  4. OMG! lol i just saw the ad with the whole family in it, it's hilarious! I'm gonna "spoil" it for our friends here @ JJFP.com who don't have the BET channel here's my description of the "Smith Family Robinson" ad lol: the whole family sitting on the couch, the guys in jeans and blazers, Jada and Willow (on daddy's lap) in dresses and they go "hi we're the Smith family" and Will says something along the lines of "Jada and I are hosting the 2005 BET awards" she says "and we promise to make it an event the whole family can enjoy" and Will goes "even the kids" and gives Willow a kiss on the cheek while Trey looks on, and Jada smiles @ Jaden, then the bell to signal the end of recording goes off: (lol) the funny part: Willow: "I'll be in the limo!" Jaden:"this is some crap! we look like a bunch of suckas!"(he storms out) Jada:"What we look like is we got some good (bleep) sense" Trey:"I bet Snoop's kids don't have to do this kinda bull(bleep)!"(walks out) Will: "I bet Snoop's kids know how to fight though!" Trey:" that's why you use stunt doubles in your movies!" Jada" "ooooooooooooooohhhhhh!" Will: "you gon' wish you had a stunt double when i'm tying fire to that a**" goes off with Will and Jada on the couch alone lol hope some of you guys with BET can catch it cuz it's funnier than my description
  5. he looks good, loved the entrance...sick of Switch lol
  6. thnx Angel i'll be sure to watch it :2thumbs: i can believe they been together for ten years, it just doesn't seem like all that time has passed, that was quick lol...they're the next Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, I pray Will and Jada will last 56 yrs.(or more) like they did :wiggle:
  7. I said yes b/c i do believe in prayer and it's powers even though i've never considered myself an overly religious person..personally I think it's something good to add to the forum and on that note AJ sorry to hear about your dog, it can be tough watching animals get sick b/c it's like they're so helpless, esp. when they're more like a member of the family... i hope your dog gets better
  8. we usually in that 20 questions thing they're being sarcastic or trying to take a stab @ an artist, i remember once they said something about Bobby and Whitney then in another one they were like "how many times does Ashanti say "aww baby" in her song?...just really stupid
  9. The third phase of the BET AWARDS '05 promos feature hosts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and play up the "Off The Meter" theme in two hilarious story lines. In the "Smith Family Robinson" ads premiering June 10, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith along with their three children are shown as a smiling, happy family promising a BET AWARDS telecast that BET viewers of every age can enjoy. As soon as they think the cameras have stopped rolling, viewers see they are really on a soundstage and the family starts bickering with each other. The second series of ads premiering June 17 show Will Smith being forced to play "love doctor" by helping rock legend Ike Turner reunite with Tina Turner. BET AWARDS '05 television spots will air nationally on UPN, VH1, TV Land and Noggin a week prior to the premiere telecast as well as on 10 local cable markets including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, Miami, Dallas and Baltimore. i can't wait for the TV ads! gonna be hilarious, i know...the Smiths are doin' it big in '05 i don't think even the love doctor can get Ike and Tina back together lol i've seen the ads of that guy interrupting Ciara's rehearsal, and changin the dance routine... too funny!
