How can u not believe it?!? They are touring now!! It's funny cuz with Columbia, it waz like they were using his music 2 promote the movies. With I, Robot, Will has flipped the script and is using I, Robot 2 promote his return 2 music.

I still prefer a JJ+FP track over any other track. But i ain't mad at a Kanye West track. If it's on the level of Talib Kweli's "Get By," Dialated People's "This Way," or Janet's "My Baby," i expect 2 hear good things. However, i have heard a few things he's produced that were very average. I love Will talking about other music he listens 2. Let's u know what he's thinking. I think Will is alot lot some of us where Hip-Hop is your 1st love...but that theres never alot of new Hip-Hop 2 get your hands on AND not any new Hip-Hop u even get exposed 2 cuz it dosen't get any promotion.

For those many MJ fans who visit this board, VH-1's movie Man In The Mirror airs this weekend on Fri, Sat, + Sun at 9. I don't know how it is (after all, they movie they made on MC Hammer 2 years ago waz awful with false details thrown in) but i'm definitly interested in checking it out. For those other Michael Jackson fans...what are your thoughts now b4 seeing it?!?

MC HAMMER INTERVIEWS -N- NEWZ
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I'm watching re-runs of the 1st season of The Surreal Life (which featured MC Hammer, Emmanuel Lewis (Webster), Gabrielle (90210's Andrea), one of the Survivor girls, a guy from the Goonies, and Vince Neil from Poison..or some rock group of the 80's). Anyways, i only caught 1 or 2 episodes of it so i'm glad VH-1 is airing it now. There waz just an epidsode where all the girls when 2 a stip club and the fellas went 2 some place 2 eat. The guy from the Goonies was narrorating the event and stressed how they were kinda worried about eating there cuz of all the young street kids in their. The whole place waz just filled with loud young people and the guys were just sitting at the table all paranoid. Some guys in their 20's recognized Hammer who waz comfortable as could be there. Next thing u know, they are dancing in there having a ball. Everybody waz give kickin' it with Hammer and having a good time. It just goes 2 show that alot of people may clown people like MC Hammer, Fresh Prince, and so on...but young people love and respect the pioneers of real Hip-Hop music...no matter how soft they say they are. Hammer just comands attention and a good time no matter where he is. A few hours later they are all on this bus and they find out they have 2 go 2 church the next morning. Hammer sheds the pimped out leather gear he had on and gets dressed 2 preach. Of course it waz mad edited for the TV show but u could feel how powerful his sermon waz. He pulled up Vince Neil who waz bitter for the death of his daughter 2 cancer and stopped praying. Hammer drug him up there and stressed the issue. He brought the people 2 their feet, had tears rolling and brought Vince back 2 praying. Powerful stuff...i just gotta say MC Hammer is the man!! I'm proud 2 say that his Please Hammer, Dont' Hurt 'Em album waz the 1st cassette i officially bought. p.s. this isn't a religous post...so nobody trip....just sharing 4 those like Jim who are down with da Funky Headhunter. -
Did you get a sticker with your copy?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jonny 5's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I got posters from most of my import Will Smith CDs singles...all in the cases still. -
People like that are exactly the kinda people that could be legit fans but need the exposure 2 the new music.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DA BRAKES
JumpinJack AJ replied to WildWildWillennium's topic in Caught in the Middle
Happy B-Day!! -
4 quite sometime, u haven't needed any talent or intellegence 2 sell records. Look at most of the people who has success. De La Soul can drop an album with solid, multi-flavaed production, a wide range of comical to deep lyrics and put out a solid album, but they won't crack the top 10. It just goes that way...if u suck, u go platnium easy, if u are a real artist...good luck getting your song played.

2day it listened 2 Kevin Lyttle's album, Janet's "Damita-Jo" and a mixtape of stuff from the summer and fall of 1998 filled with trax by Aaliyah, Timbaland, Ginuwine, Destiny's Child, Mya, Jagged Edge, Ice Cube, Bone, Ray-J, Montell Jordan,...and the list goes on.

Playa, iz u crazy!?!? :hilarious: It's still in the CD insert...SAFE...where it belongs. -
I e-mailed Jeff's personal assistant about 2 weeks ago asking about a heads up on JJ+FP touring and she never got back 2 me. I'll send another e-mail soon cuz usually she'll let me know what's up and relay messages 2 Jeff 4 me from time 2 time.

