I don't currently have the money or time to see anyone...lol. But know that I'm still down if the ball gets rolling for this.

The 'love of the game' sensibility came to mind for me as well. The album is great but I think they are selling themselves short. DJ Jazzy Jeff has a name for himself. Ayah has BIG talent. I feel that ultimately they are shorting their own careers. Simply buy pressing a few thousand CDs and getting them out there, they'd have more exposure and get more attention rather than putting the album out free online. People talk about how crappy the music industry is but there are a handful of artists from all genres who are aren't mega popular who are doing well for themselves by putting a project and having it priced at $5-$7. This album is QUALITY...not that watered down crap that rap artists put out on most mixtapes. Even Amazon runs digital specials for $1.99 for big artists. This album NEEDS that treatment in my opinion.

The show had a few good years left in it but I think FP was right to end it when he did. They ended on a high and the show doesn't have weak period or ending like most show have. How is Bad Boys 2, Hitch, etc not funny?!

Will Smith to Bring Back The Fresh Prince?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I would believe a reunion, in the sense that it's the cast together, sharing favorite scenes, bloopers, stories, etc. I could see scripted skits, but store episode and not a movie. They dynamic of the show was perfect during its time and that time has passed. Why some of FP's recent movies have been questionable, he usually knows what projects will not work and doesn't do them and anything beyond a reunion event is PROBABLY not something he'd want to do...because it would be awful. I hope they never try to revamp the show for a new generation. Why this show has more potential to be good reinvented more than others, it would still never be as good. -
I agree 100%. They could have at least sold it in stores for like $7 since a lot of independent albums do well and get attention when they are properly priced.

BROWNSTONE - I Can't Tell You Why (R&B Radio Edit) I Can't Tell You Why (CD Single)/From The Bottom Up (1993) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5XmxDxYV2k I couldn't find the real video which uses the R&B Radio Edit...it's similar but superior to the album version I had to post on this board. MJ knew what he was doing when he signed these girls. Brownstone is one of the R-N-B groups of all time.

Ugh, I keep deleting posts by this idiot.

Old pic of Will and Alfonso Ribeiro
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
No, he wore that jacket kinda often back in the early 90's. -
Truth be told, Hancock is the only movie that I think is truly bad. I Am Legend was good up until the end. Men In Black II wasn't good but it was fun and entertaining. I don't really care about Oscar type movies. I think most of the movies that win Oscars suck or simply don't interest me enough to see them. I like seeing him in movies but I usually don't care about his movies until it's a week before they come out. To me, it's always been about the music.

Weird Question about Jeff
JumpinJack AJ replied to TragicallyInept's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
It was actually Jeff's choice to not be a main character on the show. Jeff has always been about the music. He only did FPofBA because it was "JJ+FP on TV" and because it was funding A Touch of Jazz as they were getting off the ground. Jeff actually had it in his contract that he didn't have to do a scene without FP in it. You can find all of this info in one of Jazzy's interviews. They actually wanted to write entire episodes about him but he wanted a limited role in the show. -
Tim, ...we are not speaking for the next 5 minutes. lol JODECI - Freek-N-U The Show, The Party, The Hotel (1995)

