  1. It was actually a movie about life, redemption, forgivness, and succeeding. U might wanna watch it again...ha ha.
  2. Yeah, the beats of the 90's...especially the mid-90's had this heavy, layered, solid, classic, timeless sound. The early 90's were hit and miss. Good beats, just some sound dated while others don't. The late 90's were hit or miss becuz the decline in quality...but the mid 90's....even wack artists had good beats back then...ha ha. I just don't understand how we could go from the kinda beats Tribe, De La, Brand Nubian, Heavy D, Queen Latifah, Naughty had 2 the crap u hear Lil' Jon, Lil' Wayne, and T.I. are rapping over.
  3. Okay, i'm finally getting time to write this. SPOILERS!!! I really liked the movie. It's not my favorite FP movie, but i like it alot. The 1st scene really grabs u. And the 2nd real scene makes u hate his character even tho' u don't want 2. I love the way stuff like that messed with your brain and u couldn't figure things out. The confusing flashbacks and stuff like that were all frustrating even tho' u know they were all gonna be cleared up later. I think the "different" factor of the movie makes it different but that it also took away from it a little. I think the 2nd half of the movie was VERY good. The relationship part was just very interesting, the clearing up of his character's past, and how so many little pieces of the movie added up 2 making sense. Overall, i love the idea of a man who is tortured by a mistake he made in his past, how he's suffering becuz of what he's lost, and how he's basically appointed himself as an angel on earth, giving all of his time and everything he had 2 enrich the lives of good people suffering with nowhere 2 go. That's just amazing 2 me. I think there's a piece of that in every person who wants 2 be that person. This may be a movie, but it truely does show that miracles can come true. I do plan on seeing this movie again b4 it leaves theaters.
  4. Merry Christmas everyone!! Relax, enjoy your family, get your head right, and let's make 2009 the best year ever. Peace.
  5. Well, the production isn't bad. Most of the beats on the radio these days are just awful. That's the only thing that has this song one step above the majority of what i hear on the radio. I wasn't complimenting this song...ha ha.
  6. Early in the zero-nine i'll make sure i update this list for their non-album stuff 2gether and individually.
  7. The song is a bit better than what u hear on the radio...and that's not a compilment. When u aspire 2 work with people like Yung Berg, it shows just have far u are stretching yourself. p.s. When u don't have muscles, don't take your shirt off
  8. The Legend of Bagger Vance wasn't obscure tho.'
  9. I'll write a review later. For now, i'm just gonna say i liked it. The 2nd half of the film was amazing. I'll probably see it again (the 1st FP movie i'll see twice in theaters since POH.
  10. DJ JAZZY JEFF + FRESH PRINCE - The Magnificent Jazzy Jeff Rock The House (1987/1988)
  11. Props 2 giving. I admire that. The Scientology part kinda tarnishes it but whatever.
  12. That's the dumbest thing i've read here yet. Why would u brand the movie like that without even seeing it. U don't even know what u are talking about until u see it.
  13. KEITH SWEAT - Once A Year A Christmas of Love (2006)
  14. I'm not reading the reviews until after i see it. I'm still just excited 2 see it. I'm not gonna let the negativity effect my persepective of the film.
  15. I admire this change. I just hope he comes thru' and sticks 2 it. I still can't imagin him making good music tho.' I mean, he's probably still gonna choose wack beats, write awful songs and he's still gonna have that awful voice and flow. Didn't he just release another album? Does that current album reflect this change?
  16. Great pix. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ones are dope...but the JJ+FP ones made live all good.
  17. ANTHONY HAMILTON produced by HEAVY D - So Gone The Point of It All (2008) This new album is so good. Anthony Hamilton is one 2day's greatest soul artists. There's a Andre + Vidal (formally of A Touch of Jazz) track on here as well.
  18. DEBORAH COX - All Over Me The Promise (2008) R-N-B is alive and well!!
  19. I love Q-Tip but i'm not crazy about this at all. The overdone sample has no effect on the ear. The "Hey"s are annoying. But his solo album is so good!! p.s. Please use more detailed topic titles
  20. I'll say it again. This is the first Fresh Prince movie i've really wanted 2 see since Happyness or Hitch. I'm sure this movie will do better than Hancock and I Am Legend....and i'm VERY sure it'll be better.
  21. Reviewers never know what they are talking about. We all have opinions. They just happen 2 get paid 2 share there's. I rarely agree with any reviews. I'm not even in a rush 2 read 'em.
  22. I'll be okay with never hearing another solo album again...give me a JJ+FP record. Like others have said, FP is all over the place. His comments don't have much continuity. At least he isn't saying that he's retiring from music.
  23. I haven't heard any quotes like that. It does kinda annoy me 2 hear things like that. It's all about phases and perspectives. Hopefully his perspective on his career is just a phase. When u wanna be great at 1 thing, u need 2 focus on that 100%. I agree with that. But there is a time and a place for each thing. I used 2 write and rap all of the time. Ever since i was 11. I slowed down around 16 and pretty much stopped at 22. I started acting when i was 16 and didn't start getting really good until 2003. I'm no celebrity, but 2 look at that and compare it 2 the 'Prince makes perfect sense in my head. I wrapped my best show ever this summer and me and my cousin started writing and rapping again. As the months have progress, we haven't kept up as much and i'm not having as much fun with it so i'm already planning more acting. As an artistic person, it's just impossible 2 be truely great at everything. U want 2 be, it just doesn't work. Sometimes u enter those seasons where it seems u can do it all, but those are just seasons. They end and then u have 2 plan smart and follow your heart. FP has been torn away from so many of the things that make him feel motivated and a part of Hip-Hop. The commerical side of Rap is what is at easy access and nearly all of that is pure trash. I understand his lack of motivation. He'll continue acting for the rest of his life. Let's just hope this is a season where his acting will take the front seat and that other things related 2 music are in the future.
  24. Sometimes in life we can't do what we want. I'm sure someone can relate 2 that. He's acting on where he head is at at the moment. I hate that there isn't any new music but know where he's coming from. I do believe we'll get more music...that's why i'm not as bitter as half of the board.
