Jeff to post a new track each week - some unreleased!
Bob replied to Da Brakes's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Doesn't look like he's started yet...although I'm enjoying his songs on soundcloud regardless. -
Ok you guys might just have me going to see it. I couldn't stomach how overtly it is as a vehicle for Jaden...but you guys are giving me some hope.

Will says he's been doing some recording

Jaden better not produce a single piece of it....(reserved for a Mr. Jeff Townes) -
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! That's awesome man.

Thanks guys, I definitely appreciate the kind words. And I share AJs perspective that there's something comforting about coming back to the site, it's like coming back home after being away for awhile. Tim, I am blown away by the number of fans/likes on facebook. I remember when it was just a hundred or so members of the group!!! Awesome stuff, I love the updates too!

Hey guys, I just wanted to stop by and say - Tim, everyone here, everyone who still frequents or once frequented this site - you guys are awesome. Seriously. The impetus for this post is that seven years ago I came to this forum for an outlet, for an opportunity to enjoy my favorite artist, and for a community of similarly minded people when it came to good music. At the time, I ended up sharing some important moments in my life, including my first big break up. () At the time, I was at what I thought was rock bottom. I had no idea how to communicate how sad I was, and how pessimistic I was about my future. I came to this forum and you guys were great. This site has created a community that, while it has waned with the lack of music updates from Will Smith, was a needed outlet and break from life sometimes. And with this community and my own personal network of friends and family, I thrived the next several years. I came back to this site today because seven years later I'm dealing with my second big breakup - this time of three years and plenty of expectations (e.g., marriage, settling down). And while I now laugh at how consumed I was back in 2006 with that (now seemingly insignificant) relationship, I realize that those same feelings have come back. People get depressed for a number of reasons. And the number one worst position to put yourself in is one without perspective or the realization that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Believe me, right now I could tell you how I feel like things will never get better, that I had my chance, that the girl of my dreams is no longer in my life. I could swear to you up and down that this time is different and I'm doomed. And then I can look at that post from seven years ago and realize those feelings are natural and almost required to come out of a situation for the better. So thanks to Tim and everyone here for keeping this site up and active, even as the activity has slowed. I never saved that post to my harddrive, but seeing it today was a great wakeup call to me, when I needed it most. It sounds kinda ridiculous but whatever I just wanted to express my thanks.

AJ is the only one with any optimism on this board...but hey, what can I say, we've all been exhausted by the false positives....

Will performs at Gabi Union's 40th birthday party!
Bob replied to gosia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Man I think Will Smith just trolls all of us on this forum. We all know that freestyle like the back of our hands and we still go whole hook line and sinker. Just do another album Will. Please. I'm glad people outside of 'us' (the fan forum types) are trying to get an answer about a new album. Just frustrating. -
I have yet to hear the snippet...but just reading on philly.com and like all of you above I rushed on here on my phone (nice mobile version Tim). I'm dying to listen to it!!!!!!!!!

On Sportsradio (94.1 WIP) this morning, a caller said "That's West Philly right there. It's still in him, you knew it before, but it just couldn't be kept in."

I plan to investigate...

Wow - practically everyone I know uses this, and the above responses just taught me a lesson that some things are never as popular as you thought they were... Grooveshark is awesome.

http://www.csnphilly.com/basketball-philadelphia-sixers/news/Sale-approved-Will-Smith-among-Sixers-ne?blockID=578970&feedID=694 Tuesday is a big day for NBA basketball fans in the city of Philadelphia. CSN has learned that a press conference called for Tuesday morning at the Palestra by the Sixers will introduce their new ownership led by multibillionaire Joshua Harris, who went to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. (CSN and CSNPhilly.com will air the press conference live at 11:30 a.m.) Last week, the NBA Board of Governors voted unanimously to approve the sale from Comcast-Spectacor to Harris’ group. Harris is one of three co-founders of Apollo Global Management, a private equity group. "My partners and I are thrilled to have become owners of the Sixers," Harris said in a statement released by the team Tuesday morning. "It is an honor to become part of this storied franchise. We have a lot of work to do, but we have a rich history, a strong foundation and a bright future." The group includes numerous investors, including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. "West Philadelphia born and raised," Will was born in Wynnefield and attended Overbrook High School. Another Philly native, Adam Aron, a graduate of Abington High School, Harvard College and Harvard Business School, has been named the franchise's CEO. Aron served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Vail Resorts until 2006 before forming and holding the same title for the consultancy, World Leisure Partners, Inc. "Being named CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers is truly a dream come true," said Aron, who also will serve as an Alternate Governor of the NBA. "Having grown up in Abington, I have always been a fan of this team." The new ownership will be limited in what it can say about its new investment given that the NBA does not allow anyone who works for a team or owns a franchise to discuss any players or the current state of the lockout. While the Sixers are introducing the new regime, federal mediator George Cohen will be overseeing talks between the full bargaining committees for both the owners and players in an effort to end a lockout that began on July 1. NBA Commissioner David Stern has indicated that if the two sides don’t have major movement from Tuesday’s session then his gut tells him they will not be playing NBA basketball on Christmas Day, the first big national television day of the season. That day is supposed to feature a rematch of the 2011 NBA Finals between Dallas and Miami. Cohen met with each side individually on Monday at their respective New York offices and he has been in contact with the two sides for several months. The entire exhibition slate and first two weeks of the regular season have already been canceled. The Sixers were scheduled to play seven games in the regular season’s first two weeks. Hey everyone - So this topic just popped into my head (maybe someone has done one similar before?)....I was watching Squawk on the Street, it's a CNBC Financial News program they do before/during the stock market open. And during the segment, right before the commercials, I heard the radio voice, and then Will Smith and Jazzy's scratching! I couldn't believe it. I rewound my DVR and rewatched some 3 or 4 times. So here's my question - Where have you heard songs by Will/Jazzy that really weren't big hits? I'm not talking Summertime, Miami, Switch, etc...I'm talking "So Fresh" type - real diehard songs that never made the radio bigtime. I feel this topic could be fun, because this type of scenario isn't one that I'd just run and tell a coworker - they really could care less. This is pure JJFP excitement haha.

I spent my first five months in Southern California, then a bit back home, then San Fran...Now New York for the rest of the year. Whew. I wish I could spin turntables for a living because I got the travel down lol.

So Will Smith decides to make an appearance back home, unbeknownst to his long time friend and bodyguard.... http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/celebrities/20110725_Dan_Gross_.html "OUT AND ABOUT Will Smith surprised the crowd at the Charlie Mack Talented Teens Finals Competition Saturday night at the Yesha Fellowship Hall (2308 Snyder) when he came onstage to encourage kids to follow their dreams. The event was part of the annual Charlie Mack Celebrity Party 4 Peace Weekend. Mack, who also was surprised by Smith's appearance, is a longtime friend and bodyguard of the Overbrook-native superstar. "Streets," a film Mack produced featuring local actress Nafessa Williams, now seen on "One Life to Live," premiered yesterday at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. Broad). Smith was there, too."
