  1. I guess I can see the embarassing embarrasment thing (I love the wording, Hero lol) and wanting to hold up the quality of the official msg board but honestly... official msg boards are usually a joke, and very few ppl (if any) are gonna judge Will or his music based on 12 year olds spamming the board incessantly with millions of stupid msgs... Just stay here and chill - L&F hits soon! :cya:

  2. mimi: in regards 2 ur first post, i think ur gonna be against every1 else here with the kinda attitude ur bringin' in. if u wanna make "will is fine" posts then please, by all means, go ahead and do it over there. we're here 2 act mature and talk about will's career, not shallow immature things. now i know ur not one of those people who likes will just 4 his looks (like a lot of people of there) but c'mon. please note this is only regarding ur 1st post, i think ur 2nd post had good points and u backed them up.

listen, it's not AJ's right to diss the girls over there just b/c they think Will is cute. U guys are saying the board over there is corrupt and want to save it. Now youre telling me to go over there and talk about shallow things instead of here? Then what's the point of this topic? AJ wants to "save" the board from those shallow stuff, but u want me to go over there if I wanna discuss Will's looks. I haven't posted a single thing on the Interscope site, but it isn't AJ's messageboard. It isn't yours or mine either. So telling girls who post "Will is hot" over there are dumb, shallow, isn't right either. Because girls are gonna be girls. At least they think he's good-looking... They have a right to talk about whatever they want too, shallow or not. But AJ is tellin these people to stop making these posts, etc, and i agree it could get annoying. But it is a wide, public forum, and there's not a thing u can do to "save" it cuz new ppl are gonna come thru everyday. Now, this is board is for you guys, so u can regulate if u want (i guess), but we aren't the dictators of a Will Smith empire (like I said). So there is no business for us in trying to save a damn public forum!

Yeah I'm kinda with you on this... It's an official Will Smith public website, and ppl can talk about what they want to... Just stay here if you don't wanna hear it, and want a smaller group talking about more regulated things... Why do you feel the need to be on the Interscope one so much anyways? Are you looking to replace this forum, or to do both at the same time? If both, how much more could you possibly even talk about Will Smith than you do here? lol I just don't understand why you care

  3. Like the jumptheshark website said, it was probably edited b/c people, especially ppl from Compton, found it offensive. I understand it's a comedy and it was just a stupid storyline to accomodate lots of Carlton jokes, but it implied that it's nearly impossible to survive in that neighborhood for even one weekend. For families growin up there, I mean... that's not cool to make light of and exaggerate a community's problems like that. And again, it's a comedy, but the stereotyped "Compton-type" gangster characters in that episode were so over the top too

  4. Well my dream has always been that each record company's website would open their own iTunes-like mp3 store. That way, there's no middle man like Apple or Napster to cut away at profits, and since there's no packaging or materials spent - just copying of files - it would literally be 100% profit for the artist and the record company (minus the neglegent recording costs). If it was set up like that, I would say 15 or 20 cents a song would not be unreasonable, and I'd be willing to bet sales would rise considerably if they did it that way... As for on iTunes now, 50 cents would certainly be a bit more reasonable, and they could probably cut it back even more than that (Apple probably takes more of a cut than is necessary... if they took less of a cut and made the costs lower, their profits would probably rise anyways). It doesn't sound like a huge difference from 99 to 50, but it's basically half the cost (obviously), and that adds up (hugely). Just because it sounds like it's not that much, 99 cents is insane when you consider they're selling copied 2 or 3 minute song files. And if you listen to a large scope of music as a fan, those charges can pile up real fast. I just got a iPod mini for my birthday/graduation gift, and it holds approximately 1000 tracks. Let's just say there's not a chance in helllllll I'm filling that thing up with $1000 worth of music lol.

:ridepony: I need to take over the music industry (in my humble opinion)

  5. The independant/big label thing is just how capitalism works and why its difficult to make it big in ANY form of entertainment, but I agree with Hero that supporting small indie artists is probably more important than buying OutKast's Speakerboxxx/Love Below album or something. As for the MC Hammer thing, I never said he wasn't a respectable person or artist. All I'm saying is that the fact that he had a huuuuge mansion and actually tried to employ so many ppl he knew, as noble or whatever as that might be, proves the man was absolutely rolling in ca$h. Yeah he went bankrupt, but not from being slighted on profits as an artist-- to say that is an insult to working ppl who go bankrupt because they can't afford the necessities of life for themselves and their families, period. Anyways, finally, about the 99 cent per song on iTunes being reasonable, which I had missed from Hero's post before-- it's totally ridiculous. I'll pay it for songs I can't find for free or whatever, but there is absolutely no cost in putting up songs as files on a downloading service-- unlike CD's, that 99 cents is virtually all profit. If I just want some random song that I like that's mainstream, I'm not paying a buck for it!!!! Any way you spin that, it's corporate greed.

