This came in the mail yesterday. I've played through it twice now. All 25 tracks of it. This is how you do a mixtape. Any fan of Willenium should recognize the name Kel Spencer from his verse on "Uuhhh." He was spitting raw lyrics then and he's still doing it today. This is out to get some buzz in before his album drops in the summer. I will be playing this in parking lots all around. For those that don't know, Kel Spencer is a talented MC that hasn't gotten much exposure (and that's partly his own fault). You can hear some of his songs here. This is straight Hip Hop that brings the quality with it. I know I'm probably the only one (with maybe one or two exceptions, you know who you are) here that's got the mixtape, but I recommend you get it. If you love Hip Hop you'll love this. God Blessa!

I'm hesitant on this because I feel like he's been pulled back and forth a LOT over the last 10 years. He goes from one extreme to the other. He'll made an album of love songs, club songs, and then an album trying too hard to appeal to kids. If makes GOAT 2 in the same spirit of GOAT and represents himself as himself, it'll be quality.

Check Out A Song I Recorded W/ Nas Instrumental

I can definitely see you improving ted! -
I remember making a thread reviewing the album. I can't believe it's been 9 years. I don't have any hopes for a new album at this point but I'd love for Will to surprise me. It would be so cool for him to drop his film career for 5 years and focus and exclusively on music during that time.

I love the design, Tim. Great job. Listening to your Everything I Got video right now too.

I found the mixtape cover on fb but no link to the actual mixtape itself. I shall find it though.

Russell Crowe and Will Smith Save Akiva Goldsman’s Directing Debut, Winter’s Tale
Silver Tiger replied to Ale's topic in Will Smith Movies
I just came to post something similar. This film will not do well at all. -
Man, I've been wanting to get a video out bad. I actually filmed two attempts and wasn't happy with either one. And I'm not sure I'll be able to meet your deadline today. I just found out I was getting laid off next month so I've been looking for work. Great job to everyone that made a video though. I'm really upset that I wasn't able to be a part of it.

Yeah, I think the music should be added in after the fact, that way it won't be some big mishmash of cut up songs and poor audio. It works well in Tim's though.

Yeah, I don't really understand that part of the equation. For a time, it seemed like he was really moving in the direction of an album. I hope he promotes the hell out of this new mixtape. That's the only way it's gonna get close to the numbers he's looking for.

Rest in peace, James. It's really sad to see you go. Thanks for the memories though. You've given us a lot of laughs.

California is still sucking the final drops of 2013 juice.

I just saw this on Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to see him. I didn't see this thread so I didn't expect to see him at all. It was nice to see him in a comedy.

David Guggenheim to write Bad Boys 3 script
Silver Tiger replied to fan 4ever's topic in Will Smith Movies
Bad Boys is the one franchise that I'd be excited to have Bay back on. If they're going to make this movie, they need to make it soon. -
He just always seemed like a very wise man. RIP Mandela.

Not that I ever left you lovely people ;). Just wanted to drop this on your head today.

Magic trick with Will, Jada and Kanye West

But how sanitary was the blade?! -
Dope. I didn't expect this sort of thing to be on her show at all, granted I haven't actually seen it yet. I dig this smooth version of the song though.

So how optimistic are you about a new album at this point?
Silver Tiger posted a topic in Will Smith Music
For a minute there, it really seemed like we would be seeing something substantial soon (doesn't help that Jeff often helps to fuels that fire). Now? Not so much. So the premise is this: Will is 45. He's not beyond the age of vets still rapping, but he's getting up there. He's also still hunting for that Oscar. Oh, and he doesn't like to lose. It seems like the polarized view of Seven Pounds kind of hurt his ego, considering how invested he was in that one. And it's definitely felt like that last few years have been more about his kids (specifically Jaden now) than anything else. He had some fun again with MIB3 but AE was not a success by Will's previous standards, at all.' So with all of that in mind, what do you think the odds are that we'll see another album within the next 5 years? 8 years ago when Lost & Found came out, I would've said that we'd have seen it by 2007. But it didn't do BWS or W2K numbers, so he chased acting again. It's always nice to see Will in the studio, but lately, it always seems to be with subpar artists. His perfectionist attitude hurts him sometimes, I think. Sometimes, the people just need to hear something raw. L&F proved that Will still had it- more than most, really. But he continues to push other projects ahead of hip hop. So I don't think we will see anything substantial until Will takes a radical change in direction. Sometimes I get the vibe that he's too smart for his own good. He goes after what he thinks is most likely to serve him best. But I think he should do what he enjoys the most. L&F was a glimpse of that Will. I want him back. I await your thoughts. -
Nice job, Tim!

It was better than I expected but it also felt like it could have been so much more than it was.

Silver Tiger replied to Silver Tiger's topic in Will Smith Music
I don't think it did live up to his expectations, commercially. If it did, we probably would have gotten that Tell Me Why video. We might have had another album by now too. -
I dont even need to click the link to know it's probably Willywood. I miss seeing the energy and excitement of 2005 Will.

Good point, Brakes. Will tends to stick to the songs he's performed a million times over. And any tour that happens will probably be extremely small compared to a tour following the release of a full album.
