Are you getting back to making music anytime?
JumpinJack AJ replied to BigBloss's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, i never listen 2 that song. It never makes the cut of my Jazzy mixtapes for the car either. When i pretend that the remix was never made, life is a little better. -

JJ+FP: NON-ALBUM MUSIC LIST
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm pretty sure that's a mess up. In all of my years in music digging i've never even heard of the song. It's a very generic title...ha ha. -

Happy Thanksgiving To All!(Who Celebrates It)
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Amen 2 that! -
I think that if some new artist were over Kanye's current beats, i would accept them becuz they were from "that kinda artist." Kanye is supposed to be Hip-Hop/Rap. His current music doesn't reflect that. I'm expecting a dope beat like "All Falls Down" but i hear this stuff. It's hard for me 2 appriciate the experimental side of this becuz i think it's awful. Born To Reign wasn't my favorite vibe from FP, but even tho' it was still different, i liked it. Kanye's experimenting isn't like that. I personally think it's awful. I think that if a real singer on a totally different vibe were singing, i would accept it. I don't know that i'd like it then, but i'd ignore instead of being insulted. Kanye has never been a performer but have u seen his recent performances, the music reflects how bad his performances and style have gotten. Mash that up with his ego and ignorant statements...i'm just done with him until he does something good. Y'all knock me for being so against commerical rap and not being open minded but i really am, i listen 2 everything. Think about all the times i would talk about Lurdacris from 2001 up until now. I went from liking him on Timbaland's "Fat Rabbit" in 1998(before anyone outside of GA knew who he was) to not being 2 him, 2 knocking him for having the same subject matter on every song and making annoying 2 dementional songs, 2 cleaning his game up on his last album to liking and buying his new album. It's all opinions. Someone says it's ridiculous for loving Kid 'N Play or M.C. Hammer but i still listen 2 them and i don't lose any sleep at night...ha ha. I can say Kanye's album sucks becuz that's what i think, i'm not being negative.

Yes, with all due respect, i listened 2 Kanye's album and i think it's utter crap from all angles. I listened 2 Ludacris' album and liked it so much that that i bought it. Luda has never impressed me that much. I bought his last album cuz i thought half of the songs were good but i bought it used. This album seemed so good that i actually bought. Sure, there are a few trax that aren't great, but i think he's really developing in2 a dope artist.

Happy Thanksgiving To All!(Who Celebrates It)
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!! Enjoy the day off, chillaxin' with the family and listening 2 "Ain't No Place Like Home." Think about all the good things we have 2 be thankful for. And be thankful for the bad things that are breaking us and molding us in2 better versions of ourselves AND for the good times that lie ahead. One love! -
Go 2 Circuit City...CC's version of Q-Tip's album has a bonus track called "Fever"...and it's dope! It's probably cheaper there 2.

LUDACRIS + DJ PREMIER - MVP Theater of The Mind (2008) I peeped the album earlier 2day and i like more than half of it...so i bought it. I think i'm starting 2 like Ludacris a good bit.
-
Okay, so i watched the movie again and i enjoyed it a bit more than before. Just like I Am Legend, this is at the bottom of my list when it comes 2 Fresh Prince movies but i liked it more a 2nd time around. That bonus features weren't anything 2 special but they kept me interested the whole time. The bonus DVD from Circuit City is definitely worth the trip 2 CC...after all, Target and Best Buy have it at the same price (BB has a wack shirt that u can get with the purchase of the DVD). The DVD doesn't have a strong concept as the title would lead u 2 believe but it's more footage and interviews that aren't included in the standard special features.
-
For those of u in the US who are picking the movie up 2day. I suggest going 2 Circuit City. Not only is their sale price competitive and low, the 2-Disc version is actually a 3 disc version that that's a 22 minute featurette called "How To Be Super: The User's Guid To Hancock." I'm about 2 pop the movie in and i'll let u know how the featurette is afterwards.

I peeped the whole album...it's awful. No redeeming qualities 2 it. It's gotten alot of bad feedback from everything i've read so far.

Will Mentioned in New Common Song.
JumpinJack AJ replied to Big Ben's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Common Sense is one of the best ever and he actually gets mainstream attention. I can't wait 4 this new album. I wish he was referencing it music more than the movie tho.' -
Here's some of the performances from the AMA's. I missed them so this is all i'm gonan see. I have yet 2 find Pink's and Leona Lewis' performances which i'm hoping 2 find soon. Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah are definitely the best of the group. Beyonce actually made her crap song in2 a great performance. Ne-Yo had true shoeman ship. Rihanna sounds awesome doing my favorite song off her new album. Mariah is strangly stiff for her performance. Kanye is akward as crap. Christina seems BIT out of practice. I wish i saw these on TV and not a computer. ALICIA KEYS feat. Keep in mind that The S-N-P Show is a reality show. Scenes are edited and voiceovers are played with 2 be more dramatic and entertaining than real life. Yes, they do have differences and yes, Spin is viewed by some as the 3rd wheel (since non-Hip-Hop fans don't appriciate the DJ) but i never saw their return as a great feat. It always seemed bound 2 happen. I know a new album was coming once the show started airing.

FINALLY!! LL came back (tho' the album wasn't that good), Heavy D has a new album out, Queen Latifah is dropping a new one soon, Naughty is coming back, MC Lyte is doing the Almost September thing. Here comes S-N-P!!! I got this article from someone on the CyberTLC message board. Now Jazzy needs 2 get FP's butt back in gear!! ---- After a seven-year hiatus from touring, pioneering female rap group Salt-N-Pepa are planning to embark on a tour of Australia and Asia. Cheryl "Salt" James-Wray and Sandra "Pepa" Denton are currently booking dates for the tour, which will also feature the group's DJ, Deidra "Spinderella" Roper. The group will hit the road in late 2009-early 2010, as part of a number of upcoming initiatives, which includes a brand new, untitled album. "The main thing about Salt-N- Pepa, is that they are a performing group, which takes pride in their performances and are known as a group that puts on spectacular shows [and] it is strictly about maintaining the brand," group manager Gavin Wray explained to AllHipHop.com. "It is not about the money, we don't necessarily need to do gigs on the regular, we would rather maintain the brand and make the right choices collectively and when the time is right and the group is ready we will hit the stage like we never left. That is one of the main reason's why Salt -N- Pepa's image has been polished and respected as a group on and off the stage for so many years and years to come." Salt-N-Pepa were the first female Hip-Hop group to achieve mainstream success, selling over 20 million records worldwide since their debut in 1985. The group was the subject of their own reality show titled The Salt-N-Pepa Show, which aired on VH1 in 2007.