Yeah, that's my favorite posse cut ever when it comes to the line up. I actually got this Earth Day special on VHS. I taped it when it first aired back in 1989 and a few years ago I found an official release of it. Just yesterday I was thinking about popping it in. -
Weird Question about Jeff
JumpinJack AJ replied to TragicallyInept's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
This is hilarious. FP never left Jeff. He's produced on all of his albums but Born To Reign, he's toured with him and been very involved in his "solo" career. A few years ago Jeff moved from Philly to a house in Delaware. He makes lots of money producing and touring the world dong shows. I haven't seen a good/stupid JJ+FP rumor on line in awhile...lol. -
La Toya Jackson: Michael Was Murdered ... His Kids Have 'Nothing' By Nicki Gostin Posted Jun 29th 2011 09:00PM La Toya Jackson is convinced her brother Michael was murdered. From the bottom of her heart, murdered. And she knows who did it. The second half of Jackson's memoir, 'Starting Over,' deals with her gradual reconciliation with her famous family, specifically Michael. The outspoken singer-actress pulled no punches when PopEater caught up with her to discuss her controversial theories about the King of Pop's death and her belief that Dr. Conrad Murray was just a "fall guy" in an insidious conspiracy to kill. Why? To attain the bottomless pot of gold that is MJ's song catalog. And who told her this was going to happen? Michael. She tells us she's fighting this fight, even if it's unpopular within her family, because she wants what's best for Michael's three orphans. "Michael always used to say, 'La Toya I want to leave everything to my kids,' and here they have absolutely nothing," she said. You think Michael was murdered. Yes, I do. I believe that from the bottom of my heart. The people that he told me were going to murder him are behind his murder. They know that. They know who they are. They're controlling his estate now. (Two people control Michael's estate, executors John Branca and John McClain.) You believe it was over his publishing catalog. That's what he told me. Within a week of his death people he had eradicated from his life completely, came in lurking, asking questions about the catalog, speaking to the attorney who controls the catalog. My brother Michael was clean (when he died), he had no drugs in his system, he was leading a good life. He was unhappy with the way people were treating him. The coroner said there was nothing in him except for the propofol which was pumped in his body and it was enough to kill an elephant. Dr. Murray was simply the fall guy, there were people behind it. It was a conspiracy and they know that. I want to have a one-on-one with Dr. Murray. I would love to sit down and talk with him. You say the English tour was fishy. First of all he told me he never would do a tour again because he said they would assassinate him if he was on stage. He finally agreed to ten shows which he didn't want to do but he agreed and he wakes up overnight and there's 50 shows and they told him he had to do them. They knew he wasn't capable of them, they knew he wasn't healthy enough. He had a kidney problem, he was extremely thin, he was always freezing. They knew what they were doing. This isn't what I'm thinking, these are facts. How does your family feel about you saying this? When you lose a loved one, everybody is so hurt and there were some that said, 'Oh he's dead, let it be and move on,' but no, I need to find out what happened. My mother and father have always been for me and on my side and telling me they're so proud of me, to keep fighting. I love that, it gives me the tenacity to keep fighting and for his children. Michael always used to say, 'La Toya I want to leave everything to my kids,' and here they have absolutely nothing. How are his children doing? They're doing very well thank you. I'm very proud of them. It was my mother's decision to unmask them. She felt like she wanted them to be normal. However I understand why Michael did it. He wanted his kids to have the freedom to go out and not be recognized when they weren't with him. The first half of La Toya's 'Starting Over' deals with her nightmare marriage/union with Jack Gordon. Read my discussion with her here.

MISSY ELLIOT REVEALS THYROID DISEASE STRUGGLES
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
I missed her Behind the Music special and I'm hoping 2 catch the rerun soon. I used 2 LOVE Missy. Her music started changing around 2004 and I've liked it less and less since, but I still hope to see her make a big come back. All of her success and talent are much more admirable after hearing about all of the stuff she went through. Here's a new article from AOL News.... --------------------------------------- Missy Elliott Reveals Past of Poverty, Sexual Abuse Posted on Jun 30th 2011 3:15PM by Contessa Gayles Missy Elliott has opened up about her troubled past of poverty, childhood sexual abuse, witnessing extreme domestic violence between her parents and her ongoing battle with Graves' disease. In VH1's latest 'Behind the Music' documentary which debuted yesterday (June 29), the highly accomplished and celebrated female rapper, who celebrates her 40th birthday tomorrow (July 1), reveals she grew up in dismal state of poverty in Portsmouth, Va. "I remember having mice in the house and my father taking some newspaper and beating me because mice was running on me while I was asleep," she revealed. Missy's mom Patricia Elliott adds, "We didn't have running water ... We were going in a pot that sat by her bed, because we didn't have a bathroom." Missy also shared the shocking story of sexual abuse at the hands of her 16-year-old cousin when she was only 8. She recalls, "Each day he wanted me to come to the house after school. It became sexual, which, for me at eight years old, I had no clue what that was, but I knew something was wrong." "Being molested ... it don't disappear. You remember it as if it was yesterday," Missy adds. The rapper explains the abuse took place over the course of a year, but that she never told anyone at the time. Missy talks about witnessing the abuse of her mother at the hands of her father, which escalated into a gun altercation when Missy was 14. Elliott's mother recalls, "Missy saw that the fight was just beyond measures. My husband said, 'This is it, I'm gonna kill you. It's over!' I was so tired of being beaten over and over I just said, 'Fine, just do it'." Missy picks up where her mom left off, "He pulled the gun out in front of me. I was screaming, 'Daddy, please don't kill my mother!'" Missy's maternal uncle, who was next door, intervened and put an end to the incident, which Missy called the "scariest time in my life." Missy also talked about her recently revealed Graves' disease diagnosis -- an incurable autoimmune disorder, which Missy had been keeping mum about since 2008. After three years of silence, Missy publicly disclosed that she was diagnosed with the thyroid disease after experiencing a frightening loss of muscle control and suffering several other debilitating hyperthyroid symptoms, including mood swings and hair loss. Elliott turned to radiation treatment, which has greatly improved her condition, but cannot cure her of the disease. -
