8. The boisterous DJ Elephant Man (aka Energy God) was born O'Neil Bryan in 1974. Overly large ears as a child earned him the nickname "Dumbo Elephant" from his classmates in the Seaview Gardens area of Kingston, Jamaica. Shabba Ranks and Bounty Killer were Seaview residents at the time, and with King Jammy's studio not so far away, Elephant Man had an early exposure to dancehall culture. While singing at the gates of Ranks and Jammy's studios, Bounty Killer heard him and suggested forming a group with other Seaview teens. The group was originally called the Seaview Family, but after Bounty Killer had a massive hit with "Big Guns Scare Dem," the name changed to Scare Dem Crew. Scare Dem Crew only released one album but played multiple festivals around Jamaica, giving Elephant Man a chance to refine his on-stage persona. Dancehall night at 1998's Reggae Sumfest was a highlight, with Elephant Man climbing up a television camera crane and delivering his energetic rhymes high above the audience. The rest of Scare Dem started to question the DJ's ability to be a team player and Elephant Man left the group feeling disrespected. Solo, he was able to incorporate the hip-hop rhythms he loved on his full-length debut, Comin' 4 You, released by Greensleeves in 2000. The title cut from his second release, Log On, was a huge hit and the album's WTC attacks commentary attracted a wealth of attention from the press. A duet with one of Elephant Man's favorite rappers, Busta Rhymes, appeared on a remix of Lil Jon's "Get Low," and Mariah Carey recruited the DJ for an appearance on her Charmbracelet album. Atlantic Records took note of his growing popularity and released his major-label debut, Good 2 Go, in late 2003 while his "Pon di River, Pon di Bank" single was taking urban radio by storm.
 9.
Will: I'm a little teapot short and stout, here is my handle, here is my spout.
10.
Poorly selected singles has helped blow off many old school fans, and only appeal to temporary fans before the songs become "unpopular" and "yesterdays news" so everyone loses out in the long run. All the fans from the Big Willie Style era can't have all disappeared.
i think a lot of the bws fans were teeny bopper girls and young kids..and they are never gonna hang around... in fact when willennium came out all these people said they hate the album and the only traxs they liked were will2k and freakin it u can check the amazon reviews for the proof :poke: i think theres a lot more kinda dormant ol skool jjfp fans that would buy a new jjfp album than those past BWS era fans
 11. jeff s son posted on his board i guess hes about 17 now..hes got a group him 2 other emcees and a dj and they are workin on sum music
 12. basically for willennium..will went to philly stayed with jeff and a touch of jazz for a few months..hung out at all the places he used to hang out and recorded the album!! that is why its so dope! i wish will would do the same thing for his newer albums.. it just has a nice ol skool feel to it..which is from that environement he was making the music in :thumb:

 21.
see how bad his singles represent him?! lol....well the post-97 ones...
boom didnt represent code red at all.. and basically all of sony singles and to a lesser extent a lot of jives singles... its a pity many people dont realise how dope the albums are :ditto:
 22. i think it was mailed from canada? or maybe not
 23. the promotion by columbia up to the albums release was brilliant! it sold 2.1 million in the first few months.. then they decided to release freakin it (horrible choice) and that really only made 2 singles/videos from the album..when that wasnt a hit they didnt promote it at all.. bws got 5 singles/videos.. if sony had bothered to keep promoting it ..releasing singles etc i think it could have sold 6 million easily...
 24.
Yeah, I kinda wish Will was like 2pac...lyrically better. Not controversal though but whatever he does, chances are I'm definatly gonna like it no matter what. Alot of people ask me, "well, what does Will Smith rap about?" ..."he doesnt really rap about anything"....ive also read it in some reviews and I still havent been able to answer.
will raps about life..girls..fame..dreams..growing up..family..he tells storys.. he represnts ol skool raps..raps about how dope jeff is... :poke: will might not have the skills of other rappers but he makes up for it with his personality/honesty/emotions and fun
