  1. Time to bring this topic back. Anyone get The Best Man Holiday soundtrack? R. KELLY - Christmas I'll Be Steppin' Best Man Holiday Soundtrack (2013)
  2. This is a great idea! Chopping it up in little highlights that will get hits and then linking it to the full interview could spread it like wild fire. I also like that you put "A Touch of Jazz" under it. The volume of the music is perfect too.
  3. MC Hammer "This Is The Way We Roll" Too Legit To Quit (1991) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGrOzt1m_Lw I passed by the music video for this Saturday Night Live performance (that starts around the 40 mark). It's got everything that was right about 1991...Hammer's dance moves, the kid from the "2 Legit 2 Quit" music video, a live band, his entire posse, baggy clothes, bright colors, and the east coast stomp. LOL
  4. I really like this song. I've always liked Jhene and I'm glad she has a new fire under her career. Jaden is still monotone, but I like where he rhyme went and that he didn't deliver it in a lazy way. Great song.
  5. Well dang...this is about the only news-worthy thing when it comes to break-up rumors. I'm curious what the symbolism means in this... http://www.bet.com/news/music/2013/11/21/jada-pinkett-smith-fuels-divorce-rumors-with-new-video.html?cid=socialMusicCeleb_20131121_14764394 Jada Pinkett-Smith Fuels Divorce Rumors With New Video Smith gets "Stuck," tosses her wedding ring. By BET-Staff Posted: 11/21/2013 07:44 AM EST Filed Under Music News, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith Mama Bear Jada Pinkett-Smith is keeping those pesky divorce rumors alive with her band Wicked Wisdom's new video, "Stuck," which ironically looks a lot like a Will Smith movie. In the intro, the rocker sits alone in a room, staring at her wedding ring. She then loosens it from her finger and lets it fall to the floor before she walks off to belt out lyrics like, "I remember when you kissed me/ Said you'd always love me/ Your words broke me and left me there/ Staring at a shadow," and "Some nights I feel the way you touch me/ Those nights I believe that you once loved me/ Tonight I wish that you could hold me/ And now it's time to end this story." She posted the clip to her Twitter Sunday (Nov. 17) along with the message: "The idea being that when we concentrate on dealing with and cleaning up our own stuff... all things fall in place." For the past couple of years, her now 17-year marriage to Will has been the subject of separation rumors, fueled most recently by gossip that he cheated on her with a co-star in his upcoming film, Focus. He's attempted to put all that to rest, saying in an interview with Necole Bitchie earlier this year, "There is nobody on Earth that I would still try to be better for [...] Jada is a beast." By the end of "Stuck," Jada has been "reborn," emerging from a lake dressed in white. She stares at her hand again, the wedding ring back on her finger. "Stuck" is the first single from the nu metal band's next, still incomplete, album. Their first two albums were released in 2004, My Story; and 2006, Wicked Wisdom. 6. BEYONCE - God Made You Beautiful (upcoming album) (2013) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D44pl4eyRa8#t=164 This is inspired by her daughter. I really love the song. The only thing I'd change would be to make the music more honest. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but a tad overproduced and over polished...mostly during the chorus. I feel this is a good sign, further showing that watered down dance beats are dying. More artists are slowly shifting back to a real sound. The fact that this song is rooted in something personal shouldn't be as special and rare as it is. And whoa, having the word "God" in a song title is nothing you see anymore either.
  7. "Self Destruction" is a classic cut, but I actually like "Heal Yourself" better. I'm actually listening to the album right now...and there's another amazing posse cut. When is the last time emcees got together and did a posse cut. Especially one that was relevant. SALT-N-PEPA, KOOL MOE DEE, KRS-ONE, DOUG E. FRESH, CHUCK D, DMC, DJ RED ALERT, MS. MELODIE, KID CAPRI, ZIGGY MARLEY, GRAND DADDY I.U. - Family Got To Get Busy Civilization Vs. Technology (1991)
  8. Latifah interviewing Christina Aguilera... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPZz6eButhA
  9. KRS-ONE, LL COOL J, QUEEN LATIFAH, BIG DADDY KANE, MC LYTE, RUN DMC, MS. MELODY, FREDDY FOX, KID CAPRI - Heal Yourself H.E.A.L. - Civilization Vs. Technology (1991) This is a forgotten posse cut that is AMAZING!! Hopefully I'm introducing someone on the board to this.
  10. That's how I felt from 2001 to 2008. I was listening to the album earlier today and I'm still not thrilled with the production, but there I liked more songs this time around.
