Will recording with Game produced by the Neptunes
JumpinJack AJ replied to a topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Jaden's rap isn't going to make any waves in the Hip-Hop world...but he is good. You can see a bit of the Fresh Prince in him. He could actually be a good emcee in a few years. I wonder if who wrote his verse. None of the lines made me say "Yeah, FP wrote that" for sure, but some of them had that FP kind of feel 2 them. Didn't FP say Jaden didn't have any rhythm in an interview a few years ago. His flow was right with the beat and he can dance a bit...lol. -
RAW FUSION + 2PAC - #1 With A Bullet Live From the Styleetron (1991) I can't believe I've never heard this before. Back in 1991 I was already a Digital Underground and 2Pac fan but I just now bought this album.

Dr. Dre Squeezes Ice Cube Into "Detox"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
World Class Wreckin' Cru wasn't exactly gangsta...my issue is that once he left Deathrow, he pretty much purged that vibe from his life style. I have an interview from 1996 taped somewhere with him saying Aftermath was about making real Hip-Hop music and that Gangsta Rap was dead. He said he wanted to make real music and even release records with no profanity. But when Chronic 2001 came around, more than half of the album was riddled with the same kind of weak, stupid subject matter. Some of the production was great, some was average. Some of the guests were great, some weren't. My argument on Gangsta Rap will always be the same...if u are really sexin' so many ho's, u'll get some disease and die. If u are really toting a gun ready 2 kill someone, u will and u'll be in jail...if someone doesn't kill u first. If u are addicted 2 drugs u'll be in jail or too wasted as an individual to create music. Gangsta Rap is fake. It's ridiculous and wack. No grown man should be seriously promoting that image unless they wanna be considered a joke. In the words of KRS-One (on Arsenio Hall's sofa, sitting right next to Eazy-E)..."Real gangstas don't rap." Let me hear Dre talk about real things. He was seeing things most clearly in 1996. The Aftermath album was a nice 1st step...but then he abandoned the vision. And how many albums has he released in the past 15 years?!?!? -

Why are we turning a topic about a good album into another Lil' Wayne post? -
Dr. Dre Squeezes Ice Cube Into "Detox"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I like that Ice Cube is on it and I like that he says it's a departure from his previous stuff. I'm sure wannabe gangsta stuff, ho's and weed will come up somewhere on the album but I'm really hoping there's a lot more real subject matter on it. There's nothing gangsta about Dr. Dre other than his roots. It's time to do what Aftermath was ORIGINALLY all about...which was being real, honest, and making real Hip-Hop music. I don't like that Scott Storch is producing on the record tho.' Why would ANYONE else be producing. I think Storch is pretty overrated as a producer. Yes, he's created some good beats but he's certainly not one of the greatest to ever do it. -

This is good to hear. I like how they used the word "squeeze" as if it was done and waiting to be released in 2 weeks...lol. -
Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives

I have this album and I love it! -
Very funny. I like your sense of humor. This reminds me of some of some of the projects I had to do when in school and trying to work some comedy in to them. I don't know how much "meat" this project needed but I hope it was enough to balance out the comedy you put on it. Well done. Next time, maybe rehearse a bit more. There were dozens of "ahh"s in there where you were collecting your next thought.

J-LIVE - Timeless The Best Part (2009...sometime between 1995-2001...whenever it was recorded even tho' the official release of his "debut" album was last year...lol) This album is DOPE! The instrumental disc idea was perfect.

Oh, apparently this is off of I Am...Sasha Fierce. That's show's how much I listened to that album. I thought it was a new song. They video didn't look the same as all the others off of that album...plus it's almost been 2 years she she dropped that album.

BEYONCE - Why Don't You Love Me (2010) Hmmm...I kinda like this. It's a lot better than the sound of her last album, but why won't she make straight R-N-B again?!?

'Diff'rent Strokes' star Gary Coleman dies
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, this hurt my heart. I grew up watching DIff'rent Strokes. That show really was brilliant in all it's simplicity. When BET started showing reruns a couple of years ago I fell in love with it all over again. Unfortunately he caught a raw deal because it was hard for him to get other roles that had weight to them due to his condition. I always wondered if his personal problems were strictly from his character or the frustration he had to deal with after the show ended. Either way, he was very talented and very funny. And most of time, he showed a lot of heart. R.I.P. -
I don't wanna be a party pooper but this beat is average. With a talented emcee, it would take it to that next level. Kanye is not lyrical and his voice and flow are just annoying. It's better than what dominates radio airplay, but that hasn't been a compliment for many years. He peaked with "All Falls Down" in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of Drake so I'm finding this a bit hard 2 swallow. I also an not familiar with the original version 2 compare. The vocals match up and that's what matters most...lol.

JJFP on 'Arsenio' performing 'Ring My Bell' & 'Summertime'
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
There was never anything serious between the two of them. When FP went on the show one time, he was acting all crazy, making it very hard for Arsenio to interview him. It was all in good taste. They put up this front that they were acted like they were always dissing each other but it was really this thing they started from that one interview. I know at some point this interview was on YouTube. I'm not sure if it still is. I know there was an interview he did another late night host or a radio personality and they joked "I'm not gonna mess with you...I saw what you did to Arsenio." -

Yeah, I wouldn't mind hearing him on a SoulPower beat either. -
That Riff song was my JAM in 6th grade. I still have the cassette single...lol. I think Riff only had 1 album. After hearing this I really wanted them 2 drop a follow up cuz "White Men Can Jump." Was flawless. Straight New Jack Swing. Comparable to groups like New Edition, Guy, Hi-Five, etc... ONYX - Throw Ya Gunz Bacdaf**up (1992) I'm having a bad day. Onyx always helps me channel and dissolve that anger without having to beat the crap out of something. This is what real street Hip-Hop sounds like. Darn near makes me wanna do a drive-by...lol.

50 cent drops 50 pounds for new movie
JumpinJack AJ replied to VIsqo's topic in Caught in the Middle
Wow! What can I say? I don't respect 50 Cent that much. I haven't heard lyrics or talent from him that make me respect him as a rapper. I've heard him say a lot of stupid things in interviews that make it hard for me 2 respect him as a person. But I gotta give him props for that kind of commitment. I didn't know he was THAT serious about acting. He looks awful in those pictures. It says he's playing a character with cancer. Are those pix of him "in character" or does he naturally look that bad at that weight. All I can say is "WOW!" -
Ted, I've got that Marley album but I rarely listen 2 that track. I've been thinking of burning a new LL mixtape with that rarities like that. Ale, that probably my favorite Nas song. JASON MRAZ - Mudhouse Gypsy MC We Steal Things EP (2008) This is one of my favorite songs by him.

Was it Project Pat or Petey Pablo? They should really put out some kind of "Lost Tapes" album...Just a collection of unreleased material from over the years... Yes, Petey Pablo...all I remembered was that it was a garbage rapper with 2 P's in their name. lol
