  1. I'm over the whole swearing thing. Guys - he's 55 years old. It was cute for the time but it wasn't really something for Will to make a big deal about. The title is weird to me. Almost fearful it's a pop title for an album. I just hope it's Will really rapping and going in hard. No more Latino vibes or weird experimental half-singing/half-rapping crap - just rap and spit bars! and....why ain't Jeff involved?? C'mon.
  2. Is anyone really surprised anymore? I'm not. For the last 20 years or so, Will has had one album, small little "freestyle" cameo's of the same 16 bars (Willywood) and has been on some weird songs outside of his normal style, oh and couple shows with Jeff overseas. It just doesn't really add up. His last album Lost & Found was him saying after 3 years prior that the rapper was lost to the actor and the actor won. Truthfully, the rapper was lost to the actor around the time of the new millennium and him shooting Ali. The whole "biggest movie star of the world" excuse is old and tired. He's the biggest movie star of the world who can call his shots and doesn't have to work another day in his life. You can do anything you want when you have money. He could easily drop songs on Spotify and surprise fans. He chooses not to. He doesn't care. It's not like he needs to even prove anything anymore but dude - stop acting like you're gonna do something musically and then don't. Don't give all this motivational crap about being willing to fail when it's clear as day he's afraid to do something musically again because of failure. Just stop acting. Period.
  3. I'm with you 100%. I'm so turned off by Will at the moment. I just don't care about celebrities. If Will went back to music and stepped away from his celebrity status for awhile, I'd have way more interest.
  4. I agree with a lot of opinions here. I don't think Will is doing good mentally. It was like a bi-polar moment for him. He's seen laughing at the joke to then slapping Chris and shouting at him. Next he gets the win and then cries and says something that he's a "vessel of love" and "love makes you do crazy things". Dude - you just slapped the host of the show because Jada wasn't having it. Listen, I get defending your wife but that was such an instant response to Jada. It was uncalled for. The joke wasn't even that bad. It's comedy. So now if we go to comedy shows and don't like a joke we can slap the comedian? It's bizarre. I get that it's an isolated incident but I think it was trigger by some deep wounds and toxicity in his life. He needs some help and healing. I haven't read the book but it seems like their are some deep rooted issues. We're obviously all people on the outside watching but part of me thinks their marriage has run it's course. He was humiliated on the RTT with Jada where she justified her actions in front of the world to make a private matter turn into public display of marriage therapy in which she profited off of it. She had an affair with their son's friend. That's crazy. So because the traditional definition of marriage doesn't apply to their "open marriage" makes what she did okay? And now they're going to have another episode that they're going to profit from from all the views. I could do without the pomp and circumstance. Honestly, I'm just turned off by Will and have been for a few years now. Maybe at his core he's still the guy we all grew up loving from JJFP, FPOBA to the early 2000s but he doesn't have the same appeal to me. He's a business and a brand and the one thing I want from him - he doesn't sell anymore - which is music. I'm not into Will Smith the character, the box office star and hollywood elite. He's just not relatable. I feel the same way about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson too. I dont care and never cared about: his movies his marriage and how open it is his kids his snapchat his instagram his book (well maybe some parts of it) bel-air reboot hollywood life his politics his youtube channel his motivation advice his workout routine selling me products (bel-air merch, JUST water...etc) ...etc Anything with music - count me in.
  5. I've kinda given up hope on music at this point. I'm sick of the half-ass attempts over the last few years with these weirdo songs. He does a song with DJ Khaled a few years ago and it's for the kids? I mean c'mon. Get Lit was another weird song. The best thing he did was that freestyle video on Youtube but of course that was like 1-2 minutes long and never released as a song. Oh and that Joyner remix that he jumped on. Will has such a team around him when it comes to video production and getting quick ad money off of Youtube clicks that I wish the same energy was there for music. I agree with AJ - nobody wants to hear new Will Smith with modern music production. If he's gonna return to music - he's gotta actually write and rap bars. Don't do it for record sales or awards - rap because it's who you really are (as opposed to being an actor and pretending to be a character) and you have plenty to say.
