Ydfer3jjaj reacted to Da Brakes in NEW MICHAEL JACKSON ALBUM - 'XSCAPE' IS RELEASED MAY 13 2014
I thought this was an April's Fools but maybe not!

New Michael Jackson album to be released in May

A new Michael Jackson album, featuring eight new tracks from the late artist's archive, will be released on 13 May.
Titled Xscape, the track listing was chosen by Epic Records chairman LA Reid, who trawled through four decades of Jackson's demos and off-cuts.
The tracks were then updated by the likes of Timbaland, who works with Justin Timberlake, and Stargate, who have produced Rihanna and Beyonce.
Reid called the process of reworking the songs "contemporizing".
"Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with," said Reid.
"We are extremely proud and honoured to present this music to the world."
A deluxe edition of the album will also feature the eight tracks in their original form alongside the remixed versions.
Xscape is the only track on the album to be updated by its original producer - Rodney Jerkins, who worked on the sessions for Jackson's final studio album, Invincible, in 2001.
John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of Jackson's estate said: "Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out to new producers, looking for new sounds.
"He was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture that spirit. We thank LA Reid for his vision."
Other producers involved in the project include McClain and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon.
Jackson died on 25 June, 2009, at the age of 50 from an overdose of the powerful anaesthetic propofol.
He had been out of the public eye for several years but was preparing for a series of comeback performances at the O2 arena in London.
Jackson, who was nicknamed The King of Pop, had dozens of hits during a career that began in childhood with the Jackson 5.
His biggest solo hits included Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad and Man in the Mirror.
One previous album of unreleased material, titled Michael, was issued in 2010.
Among its better tracks were Hold My Hand, a duet with R&B singer Akon which was almost complete at the time of his death, and a cover of Yellow Magic Orchestra's Behind the Mask, which dated from the 1980s.
But critics were not keen - with The Guardian calling the album "lumpy" and "schlocky". Rolling Stone magazine noted: "He would not have released anything like this compilation".
However, the album sold relatively well (although well below the 51m he achieved with Thriller) paving the way for future compilations.

Who produced and mixed Hip Hop Forever 1? I always still see both of Jeff's installments on ebay and what not. But never the first one.

Ydfer3jjaj reacted to Abdul1997 in Eddie Murphy & Boomerang Co-Star Halle Berry in New Movie
Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry are coming back together in a new film titled Miles And Me.
The film also stars Laurence Fishburne and is set to begin pre-production later this year and is supposedly from Paramount Pictures.

No other word yet on what the film is about or who else is attached.

This is the first time since Berry and Murphy have been on screen together since 1992′s hit comedy film Boomerang, which was directed by Reggie Hudlin. If you recall , the tabloids stated that Murphy and Berry were supposedly a hot item for a quick moment but things never went anywhere.

Anyway, since that film, Berry has gone on to make several hit films such as the X-Men franchise films and many other dramatic films. Berry even landed an Academy Award for Best Actress in Monster’s Ball in 2001, while Murphy also continued to do many films, including the Shrek and The Nutty Professor franchises just to name a few. Murphy won an Golden Globe for his portrayal as soul singer James "Thunder" Early. Murphy was even nominated for an Oscar for his role in the film Dreamgirls in 2007, but he eventually lost.

Songs of Summer: DJ Jazzy Jeff On ‘Summertime’ & Why Will Smith Misses Rapping

Do you think Will misses those moments of being a rapper and touring?
I’m sure he does. That’s why every chance he gets, and we have an opportunity to get together, we do it. I’m in the process of twisting his arm and doing one more tour.

MTV’s Josh Horowitz chatted up Denzel Washington recently, in support of his starring role in this week’s summer action remake “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.” When Josh asked Washington if there was a genre he’d never touched, he responded with the news that he’s working on some sort of comedy — maybe with an action bent — with Will Smith. The “Pelham” star didn’t have much more to say than that, though with heavy-hitters like Smith and Washington involved it shouldn’t be long before more emerges.
Washington isn’t being entirely honest though. Anyone who’s seen “Ricochet” knows he can be funny. That was a comedy, right? Head over to MTV.com to catch the rest of MTV Rough Cut: Denzel Washington.

Ydfer3jjaj reacted to JumpinJack AJ in CENTRIC WANTS JAMIE FOXX IN BAD BOYS 3
This isn't news, really just an opinion for the people at Centric. I just figured I'd share. It feels good reading "Will Smith has already confirmed that BB3 is in the works." I'd love to see them team up, but not for Bad Boys 3. FP and Martin need to work as a duo. The comedy comes from the fact that the characters they interact with them are nothing like them. For a second I tried to picture Jamie Foxx as a villian, but I think it works better when you don't have one of the biggest names in Hollywood in those roles for the Bad Boys movies.

    "Bad Boys 3
Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do, what you gonna do when they come for you? We couldn’t resist. It’s time Bad Boys switch it up a bit. Will Smith has already confirmed BB3 is in the works and we love the Martin Lawrence and Will dynamic duo. Throw in Foxx for a trio and you have some classic comedic moments. As much as the BB franchise is about drama, what made it work so well was the humor done effortlessly by Martin and Will. If you’ve seen Foxx’s standup comedy movie I Might Need Security, you recognize this trio combination as gold."

Ydfer3jjaj reacted to Nic61974 in Jeff @ Bonnaroo
    Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a lovely week. Jeff is in Nashville, TN at rehearsals for the Superjam at Bonnaroo which is in Manchester, TN.
Bummed that you are going to miss it? Well you're in luck (and so am I) because they are going to stream it!
This is the first time they are streaming a Superjam so we are thrilled to be a part of it.

    Here's the info:

Bonnaroo also will be webcasting a live SuperJam for the first time. This year's SuperJam features RZA, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Schoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, Solange, Chad Hugo (of The Neptunes), Lettuce and special guests.
The webcast will be available for viewing on Bonnaroo.com, Ustream.tv/Bonnaroo, and other partner sites. Check the websites for the performance lineup.
If you are a hip hop fan, the special guests are pretty rad.

The Superjam is scheduled Friday night 12am - 2am Eastern Standard Time.

    Hope you enjoy it.

Ydfer3jjaj reacted to KevTastic in Anybody else laughing at this Beamz - Grandmaster Jay Fiasco?
So there's this company called Beamz who have produced a DJ controller that lets you use your hand to start and stop tracks / samples.

However they've gone all out with a promotional video with the "legendary" Grandmaster Jay (Who i have never come across in my history or reading in Hip Hop.) Who does a demonstration. He literally fakes DJ-ing a recording of Jeff's routines performed live. So poorly executed in the edit that you can hear the crowd and Skillz over the top of it.

Jeff's not been happy. The DJ world has not been happy. Its snowballed into this hate campaign against the company and this character that they've invented Grandmaster Jay.

Ydfer3jjaj reacted to JumpinJack AJ in THE QUEEN LATIFAH SHOW
Queen Latifah is doing big things with her show, so I figured it'd be a good idea to start a topic where we can constantly post interviews and performances from her show. I wanted to start it off with her recent polished performance of "Just Another Day." This is one of my all time favorite Latifah songs, and while I wish it was grittier and the full version, this polished version is still excellent.