  10. more on the awards: http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories....03821443&EDATE= Innovative Marketing Campaign Launched to Support the LIVE June 28 Telecast Features Hosts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith WASHINGTON, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Specifics on the BET AWARDS '05 are "Top Secret" -- only a few details have been leaked and all we know for sure is that BET AWARDS '05 is going to be "Off The Meter!" BET is supporting its claim with an extensive national and grassroots marketing campaign valued at more than $2.5 million using "top secret" and "off the meter" as central themes. The campaign includes radio advertising and promotions; national television ads on BET and other Viacom-owned networks; print ads in popular African-American publications; outdoor and transit advertising; in-theater promotions at Magic Johnson properties; local cable buys; contests; an extensive media relations initiative surrounding high-profile celebrity honorees and nominees; a grassroots program utilizing movie theaters, beauty and barber shops and dance clubs; and exciting new innovative elements for national advertisers and sponsors. The 2004 BET AWARDS telecast smashed records as BET's #1 telecast ever (4.61 overall Nielsen household rating). The Network's 2005 salute to music, sports and entertainment premieres on Tuesday, June 28 "LIVE" from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre with Hollywood actor/actress power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith as hosts. In addition to recognizing 14 categories across sports, music and entertainment, BET will also bestow its highest honors on the incomparable Gladys Knight with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award; and Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington and wife Pauletta with the BET Humanitarian Award. With a growing list of high-powered Hollywood stars, and a lineup of earth-shattering performances, the BET AWARDS '05 telecast is certain to measure "Off The Meter!" in every area. "With four record-breaking BET AWARDS already under our belt, we are constantly looking for ways to surprise our audience," said Kelli Lawson, BET Executive Vice President for Corporate Marketing. "The 'top secret' and 'off the meter' themes in the advertising campaign help us build viewer anticipation while still keeping an element of surprise for a fifth BET AWARDS telecast. In addition, the dynamic personalities and blockbuster appeal of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are a perfect match for an amazing 'off the meter' show." Television Campaign The "Top Secret," and "Off The Meter" advertising campaign was conceived by BET's award-winning Creative Services team and premiered on the network the week of May 29. New spots will be rolled out each week leading up to the June 28 telecast in three phases. The ads are based on the premise that every year the BET AWARDS gets bigger and bigger, drawing the hottest stars for an unforgettable night of music and more -- and this year, the stars, the celebrities and the surprises will be "OFF THE METER!" Phase one of the ads leading up to the June 28 telecast incorporates the "Top Secret" theme and feature the comedic character Chauncey Jankins Jr., a hapless investigative reporter who goes undercover inside BET Headquarters to find out who will be hosting and appearing on BET AWARDS '05. In phase two, Jankins works his way into the BET offices where preparations are underway for the BET AWARDS and runs into problems when he interrupts rehearsals of sultry R&B singer and top BET AWARDS '05 nominee Ciara. The clueless Jankins is the perfect comedic foil to Ciara as he tries to change the choreography in her performance, but doesn't realize who she is. Print & Radio The "top secret" theme extends into BET AWARDS '05 print advertising with artwork resembling manila file folders featuring snapshot photos of "clues" such as a lock of hair and this year's hosts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith with the captions "countless yards of silky blond hair weave," and "couple observed during BET Awards rehearsals." The ads are running nationally in the late June and July issues of JET, Essence, Ebony, Vibe, Billboard, TV Guide, Inside TV, and The Source magazines. Outdoor and transit advertising is scheduled for 12 markets, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Detroit, Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, Orlando and St. Louis in mid to late June. Internet users will also find BET AWARDS '05 banner ads on various websites and email newsletters. Local radio spots will hit 37 markets throughout the country, as well as nationally-syndicated network radio shows hosted by Doug Banks, Russ Parr, Wendy Williams and BET's own, Big Tigger. Grassroots Marketing A number of grassroots marketing tactics are underway to encourage excitement among BET viewers, including promotions in Magic Johnson Theaters in 10 markets, 700 in-store Prima Games/FYE retailers, Barber & Beauty Show promotion and retail blitz, a BET Awards DJ send-off and nightclub promotion in 10 markets. The campaign also features a BET AWARDS '05 custom-published "tabloid," loaded with photos, puzzles, quizzes and editorial information about the BET AWARDS, distributed by street teams in 20 markets and sent to DJs across the country. In addition, BET is kicking off the BET AWARDS '05 celebration in Los Angeles by hosting a "BET - It's My Thing" community block party at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday, June 25. This invitation-only event for viewers will include a performance by popular R&B group, B5 and feature games, prizes, food and beverages as well as an opportunity to win a trip for two to the BET*25 Special in October. Media Relations BET is executing an extensive media relations effort in support of the BET AWARDS '05 marketing campaign which includes: a nominees announcement and press junket which was held on May 16 at the Hollywood Renaissance to kick off the countdown to the awards show featuring R&B diva and top BET AWARDS nominee Ciara, and R&B star Omarion; a series of "rolling thunder" press announcements related to the special honorees, contests, marketing, talent updates and interactive elements of the Awards program; a special 'Media Day' on June 27 to allow media covering the show with rehearsal day access to the BET AWARDS host, special honorees, nominees, performers and presenters; a considerable red carpet arrivals event featuring a live BET AWARDS pre-show telecast of popular 106 & PARK; and an onsite media operations center that will facilitate coverage opportunities on night of show for credentialed media covering the event. Downloadable images, artwork and the most up-to-date media information related to the show is available via the network's PR website at http://www.bet.com/pr.