It's good 2 know cars in the future are gonna look real cool. I just may have 2 get that same model...but in red of course. It looks like it's in pretty good condition considering that tunnel scene. Thanx 4 the Jazzy Jeff pix!! I still have nearly a dozen of Jazzy Jeff 2002 pix i never shared.
-
I wouldn't say "IN STORES" in the sig. How do we know there will be a single, ya know. A single would be nice tho'....remixes, maybe another track or something.
-
I would only dance 2 a Nelly song if it waz his last farwell-to-rap song. Dancing 4 joy that his wrath of ruining music in the name of rap would be over.
-
I just want the relaxed subject matter of Born To Reign, the agressivness, topic variety, and the flawless ATOJ-styled produciton of Willennium, and the good-tyme feel of Big Willie Style. However, i don't want him 2 do stuff like he's already done...i don't want it 2 be like past albums. I want totally fresh, new skool stuff from him that surpasses the standards set by his past work. How do any of us have the right keep him in one place. Let's just let Will go crazy and see what happens.

Lyric Shaggy ft Sean Paul & Will Smith - Hey Sexy
JumpinJack AJ replied to TonyAlonso's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
There is actually 2 versions of this remix. The one version may be totally unreleased which has a slower (and better) verse from Shaggy, Sean Paul's verse is the same, FP's is the same EXCEPT it dosen't have his beatbox under the end of Sean Paul's verse (which is actually quite cool). This remix waz done in the summer of 2002 when Shaggy's album "Lucky Day" waz coming out and FP's "Born To Reign" waz coming out. The remix is tight and i think it would have done well on the radio and as a music video. The remix waz released on various versions of Shaggy's album but FP's verse is NOT on it. U can find this remix on the rare reggae compilation album "Sexy Lady Explosion." Oh yeah, and these lyrics are pretty close but a lil' sloppy compared 2 what they really are. These lyrics go with the version on the "Sexy Lady Explosion" album. -
Really? I hate that song. I love The Neptunes, but that beat waz trash. Nelly of course just whined and talked about nasty stuff. The lyrics were garbage and that hook drove me 2 drink. :drunk: I honestly think it's the personification of what the worst music in the world is like.
-
Nobody is perfect, but 90% of the people who have remote celebrity status don't deserve people 2 look at them as a role model cuz they are nasty, selfish, greedy liars. It's people like Will who not only deserve the title of role model, but other celebrities should try 2 fix their life and their outlook on life 2 be more like his. It's not hard 2 be positive and real as the same time.
-
FP has always had a certain amount of haters calling him soft but those people also never bought his album (or even heard them). They heard the singles, which recently only reflect the party joints. It up 2 us as fans 2 present ourselves on places like message boards as true Hip-Hop fans and positive people all around so people will even consider respecting our opinions. This album may be the easiest 2 promote the proper Fresh Prince product 4 Hip-Hop fans. Most of us are intellegent, respectable, postive people (which is probably why we are pulled towards Will and his music). I think that is our best weapon. When B2K fans came up on the WS board acting all stupid, would we give them a chance?!? Heck 2 the NizzO!! I think B2K made some decent music but that's cuz i checked it out 4 myself...not cuz some ignorant 10 year came in there saying "Holla." Neither would i check out a rapper if someone came in their dissing Will and talking about their fav rapper. However, i know Tim just about as well as u can know someone thru' the internet only, and when he comes 2 me like "AJ, u need 2 hear this track"...i'll definitly give it a listen cuz i know he has good taste and judgement. I'm just saying that as supporters, we can make a big difference with this album and it's our character that will make it happen. The sig will put the word out, but it'll be our character that makes other people care...then hopefully Will will have proper music video and radio support 2 take it from there. Someone shut me up!! :blah:
-
It's bad enuff that he himself thinks he makes good music (didn't he grow up on any good Hip-Hop). But the fact that millions of people would think a track like "Hot In Herre" waz good enuff 2 buy "Nellyville" baffles me. I heard probably half of Nellyville thru' videos, and radio and stuff and "Dillemma" waz the only good song on it (from what i heard). I can't believe it kicked Born To Reign's butt!!
-
This sounds good so good!! As general as the statement is, it sounds exactly like what his music needs. I'm sure we can expect flava from all of his albums as an influence but with a new skool fine tuning for the 2-0-0-4. I think it'll be alot like Willennium but without the Will 2Ks, Freakin' Its, and Da Buttas. I can't wait 4 a taste of this album!!