  11. This isn't news, really just an opinion for the people at Centric. I just figured I'd share. It feels good reading "Will Smith has already confirmed that BB3 is in the works." I'd love to see them team up, but not for Bad Boys 3. FP and Martin need to work as a duo. The comedy comes from the fact that the characters they interact with them are nothing like them. For a second I tried to picture Jamie Foxx as a villian, but I think it works better when you don't have one of the biggest names in Hollywood in those roles for the Bad Boys movies. "Bad Boys 3 Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do, what you gonna do when they come for you? We couldn’t resist. It’s time Bad Boys switch it up a bit. Will Smith has already confirmed BB3 is in the works and we love the Martin Lawrence and Will dynamic duo. Throw in Foxx for a trio and you have some classic comedic moments. As much as the BB franchise is about drama, what made it work so well was the humor done effortlessly by Martin and Will. If you’ve seen Foxx’s standup comedy movie I Might Need Security, you recognize this trio combination as gold." http://www.centrictv.com/whats-good/entertainment/2013/11/14/three-roles-we-d-love-to-see-jamie-foxx-in.html
  12. Queen Latifah is doing big things with her show, so I figured it'd be a good idea to start a topic where we can constantly post interviews and performances from her show. I wanted to start it off with her recent polished performance of "Just Another Day." This is one of my all time favorite Latifah songs, and while I wish it was grittier and the full version, this polished version is still excellent.
  13. Nice. I'm gonna have to listen to it again becuz my brain isn't in a fertile place for it to soak it all in. I love the music you put under it.
  14. The even looks crazy. Trey was easily the best dressed. I want a shirt/tie combo like that! LOL I love Willow in 90's baggy bibs. Jada needs to fix that hair. FP needs to loose the red pants. LOL Let us all acknowledge that he's holding the mic like an emcee.
  15. BUSTA RHYMES + Q-TIP - Thank You (2013) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pImWbM8yii8&feature=youtube_gdata_player Not sure why Lil' Wayne's or Kanye's vocals need to be on this. Fu Schnickens did better with this beat in 1992, but this sound is definitely welcome. I don't like how Busta's voice has changed over the years.
  16. I agree. After "Switch," the promotion was over. He stopped performing on TV shows and at events. "Party Starter" had a visually interesting video, but it didn't fit the song. It broke away from the simplicity that the video for "Switch" had. The time between videos is what truly killed it though. If he would have released it on the heels of "Switch," it would have been a huge hit as well. In 2005, he could have easily had three videos had he approached promotion properly. Music isn't going to slow down the millions from Hollywood, so I doubt there's anyone who cares what he focuses on.
  17. This is the perfect example of two people being silly and some playful pictures getting put on a magazine and a story being added to it. Anyone who would use Star magazine as a source of news is an idiot, which is why this story is dead from the start. The Will/Jada separating story has been published dozens of times over the past 10 years and will continue to be published with any thing they can find, twist, or create to make it fresh.
  18. So, what are everyone's thoughts on the album. I've only listened to it a few times, but my first thoughts are that his delivery is great and the lyrics mostly good. I like how he continues to stay more open with his subject matter, but I'm not crazy about what he music he selected. "Berzerk" grew on me some, but I wish that and the other old school joint on the album were mixed differently...so they had the energy of the tracks on Rev Run's album. Some of the production is just underwhelming. The worst part is that "Don't Front" is the best track he recorded, but it's not on the album?!?!?!?! If anyone can get their hands, PLEASE send it my way!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_1656266429&feature=iv&src_vid=2yBKqqA6WaY&v=M9ll262gdI4
  19. News is getting around. Check out this article... http://keepittrill.com/online/2013/11/grandmaster-jay-angers-hiphop-community-beamz-marketing-gimmick/
  20. I have been following Jazzy's posts since he first brought up this guy. I watched a few of his interviews too. He's a freakin' joke. He talks like an over arrogant 10 year old living a fantasy life that nobody knows about or cares about. He talked condescendingly about Jam Maser Jay and Jazzy Jeff...WHAT?!?! It was funny because in the same interview, he calls himself a billionaire, and then later says how he's a Hip-Hop legend and that others are getting paid for what he's created. LOL What an idiot?!
  21. The rhyme is old, but he sounds so good spitting it. I vote this as the best rap spit from the top of a latter for all of 2013.
  22. His performances on SNL seemed legit...except for him lipsyncing one of the songs!?! Rick Ruben and Skylar Grey were there too. http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2013/11/fans_accuse_eminem_of_lip-sync.html
  23. I agree completely. There's nothing worse than a "sequel" album that doesn't have the artist channeling the original. I suppose it's nice that he tried a different direction with the sound, but the music isn't as good as Recovery. I'm not crazy about what I'm hearing, though it could be much worse.