  6. From jumptheshark.com...

"Does anyone remember the episode when Carlton was hanging out in Compton. He and Will made a bet that he couldn't last there. He ended up staying. They kept referring to Carlton going to Compton and hanging out in Compton, and Will and Aunt Vivian, and the rest of the family was acting like he was hanging out in a Crack House. He was hanging at Jazz's apartment with all these so called hardened street guys. He ended up giving the dudes he was hanging with investment advice and dressing like a gangbanger. He was even telling them what to do like where he was going to sleep. If that wasn't bad enough, when the episode re ran, he wasn't hanging in Compton anymore. They edited the tape to say something else. I guess the people in Compton got mad, and rightfully so. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm the only person that noticed that."

  7. I download quite a lot because I haven´t got the bucks to buy the cds and also because i think some of those artists have got enough money already. Look at will 4 example.

That exactly what wrong with people 2day. If u want something bad enuff u buy it. U can't call yourself a fan or supporter of an artist if u don't buy their album. And if alot of artists don't have much money. That's why artists like MC Hammer, TLC, and Toni Braxton have filed for bankruptsy. They sell millions of albums, but becuz they have jacked up record deals, they only get like 16 cents per CD they sell. So after u adjust to selling 15 millions CDs and your next album sells 3 million, u have 2 adjust again which usually dosen't work very well. People like FP are doing well cuz of the big movies they've done. U think any of the money he made from Willennium or Born To Reign waz a major income 4 him?!?!?

Ummmm if you wanna argue against downloading, fine. But to give the "starving artist" argument, and use MC Hammer as an example??!? :lolsign: Are you serious??!? MC, and many other celebrities, musical and otherwise, file for bankruptsy simply because they get such an obscene amount of money, they think its an endless supply and go insaaaaaaaaaane with their spending. There's a case to be made against wreckless piracy on the internet, but that is not one of them.

  8. In the "can you resist?" thread, there was alotta harsh words for ppl who would download and not buy Lost & Found. Just wonderin, what do you ppl think about downloading in general? Do you think its unnacceptable? Or were u just sayin that b/c you want the JJFP fans here to support Will's music?

Personally, I have iTunes and WinMX icons right next to each other on my computer, and my thing is: if I want a whole album by an artist, I'll just go out and buy it. If I want an obscure song that's on iTunes but not easy to find for free, I'll shell out the ca$h. But otherwise? Like I said in the other board, if I just want a couple random tracks here and there, I'm definately downloading. I don't know about you ppl, but that's where I get the majority of my music.

I thought most ppl felt that way - everyone I know does - but maybe not from the comments on the other board. I mean, the price of music is ridiculous - por ejemple (spanish skillsssssss), 99 cents for a single track on iTunes? I'm not shellin that out, if possible, and I'm not exactly feelin guilty - the record companies are greedy, ppl. It's a revolution! :chuks: (shut up, thats not over dramatic)

  9. I was kind of saying iTunes was a ripoff and that made me wanna steal mp3's off of WinMX instead lol but I do get stuff off iTunes pretty frequently... basically my policy is: only spend money on music if you want a full album (too much trouble to download it all) or if its an obscure track you can only find on, say, iTunes... but if I just want like one random Ludacris song, I will not be paying for that

:chuks: Bring it on, FBI! B/c until prices go down, I will be stealing music (im an outta control rebel)

  10. Of course I'll download it, tho I'll probably buy it cuz getting quality versions of all the trax from an album is usually hard... we've already ripped "Pump ya Brakes" lol... in any case, I refuse to think of piracy as a crime as long as one song on iTunes is one dollar... I think of it more as a boycott, like dumping tea into Boston Harbor or sumthin :antlers: (winking smiley with antlers on)

  11. Jack Johnson's new album that came out last week, In Between Dreams, is amazing... Jurassic 5 is always good... getting into Hieroglyphics a bit thanks to Hero... and I randomly like "The Number One Spot" at the moment, tho I'm not a huge Ludacris fan - mainly b/c he sampled the Austin Powers whistle thing :ridepony:

  12. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! :multibow:

Hero: I know you find all the rare JJFP trax, interviews and articles and whatnot, and you've shown me sum quality new music, but this is your best find yet.

 (this is my favorite one, I think - b/c I'd love to see someone who could actually spin on their head w/out using their hands like that... speaking of which, dance 360, anyone? lol what a terrible show... tag ya man! tag ya man!)

  13. Jadakiss is a ridiculous artist. "Why" was obviously fake and just for sales. His voice annoys me a lil too. But what really gets me is that laugh/cough of his.

And if anyone wants a lil decent laugh, check this below...

That Insult Comic Dog was asked about 50 Cent, about his beefs and being shot 9 times.

Trimph: 50 Cent? I'm not impressed. I've been shot eight times: twice for rabies, six times for gonorrhea.

I agree that "Why" was a ridiculous song... attempted to be political/social commentary, but was just a completely incoherant, disjointed laundry list of observations... and triumph the insult comic dog is the king of the world

  14. I find Lil Jon to be unbelievably annoying, and I wasn't even a big fan of Switch in the first place... but I actually think this remix isnt so bad as you ppl do, might be a lil improvement (in my humble opinion)... but I'm still sure there will be other L&F tracks I like more (hopefully)
