  1. I could care less about half of the albums on that. I haven't heard Redman's album all the way thru' but I've previewed every song on it and liked it. Ice Cube's is average. I like Rhymefest but he's music doesn't initially grab me. Whenever I get around 2 listening 2 it I end up liking it but it's never a staple in my music collection that I continuously go back to. I love the Black Eyed Peas...I just don't like their current music that much. I haven't listened 2 the new album since it came out. It's just a part 2 of their last album yet it's even weaker than that. I was never a Nelly fan when he was really popular but I did get his album because I love "Just A Dream." Some of the songs are really good. Whenever he doesn't try 2 hard, he does well. Some of the production is weak but it's a good commercial rap record. I'm not interested in the albums but T.I., N.E.R.D., or Canibus. I was curious about Twista's album but I'm not inspecting anything too impressive. I think Eminem and The Roots are the only Hip-Hop records that really even stand out in my mind from this year. I don't like Kanye's music at all. I think Lil' Wayne and Drake are jokes. I don't few any of the last 3 rappers as rappers. They are more like pop stars. Music genres have blended and radio play has mixed so much that it's kind a like u are a pop star or u are a recording artist who is semi-successful or independent.
  2. Seeing this article again is getting me pretty excited. Thing back to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Thing back on how that effected ALL MUSIC. Lauryn Hill only brings out well thought out lyrics and subject matter. And she's only ever excepted solid, legit production for her sound. This album very well could an album that saves music...especially Hip-Hop and R-N-B. Let's face it, the mainstream side of the music is dead. There's barely any talent out there and a lot of the talent that still exists is dumbing it down for the idiots who like Top 40 radio. I expect this album to start a revolution. It could be the 1st classic album to be released in YEARS.
  3. I think the whole thing is silly. Certain artists (pretty much every popular artist) is getting their garbage albums placed in the "Best of..." lists while more legit artists are are ending up on these albums. I guess u could say Ice Cube's and Redman's albums are disappointing when u compare it to their work in the 90's. But their albums certainly aren't bad and they are a thousand times better than the releases coming from Lil' Wayne, Kanye West, etc. It's like the game is designed to promote and praise the weak, wack, and awful and tear down the creative, hardworking, vets. I don't really care for these lists anymore. What's the point when so many legendary acts aren't releasing new material or getting proper exposure?!
  4. I love Beyonce. I really do. But her most recent album was so bad. I'm happy that she's successful but I don't want this to encourage her to do another album with production that is as bad as I Am...Sasha Fierce has. I'm kinda surprised at this because neither her music or movie career were booming this year. Good for her. Hopefully she can come back with an R-N-B/Soul album in 2011.
  5. LUTHER VANDROSS - Every Year Every Christmas This Is Christmas (1994) bigted 2014 edit: This song is amazing. I loved it the 1st time I heard it.
  6. XSCAPE - Christmas Without You Jermaine Dupri's Twelve Soulful Nights of Christmas (1996)
  7. I've never seen this. Thanx Ted! Do u know when this this performance happened? I like it when Kelly Clarkson realizes that she's a white girl who should be singing soul music...not so much pop/rock type stuff. I'm not a big Fantasia fan but she does well with this.
  8. Merry Christmas to everyone!! Looking forward to hearing how everyone's day went.
  9. Someone took the original video and put it to the ultra rare remix that u could only get on the promo single... TLC - Sleigh Ride (Colin Master Remix) Sleigh Ride (Promo Single) (1993) bigted 2014 edit: TLC - All I Want For Christmas A LaFace Family Christmas (1993)
  10. He he....I love that version of this song. I can't tell if it's Cascada or the song that u don't like...but Turntable, this if for you... WHAM! - Last Christmas (Original - 1984) BRITT NICOLE - Last Christmas (2008) bigted 2014 edit: lol
  11. CASCADA - Last Christmas (2008) bigted 2014 edit: I think this song does well as a club version. This song (in general...not just this version) has grown on me so much over the past few years.
  12. I have never seen this either!!! Awesome! Thanx for posting this.
  13. VANESSA WILLIAMS - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Both of her Christmas albums are excellent.
  14. KERI HILSON - Pretty Girl Rock No Boys Allowed (2010) I LOVE THIS SONG!...THIS VIDEO...THIS ALBUM!!
  15. Tim is right. He just wanted to focus on movies and leave while the show was on top. It was still a favorite of viewers. The stories were still funny and fresh. The entire cast was still on board. As much as I hated 2 see it end, I'm glad they handled it that way. So many lose viewers, get bad stories, lose cast members and get canceled. Not alot of shows have a track record that is as strong as FPofBA.
  16. He's been out of the public eye. A couple months ago I saw pix of him and he was big. I'm not a fan of his so I don't follow him, but I don't recall seeing him overweight until more recently.