  6. The clickbait headline doesn't necessarily match up but I also don't think Napolean is looking for attention. I didn't get that vibe at all. Pac was upset and said, ‘I don’t know why she think I would have tried to make some problems with Will Smith.’ I guess it kind of hurt him… He had a lot of love for Jada Pinkett, a lot of respect for her.” Pac clearly didn't have a problem with Will. He was upset at the fact that Jada would even have to say that to him - because he wouldn't have done anything anyway. Gotta love clickbait...
  7. Exactly. Will does all of this side crap that I just don't care about. I'm a big fan of his music but that's done with.
  8. This album is still fire. I love how Will is more open than ever about discussing music past or present. Aside from Summertime, I think This Boy is Smooth is my favorite with Trapped on the Dance Floor right behind it. I think it's really cool how we get to hear Jeff rap on it. Everything from the production to the album art is awesome.
  9. This was really really good. No rules, no publicists, nothing to promote....just telling raw stories from back in the day. The craziest takeaway for me was Homebase almost shipped without Summertime! Summertime was the last cut done. I wonder if they had to subtract a song. I can't imagine Homebase without Summertime. I wonder what would've been the lead single. Probably Ring My Bell.
  10. Where did you read that? I hope so! I want more music. I've been wanting more since 2005! It's amazing how times have changed so much.
  11. LOL. The internet is full of sheep, No original thoughts - just trying to get clicks off of the name and views for ads. Tim's reaction was great. This track and the 2018 Freestyle of him in the studio are his best bars in 15 years or so. I know he loves the experiment with these half rap, half-singing, half rap in spanish hybrid tracks but I know and every knows that they want to hear real rap tracks from him. He just needs to do it somewhat consistently. Now that he's on Instagram and YouTube, he can easily promote and do his own music. He can even promote his old records - which I love the album covers of Homebase, Code Red and Ring My Bell in the video.
  12. This is fire! This is exactly what I want to hear from Will. Not just 6 lines and singing the rest - straight BARS. He adapts to the times with a modern flow and shines brightly. As excited as I am for this - this might just be another one and done - like the freestyle video a couple years ago. He doesn't do anything music-wise to consistently generate a buzz for music.
  13. I also saw that BNF performance and wanted to download it but it was gone real quick. I don't understand why Will or his people are so secretive about these things. Isn't some of his people JL and Omar too? I just dont get it. I couldn't give two craps about Will's movies but when it comes to music please give me as much as possible! Lol
  14. First of all - this was dope! It's great to hear a straight-up rap track from Will. From Da South is fantastic and I'd never would've thought he'd ever do that live or in-studio. They must've shot so much footage that I hope it gets released. Clearly they did Brand New Funk so I hope they release that too. It looks like it could be part of some documentary or something. Fingers crossed!
  15. I was actually there. There was so many people - it was insane!
  16. Friend Like Me Prince Ali Don't Be Afraid to Be Different and what is the 4th one?
  17. I'm loving this feature. It's great to hear Will have some flow and talk some ish. I'm hoping for more. I don't wanna hear the same crap about cursing, how he's working with crappy younger artists...just stop already. Either enjoy it or don't. It's 2019, not 1989. Gotta get with the times. If you like something great, enjoy it but don't constantly remind us in every post about how KRS-One, Hammer, Kool G Rap, Biggie are just way far superior. They all made some wack records too.
  18. Looks like he's doing two songs for the soundtrack - Friend Like Me and Prince Ali. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6139732/soundtrack
  19. I really enjoyed it but my only gripe with Nore is that he just doesn't shut up sometimes and let his guests answer lol. I love his energy and he asks great questions but he just needs to chill a little bit!
  20. Is he ever going to open a show/have a show/drop a song in the US? C'mon Will..
  21. Oh my god....this is unbelievable!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. 30 years later the video finally surfaces on Halloween! The video is super cool. Obviously it could be in better condition but it's done really really well.
  22. The track is cool but I just want some hip-hop. I just want some verses!
  23. I really hope he finally talks about record labels and inside the music, making of the album, stories from going on tour, stories from the studio...etc.
