artist at the level of success they had. Without Heavy D, there would have never been Bad Boy Records. There would have been no Soul IV Real or Monifah. He mentored groups like Naughty By Nature. He helped Hip-Hop get embraced by R-N-B and Pop by collaborating with hearts like MJ and Janet. It was no secret that Heavy and Biggie were tight. They did "A Bunch of N****s" on Blue Funk (also featuring Guru and Busta Rhymes). They did a song on the NBA Jam session album and the classic "Let's Get It On" with 2Pac and Grand Puba on Eddie F's album. I've never been a huge fan of Biggie but I'd like to hear an album from them from the mid-90's era. I have a feeling a much realer side of Biggie would have been exposed.

Don't get me wrong, I have some interest in Willow's album, but this news spiked my interest a thousand times.

Lerkot, your music leaves me...speechless. It is definitely for a select group of people...lol.

Erick Sermon Suffers Heart Attack, DJ Scratch Says 'He's Ok'
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I saw this news with Russell Simmons first posted it on Facebook. I couldn't take anymore bad news after the loss of Heavy D. I'm happy to hear he's okay. He's had a few rough things happen over the past few years. I finally recently got around to picking up the latest EPMD album. -
LL Cool J Releases New Single!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Alex Marques's topic in Caught in the Middle
This is the dopest thing I've heard in awhile!! The lyrics are on point and relevant. Ne-Yo is actually singing for the first time in awhile. I love the sound to. The foundation of the beat and guitar sounds great. I'm not crazy about the "digital" sounds but they do add some flava to the song. This is track is all around great and I hope it's a huge hit for LL. Hip-Hop NEEDS this to be big. I'm still mentally held down from the passing of Heavy D, but this has lifted my spirits some. Thanks for sharing this! -
JJ+FP has never been much for collaborations. In today's radio forecast, it's bleak, embarrassing, and ignorant. There aren't many artists for them to consider working with. I rather hear quality music rather than excess for the sake of doing so. I prefer to only have Jeff on the boards. For a "solo" record for FP, I'm okay with a few producers working with him as long as its quality. I could care less if it's a big name, I just want to hear him rhyming over good beats.

Kriss Kross - 'Jump' Instrumental
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Caught in the Middle
I just looked on ebay and the instrumental is available on import CD singles and 12" vinyl. It didn't have the version of the single that I have so I'll have to dig. I won't mind getting one of these other versions but they are a bit overpriced for what they are worth. I'll keep u posted. -
Kriss Kross - 'Jump' Instrumental
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Caught in the Middle
I don't think I have it and I don't think it was released. I have the CD single and I think it only has those Hip-Hop/dancehall remixes that feature Supercat (the Kris' don't even rhyme on those remixes. think the instrumental to the remix is on there but it's a completely different song. I'll check for it in the next day or so. I imagine it would have been on the vinyl single or DJ promo releases. -
HEAVY D + THE BOYZ - Don't You Know Livin' Large (1987) I never really embraced his first album as much as his others...but this week has me going back to it.
