Nas can lyrically murder Jay-Z. Stillmatic is extremely dope Gods son and Streets disciple were not as good but I hope he sticks to the socially consious style as in "Streets disciple".
Nas is lyrical excellence, ok you could find it boring if you listen to him for the basic sound of the tracks but his rhyme, flow, metaphor and poetic value are on point.
I never get so mad at my friends in that way.Sure I would most surely tell him that he is wrong but I would never disrespect somebody like that. So if I were in your position I would act diffrently but I guess I never was a headstrong person so I guess at the end of the day you will have to go with what you feel is right.
5o dosen't give back to his family. That is rather upsetting since 50 shows off about haaving so much donated to the hood. But I guess he dosent give back to his own ppl but gives to recognised charities which will give him headline and help him sell a million more albums.
Rapping is a lyrical art form so there is nothin using big words and multisyllabic rhymes but the problem is as FP points out that ppl try to sound smart by doing these things. I believe that a perfect rapper can use " big words" and point out a message to ppl at the same time. But sometimes you dont need big words or complex rhymes to make a good verse, for example FP made the 2nd verse of "tell me why" stand out really well for the emotion and honesty.
I feel crunk music as a concept can be made into something quite good. But unfortuantely people who are doing it have not gotten into anything lyrical yet. I quite liked the ice cube and lil jon collab. Nice to see more ppl giving props to Will.
That come back line was twisted. Da Breaks is so dope with his rhymes. Silver Tiger as pretty good too with his Harry Potter line but I voted for Da Brakes.
