  1. I have yet to hear the snippet...but just reading on philly.com and like all of you above I rushed on here on my phone (nice mobile version Tim). I'm dying to listen to it!!!!!!!!!
  2. On Sportsradio (94.1 WIP) this morning, a caller said "That's West Philly right there. It's still in him, you knew it before, but it just couldn't be kept in."
  3. Wow - practically everyone I know uses this, and the above responses just taught me a lesson that some things are never as popular as you thought they were... Grooveshark is awesome.
  4. http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/video?PID=DVRfW90dlLsZlZOE465Fbx1CJ_r_785c I was at tonight's game when we wooped the Celtics for coach Collins' 400th win. After the game, Will had something to say for coach..."Larry Bird Ruined my childhood" haha!
  5. A 30 second clip or cut would be just enough at this point....
  6. Everything only felt somewhat right...until I saw that picture. I can't believe it. When can we get the first taste of this album?
  7. http://www.csnphilly.com/basketball-philadelphia-sixers/news/Sale-approved-Will-Smith-among-Sixers-ne?blockID=578970&feedID=694 Tuesday is a big day for NBA basketball fans in the city of Philadelphia. CSN has learned that a press conference called for Tuesday morning at the Palestra by the Sixers will introduce their new ownership led by multibillionaire Joshua Harris, who went to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. (CSN and CSNPhilly.com will air the press conference live at 11:30 a.m.) Last week, the NBA Board of Governors voted unanimously to approve the sale from Comcast-Spectacor to Harris’ group. Harris is one of three co-founders of Apollo Global Management, a private equity group. "My partners and I are thrilled to have become owners of the Sixers," Harris said in a statement released by the team Tuesday morning. "It is an honor to become part of this storied franchise. We have a lot of work to do, but we have a rich history, a strong foundation and a bright future." The group includes numerous investors, including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. "West Philadelphia born and raised," Will was born in Wynnefield and attended Overbrook High School. Another Philly native, Adam Aron, a graduate of Abington High School, Harvard College and Harvard Business School, has been named the franchise's CEO. Aron served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Vail Resorts until 2006 before forming and holding the same title for the consultancy, World Leisure Partners, Inc. "Being named CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers is truly a dream come true," said Aron, who also will serve as an Alternate Governor of the NBA. "Having grown up in Abington, I have always been a fan of this team." The new ownership will be limited in what it can say about its new investment given that the NBA does not allow anyone who works for a team or owns a franchise to discuss any players or the current state of the lockout. While the Sixers are introducing the new regime, federal mediator George Cohen will be overseeing talks between the full bargaining committees for both the owners and players in an effort to end a lockout that began on July 1. NBA Commissioner David Stern has indicated that if the two sides don’t have major movement from Tuesday’s session then his gut tells him they will not be playing NBA basketball on Christmas Day, the first big national television day of the season. That day is supposed to feature a rematch of the 2011 NBA Finals between Dallas and Miami. Cohen met with each side individually on Monday at their respective New York offices and he has been in contact with the two sides for several months. The entire exhibition slate and first two weeks of the regular season have already been canceled. The Sixers were scheduled to play seven games in the regular season’s first two weeks. 8. I GO ON VACATION AND COME BACK TO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had heard Will Smith is taking a minority stake in the Sixers, so I wanted to see what was up on here....BUT THIS IS WAY TOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! JJFP. BACK.
  9. Hey everyone - So this topic just popped into my head (maybe someone has done one similar before?)....I was watching Squawk on the Street, it's a CNBC Financial News program they do before/during the stock market open. And during the segment, right before the commercials, I heard the radio voice, and then Will Smith and Jazzy's scratching! I couldn't believe it. I rewound my DVR and rewatched some 3 or 4 times. So here's my question - Where have you heard songs by Will/Jazzy that really weren't big hits? I'm not talking Summertime, Miami, Switch, etc...I'm talking "So Fresh" type - real diehard songs that never made the radio bigtime. I feel this topic could be fun, because this type of scenario isn't one that I'd just run and tell a coworker - they really could care less. This is pure JJFP excitement haha.