  12. hmm, i'm not feeling this either, maybe if they had a great script but i'd like to see him step away from sequels, aliens, robots, the whole cgi thing...i'm really looking forward to pursuit of happiness, or something like enemy of the state where he's just a regular guy
  13. this is kinda about me having writer's block, though not as good as my last, i think it holds it's own Self-Preservation a yes or no question...am i satisfied with self? can i handle being poor, if i still strive for wealth? will i let my past failures determine future victory? will i ever do something spectacular, become a part of history? when will i know when i've reached my peak? when i can no longer write? when i can no longer speak? or maybe when my passion fades like tears into water and being an individual becomes too much of a bother metaphors and similies, divorce and part ways then a block forms and swirls around my mind for 80 days as a test of my patience, a challenge of my will my pen is my weapon and i still aim to kill to leave a massacre of phrases in the path of all the haters behind me cuz i'm so deep in my words that they can't even find me i'm at another altitude waaaaaaaay up high at the top i've been burned, and i've learned, now i stand on writer's block and maybe life for me really "ain't been no crystal stair" but i'm still a "phenomenal woman" so in desperate times i won't despair i'll just take any pain and trade it in for contentment and turn towards gratitude instead of bitter resentment now that i've seen the light it's like soul restoration and this is only step one towards my self-preservation Ashley let me know what ya think
  14. thnx guys, i wasn't so sure about posting it, but i'm glad i did
  15. i think the tickets are sold out, if i'm not mistaken they sold out pretty quick
  16. If I Were A Rapper If i were a rapper i'd spit the truth and let my heart spill with the style of mary j and the soul of lauryn hill i'd be the rose that grew from concrete, the pearl from a grain of sand a female mc so phenomenal, i'd hold hip-hop in my hand my flow would be flawless, laced with style and grace tons of higher knowledge, hidden behind a smile and pretty face and it's tough to keep faith, yeah this is true i know but Jesus walks with me too, Kanye told me so in a dream last night Pac told me to keep my head up but it seems like i'm constantly pissed off and fed up with the current state of hip hop and it's lack of respect for us ladies let's go back to the heart of it, let's go back to the 80s to the house parties with live DJs scratching at the wheels pass me a mic, let's get hype, no holster----keep it real hey DJ! spin that record "one more again" and watch the crowd freak out as the dumb dancin' begins by the end of the night, you'd still be stuck on my lyrics never woulda believed it if you weren't there to hear it an out of body experience, quite like no other before "did you hear Miss Lady rappin'?"..."yeah and i can't wait for more!" but you may have to cuz rappin's just not my thing my pen woke up this morning and decided to sing but if i were a rapper?...yeah i'd be something like this and i'd strive to be an mc that hip hop would miss Ashley/Miss Lady

  18. i like that, it really got me to thinking, thnx for posting :2thumbs:

  20. now i really can't wait! thnx Tim! :2thumbs:
  21. aahhhhh! finally! thnx Tim! :2thumbs:
  22. i've tried a time or two and it wasn't pretty lol but i'm gonna try again, i did a painting of some guy i can't remember his name but i believe he's a famous dancer here in the States and one of the Virgin Mary, they're ok......Cookie how long have you been painting, i'm just curious? I know it takes a lot of patience and that's something i lack lol, but the end product is great that's a really good likeness of her
