  5. i'll keep all of ya'll updated on Lost and Found's 2nd week sales. U can help me out if u want the latest news is that Will looks to sell around 60,000 copies, maybe a bit more. That's a low drop. Good job Will. But Beanie Sigel is taking the hardest drop from last week's debut guys. It looks like he's gonna sell less than Will in his 2nd week with about 50,000 copies. I think WIll is gonna land in the top 5, or around #6 again. No change is better than dropping lower, so go Will!!
  6. here's a 2nd week update with just 25% in LW TW artist / album label power index 1 1 50 CENT SHADY/AFTERMATH/INT 38,439 THE MASSACRE 6 2 NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC V18 EPIC 27,390 VARIOUS -- 3 FAITH EVANS CAPITOL 24,319 FIRST LADY 7 4 LARRY THE CABLE GUY WARNER BROS. 7. ^^^ yeah i hope he doesn't do a remake. BIG mistake
  8. well the support for Will is really high on other forums. Especially Allhiphop.com. Even the D12 website is showin love and ppl are defending him just a strong over there. What's surprising to me is most placing are trashing Common's new CD "BE". There was so much hype on how it was gonna be a classic, everyone thought it was gonna be great, and now after hearing it, they're disappointed. And Common is one of the few most respected rappers out there.
  9. no jive screws anyone who isn't a pop artist. They aren't a rap label. Mobb Deep was on the label, got NO promotion. They left though
  10. i think Interscope. Like ya'll said Columbia ****ed Will as an artist. I've seen a couple TV ads for Lost and Found here in the US. Any CD rarely gets ads on the radio in the US. I've never heard of a 50cent radio ad, or Eminem and they're both huge interscope artists. Also rap CD's won't have ads on other stations than music stations. U can't expect your local station to advertise "the masacre" or "lost and found" cuz it's not the right audience. Your grandma, who's watching the 4 PM news isn't gonna go out to buy a rap CD. Also, Jimmy Iovine didn't stop Will from addressing Eminem. I'm guessin Columbia would stop him.
  11. here's some pics from the show http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news/?...2&c=news_photos ^^^looks like fun
  12. if you've read the book or the script, you'd know it wouldn't be your typical Will Smith role
  13. just to let u know his closest competition is 122-with about 118,000 copies sold or the CD under him the "that's what i call music" CD with about 97,000 so far. If Will can at least hold on to the 5th spot over than dumb compilation Cd, he's good.
  14. latest sales update with 93% in 5) Will Smith -Lost and Found: 98,778 copies sold so far. Looks like it could get 100,000! let's hope so it also moved up ahead of "That's what i call music vol 18." The chart is so far like this 1) 50Cent- the massacre 2) Beck-Guero 3) Beanie Siegel-the B Coming 4) 112-Pleasure and Pain 5) Will Smith-Lost and Found
  15. 2pac is undeniably the best. Been a Pac fan for a long time
  16. ^^^ i hope so... I'll listen to u since u got more knowledge than me in these things. I'll keep on doin personal promotion for Will that's for sure
  17. ^^^maybe to us, cuz he's the underdog right now... but his haters are gonna hound him for this... Hopefully, he doesn't drop in sales and stays consistent. That way, he might even get to platinum status like John Legend.
  18. he should definitely put out another single soon. Not "tell me why"-it's too dark
  19. it looks like Lost and Found will come in 6th place with sales just under 100,000. I was hopin he would sell 100,000+ his first week. Final figures are out tomorrow
  20. yes! I loved Matheson's book and there have been rumors for awhile that Will was gonna be attached to star. I dunno about the director though. I was hopin someone better, but Maybe Francis lawrence ccan pull it off.
  21. ^^^what r u talkin about? His hair was full last week on TRL. It looks the same to me
  22. great post. That's exactly what I was thinkin. Critics are never satisfied. It's the same with Will's movie. They just can't get over their hate for the man. The important thing though is ppl who listen to rap are responding well to it. Critics are usually 50 yr old men who live in their mom's basement, having no dates on Friday type ppl anyways.
  23. nah... i disagree. Do u have Luda's albums? I have Back for the First Time, Word of Mouf, and Red Light District. I think he is one of the better mainstream rappers out today. You cannot compare him to **** artists like Chingy, Nelly, or Trillville who have zero lyrical skills at all. Whenever Luda guest on a track, he outshines the original artist. People do complain about his content, but then they obviously haven't listened to his CD's. He does do some serious songs, but he is mainly a fun/humor rapper. That's what he's loved and famous for, so that's what you're gonna get. The fact that he also has shown a lot of respect for Will in the past and now, gets him more props from me. Also your remix idea... sorry but no. This is 2005. People have evolved and sadly whether u like it or not the majority of ppl are lookin for new stuff. Not old-school nostalgia
  24. woah... that girl claimin to have Will's baby is crazy...