  17. Jeremih showed alot of potential during his 1st album. He 2nd one is average at best. The production is awful. And I refuse to give 50 Cent real props based off of 2 recent songs that feature him that are actually good. He has a body of work that is awful and an attitude that is embarrassing. He's on the right track but he's got a ways 2 go. And yeah, R. Kelly's new album is the best R-N-B album of 2010...HANDS DOWN!! One of the best of the past 5 years. TANK - Sex Music Strong (2010)
  18. I don't know how I feel about this kind of surgery. Some people truly need it. Some are just lazy. I had to laugh when I saw someone's comment attached to this article saying "healthy lifestyle with booze in your music video?" lol Paul Wall Sheds 100 Pounds After Weight Loss Surgery Paul Wall wants the world to know that he's embracing a healthier lifestyle, after shedding 100 excess pounds from his frame. Recent weight-loss surgery has finally given the Houston rapper control over his long-term battle with obesity. In an interview with Ozone Magazine, Wall admitted that an offer from 'VH1's Celebrity Fit Club' triggered the decision to undergo gastric sleeve surgery. "Honestly, when we were in Afghanistan and [representatives from 'VH1's] 'Celebrity Fit Club' were contacting [me] about coming on the show," he explained. "That was a hell of a wake-up call. [being fat] isn't a secret. You can look in the mirror and try to hide it and cover it up, and it may work here or there, but there ain't no shirt or hat you can put on or haircut you can get to hide the fact that you're morbidly obese. That's what the doctor said: I was 'morbidly obese.' I decided not to do [the show] but it was still a wake-up call to have people calling you saying, 'Hey, you're really, really fat.'" Wall further detailed his decision to undergo gastric sleeve surgery, explaining that it is more effective than the popular lap band procedure, for overweight patients. "My weight has been up and down my whole life, so I wanted to do something to permanently fix the problem," he said. "Since going back and forth on the drugs for years and taking diet pills, my metabolism was really gone." Prior to his surgery, the 6-ft tall rapper weighed in at 320lbs.
  19. I gotta say that I think Jeremih's new album is weak. There's almost no soul to this new album. It's just light-weight, watered-down radio r-n-b pop. 50 Cent on the other hand isn't bad on this. I think he just realized that he was one of the wackest rappers for a long time. Now that's he's not as popular he's actually worried about the music he's putting out. KANDI - Leave U KandiKoated (2010) The new album is GOOD!!
  20. Just had 2 say FPofBA was never canceled. They decided to end the show while they were on top. Also had 2 say that I've never found Family Guy funny....only stupid, much like this clip.
  21. G. Dep Indicted for Second-Degree Murder Former Bad Boy artist, G. Dep was indicted on second degree murder charges Tuesday, after confessing to a crime that took place more than a decade ago. After living with the secret for years, Dep now sits in prison, after turning himself in to New York City police last week. "He was making amends," said Dep's lawyer Michael Alperstein, who noted that his confession was influenced by a 12-step narcotics treatment program. Dep, born Trevell Coleman, admitted that in 1993 he shot John Henkel, in front of an East Harlem housing project. After an unsuccessful robbery attempt Coleman unloaded three bullets in the victim's chest before fleeing the scene. He disposed of the murder weapon, a .40-caliber handgun, in the East River. Henkel was transported to nearby St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Now 36, Coleman maintains that he had no idea that Henkel died from his gunshot wounds, when he confessed. "I'm just trying to get right with God," he told the New York Post after his arrest. Unfortunately for the father of three, his reputation precedes him. The 'Special Delivery' rapper has been arrested over 25 times since 2003, for several offenses including burglary, and drug charges. Coleman's former boss, Sean "Diddy" Combs, recently commented on the incident. "G. Dep is probably one of the nicest artists that I ever worked with," he said during an interview on Shade 45. During their time together, Combs revealed that there was clearly something bothering Coleman. "You could always feel if you really knew G. Dep, and I can't say it that [the murder], but you could always feel that something was really troubling his soul. He was real quiet." "He's the type of guy who wouldn't hurt a fly," Combs continued. "I don't know what happened in that instance. He did the right thing and manned up to it, but my prayers go out to him. I try to keep everybody's things private but he had a real bad drug problem and that could have caused [the] situation. Drugs sometimes make people flip up and make mistakes. At the same time my prayers go out to him and everybody else that's been affected, the family of the victims -- the whole nine." If convicted, Coleman faces 25-years to life.
  22. I'd be happy with a song or 2 with them together. Otherwise, I like this post...except for the soundtrack idea. Mixing movies with music isn't my cup of tea.
  23. I hadn't seen that. That's interesting. I'll try to find that article that I posted a few months ago. I distinctly remember reading that the songs he in Virginia in 2007 were in some kind of loop hole contract wise that made it so a separate team of people could release it without having Epic involved. That same article stressed that this (at the time upcoming) Epic release was NOT the same sessions. I believe some of these songs are recent...but not all of them.
  24. Julie, most of these songs are not the songs from 2007. You can tell in most of them. Last I read, there were 12 tracks that he did in 2007 in a studio in Virginia. The article I read (and posted here) made it sound like there was a loop hole for those recordings that make them not owned by Epic. Those songs will feel like an album when we hear them and these songs don't fit together as an album. That album is the one that I'm excited to here.
  25. Man, what is wrong with him. How bad do his circumstances need 2 be before he gets his life together?!?