  10. Hey Everyone!!! UPDATE: I reached my goal!
  11. Ok. Can I honestly let myself up to fall again? YES. I'm willing to take this risk. I'm completely sold Will is legitimately in the studio for HIS album. lkadfjghakldhgakdhfgakdhf WOW.
  13. Ah my bad! I didn't know about the master fam thread. Man I've been out of the loop. Hey Visqo - I've been doing the whole career thing! Consulting is a bit of a hectic schedule. I spent my first five months in Southern California, then a bit back home, then San Fran...Now New York for the rest of the year. Whew. I wish I could spin turntables for a living because I got the travel down lol.
  14. So Will Smith decides to make an appearance back home, unbeknownst to his long time friend and bodyguard.... http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/celebrities/20110725_Dan_Gross_.html "OUT AND ABOUT Will Smith surprised the crowd at the Charlie Mack Talented Teens Finals Competition Saturday night at the Yesha Fellowship Hall (2308 Snyder) when he came onstage to encourage kids to follow their dreams. The event was part of the annual Charlie Mack Celebrity Party 4 Peace Weekend. Mack, who also was surprised by Smith's appearance, is a longtime friend and bodyguard of the Overbrook-native superstar. "Streets," a film Mack produced featuring local actress Nafessa Williams, now seen on "One Life to Live," premiered yesterday at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. Broad). Smith was there, too."
  15. Hey everyone, I know it has been ages since I've posted, but I was watching the July 4 Wawa Welcome America: Independence Day celebration in Philly a week ago, and Jazzy really was on full display (along with the Roots). I DVR'd it and had a heck of a time trying to transfer to my computer - but it looks like someone beat me to the punch. Alas, they didn't allow embedding, so here's the link. Start watching at marker 5:55...Jazzy has a 5 minute solo. It was just awesome. Watching some of the guys on stage in just shock was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVQYBBP8zPQ Cheers!
  16. You gotta be kidding me!! We have to find this guy. I was just talking the other day about how I have always wanted to see Will in concert. I didn't go to Live 8 and to this day I regret it. I wish that talk of a reunion tour awhile back had something to it...
  17. Is it possible for me to miss the train any more than in regards to will's (potential) return to music and his MIB3 gig?
  18. Uh. We need Jazzy to comment on this news. Will won't give us an answer until months later (if that). Jeff seems a little more quick to tweet or whatever. I can't believe this news (and that it took me until today to read it....oh Flyers and their incredible run....)
  19. You gotta recognize that Texas has the most backward education board on the planet. I swear the Puritans were more progressive/realistic than them.
  20. Well here's an exaggerated analogy. The extremists in the Middle East get the most coverage, but tend to be the minority in the religions they profess. So do the loudest Eagles fans. They are a vocal minority who are controversial so they appeal to the press more than the rational fan.
  21. I just hope we keep DMac so we could make another run at it since ESPN's rumoring that he's on the trading block along with Vick and Kolb, Colts basically been in the same boat as us in that they usually dominate the NFL during the regular season over the last 10 years but come up short in the playoffs... As I think more about it, really though the one team you could compare the Colts of the '00s most to right now is the 1990s Atlanta Braves of baseball, they did win that one SB in '07 just like the Braves won one WS in '95 despite all the winning seasons.... I'm with you on Donovan. I'm a big time loyalist to him...Larry Fitgerald was quoted yesterday at 610 WIP: "How do [the Eagles] turn a quarterback away that's taken you to the promise land every single year? I mean he's been in the league 11 years, eight playoff appearances. Name me another quarterback that's done that, besides Peyton Manning." I'd give him an extension akin to what Manning gets. Many years. I don't want Kolb and Vick's not worth it.
  22. Yeah man...I just think it makes the case that Peyton's beatable when Dmac and the birds go for it in 2011!!!
