  1. Whenever there's something even slightly negative about Will posted, everyone seems to take this slightly defensive "Say-it-ain't-so-Joe" attitide lol... soooooo Will owned a gun - it's the American way! Didn't you see Bowling for Columbine? Gosh. But seriously not a huge deal :cya:

  2. i'm white, in a stereotypical way

can't jump or rhyme or flow, but hey

    i don't care, it's my birthday and i'm here

to jump into this battle with a verse beyond compare

in horribleness, but that's fine with me

it's not like i ever intended to be an MC

i'm just bored, and avoiding homework

so i'm here boldly going beyond like captain kirk

    spittin rhymes, and wasting time

    this must be a crime

to take u rappers in your prime

fill your contest up with this slime

    i'm, so incredibly untalented

but I still rep Boston better than marky mark ever did

    and finally, in conclusion

j-o-e and bagatrash: you're not amusing

think you got skills? you're fulla delusion

do us all a favor and go into seclusion

no more wack raps, please, no more abusing

why'd i feel the need to diss? how confusing

  3. Why thank you very much, fellow JJFP fans... haha whenever I saw these "happy birthday" posts before, I was like: allright, they get the msg, I'm sure, everyone posts the happy birthday smiley, greeeeeeeeat... But evidently I'm more of a cheezy person than I thought, b/c when I saw this I was like: sweetness, check this out!! :dancingcool: (birthday dance)

  4. Glad that Will is makin some noise, but this post angered me just as a reminder that that "Rich Girl" Gwen Stefani song is so popular... I'm not the type of person who obsesses too much over musically-cheap pop songs dominating the airwaves, but that has to be one of the worst tracks, one of the worst songs, I have EVER heard, hands down. Gosh! lol It's sooooooo bad... Anyone with me on this? :cya:

  5. naa dont know havent heard that album..let me know what tracks you downloaded and like..theres actually a heap of hierogylphics material..cause you got del, souls of mischief, casual and pep love, albums as them as 1 group..hieroglyphics..solo albums side projects etc etc

Yeah there's an enormous amount of Hieroglyphics stuff on iTunes alone & I don't think they even have it all - BUT I restrained myself last night knowin I have a few things comin up I wanna buy so I just got "Neighborhood" by Del (naaaasty flow, altho im not a big fan of the hook) and Hiero's "The Who, A-plus mix" (niiiiiiiice track overall)... thanks again - and I'll be gettin more down the road, w/out question (any must-have suggestions?)

  6. Hero: this is random and you might not know it, but then again you probably do, but is Del the Funkee Homosapian the guy singing the hook on the "Melody" track from Nu Mark's (guy from Jurassic 5) CD "Hands On"... b/c I swear I remember that as being his voice too (this is by far the most random & obscure album I own)... If so, I'm beginning to think that all the random music I listen to really traces back somehow to Heiroglyphics & I just never realized it before

  7. Ahhhh, this stuff is so good-- I'm about to throw away an obscene amount of money in 99 cent increments on iTunes with all the stuff I'm finding lol but thanx, Hero  ... quality music.... (and apologies for using that Taurus joke again - I clearly killed it  )

  8. The clip of Vanilla trying to explain the CLEAR differences between the beat in "Under Pressure" and the beat in "Ice, Ice Baby" remains one of the funniest things ever captured by man on moving film. (Man! His song goes: ding ding ding ding ding, ding, ding ding ding ding ding ding, ding... and mine's all: ding ding ding ding ding ding, ding, ding ding ding ding ding ding ding, ding... *akward silence*)

  9. Clint Eastwood by the Gorillaz (strange but I love it)

you are listening to sum hieroglyphics man..the great grandaddy of hieroglyphics del the funky homosapian is on that track..u wanna hear more similar stuff check out "deltron 3030" classic scifi/hip hop album by del and automator.. and 1nce again casual from handsome boy modeling school album(hiero) opio(hiero) u listenin 2 more hiero than you know!

That's crazy... I always knew that that must be some rapper doin a cameo b/c other "Gorillaz" trax weren't rap (and really aren't very good from what I've heard), but I was far too lazy to actually figure it out. I need to be educated!... but seriously, I think its high time I check out some of these artists u keep mentioning once & for all... I blast that song in my Pimptastic Ford Taurus every morning that I can borrow it from my mom to go to school (coolness off the charts), it's such a great track, and it overall def captures the vibe of senior yr of high school lol (i'm useless, but not for long / the future, is comin on...)...

  10. Hmmmm... somehow I remember that "freestyle" as bein pretty lyrically complex, actually... maybe I should give it another listen tho lol (btw, the debate over whether this is a "freestyle" or not really needs to end... its a rhyme)

  11. okay guys ghostwriters are NEVER credited.  If you are credited you are not a ghostwriter.  People were saying Jay Z wrote "Still D.R.E" for Dr Dre and he wasn't credited or something.  If that's true, that would be callled ghostwriting.  You guys are getting the definition mixed up.  Co-writers whose names are on the book are NOT ghostwriters.  Got that?  Good.

Now tons of rappers get help with writing.  Even the greats, Pac Biggie all got a little help here and there.  Whether it's hooks or whatever.  Will could've just gotten an idea for the Switch hook.  Even if it's just an idea, the person who gave the idea needs to be credited or they might come back and sue u for taking their idea or something.

Yeah, the distinction between credited co-writing and all-out ghostwriting, as Skillz alleges, needs to be made. Entirely different things - one I don't have a big problem with, the other is pretty much unacceptable. Oh well! Hopefully Will only did the credited stuff... in any case, whatever people(s)/entity write/wrote Will's rhymes: I'm a fan! :cya:

  12. "Ghostwriting" is where u have people write songs for you and make it look like your own and talking all the credit. With the solo albums, FP did have some co-writers on a few trax...but not ghostwriters. Check the credits, u'll see the trax that Nas co-wrote on Big Willie Style, the trax Common Sense co-wrote Willennium, and the trax Kel Spencer co-wrote for Willennium and Born To Reign. I personally don't like the idea of people co-writing some of his songs, but with the JJ+FP albums and the other trax on his solo albums, it's easy 2 see FP has the skillz. He works with peers and people he's close 2. It's not like he's saying "hey dog, co-write this song with me, i need help." When u have friends who do the same thing u do, it's fun 2 create stuff 2gether. When i used 2 write alot, there were times when me and my cousin would write songs 2gether. It waz fun, not cuz i or he couldn't do it on our own. Now i do alot of acting. When i thinkin' about how i'm going 2 do a scene, if i'm doing it with close friends, we work 2gether and let our chemistry take it 2 that next level. That's what makes me not look at FP co-writing with other people as a taboo. He has talked about it in interviews and credits the people who work with him, he's not trying 2 cover it up or anything.

Besides, look at the people he desided 2 work with....THEY HAVE SKILLZ. Now if he waz working with The Game or Lil' Jon, then i'd be worried. It's becuz of people like Fresh Prince, that talented up-comers like Kel Spencer are getting paid. Kel's solo career hasn't sparked yet and his album never came out...but since he did some work on "Switch," he'll be getting some money outta it's success. It also got his 3rd Power Music Group some attention.

I think that the whole Lost + Found era has FP coming full circle tho.' Kel Spencer is probably the only real lyrical sidekick.

If that's all it is, I agree w/ you, I don't like it a whole lot, but I understand what he's doing & it's not a huge deal... but Skillz's lyrics seem to imply a whole lot more... I dunno, but def interesting...

  13. Yeah, I had heard tons of times that Puff Diddy doesn't write his own stuff, but I honestly had no idea that Will used ghost writers, although you guys seem to understand this as common knowledge. Don't you have to lose a little credibility there? We're not talking about a collaboration or proofreading or sumthin, Joe, we're talkin about Skillz writing whole songs - or that's what his "ghostwriter" song seems to imply. I dunno, just seems pretty cheap artistically... do we know what songs he got "help" with?

  14. Hahaha, I'm definately amused by the fact that that guy checked this forum for a response. But hey Robert Ballantyne! If you're reading this, your haters that you quoted, if you took the time to check their profiles, are from the UK and Netherlands. And as a JJFP/Will Smith fan from the US who actually doesn't like "Switch" and agreed with your criticism, I just wanted to point out that your ridiculous shot at American tastes and opinions was equally stupid and uninformed. I have no problem with our neighbors to the north, in general, or their rejection of the missile defense program, for that matter... I might have a problem with you.
