To no one's surprise, Jay-Z debuts at #1 on the Nielsen Soundscan charts released today. With the holiday craze in full swing, Kingdom Come moved over 680,000 units making it the highest debut for a rap album and the 2nd highest debut of the year. It is the ex-retiree's biggest sales week ever, as well as his ninth No. 1 on the chart. He thusly ties the Rolling Stones for the third-most No. 1s, behind the Beatles with 19 and Elvis Presley with 10.

This'll be Jay-Z' final #1 album if LL decides to knock him out, he probably bought most of those albums himself 'cause I don't see what all the hype's about, Game, Snoop, and Fat Joe all put out better albums than him this month, probably even the doctored 2Pac album is better than his album, he shouldn't have dropped DMX either 'cause he put out a great record too, record sales don't mean ****, if that were the case Eminem and Vanilla Ice are the GOAT right? Watch his sales drop once he stops paying for his TV appearances, it's time to promote the other artists on there like LL, Method Man, Roots, and Lady Soverign, and if he don't promote Nas' record he could get ethered for good as well :nhawong: On another note I think Game's song was #3 on TRL yesterday so he'll be fine, Jay-Z' song didn't even make the countdown that's how much the hype's dying down already, it's gonna be a big fall off for his sales, lol, Fat Joe's album sales will probably increase dramatically since the next single is "War" with Game, that's probably one of the better tracks on there...

"Fat Joe's album sales will probably increase dramatically since the next single is "War" with Game, that's probably one of the better tracks on there..."

Yes... cause doing a single with Game who's album flopped is very good. Or not.

Man i rest my case. You saying Jays album is wack is a perfect example of what I brought up in the "Are we ruining hiphop"-thread.

You diss it cause U ain't listened to it. Comparing it with Fat Joes piece of garbage album or Games "64 Impala & Dre" album is pure stand-up comedy man. And I even liked Games album.

D'evils, Regrets, Can't Knock the hustle, Dead Presidents, 22 Two's, A Million & One Questions, This Can't Be Life, A Dream, The Watcher, Renegade, Heart Of The City, Song Cry, U don't know, Takeover, What more can I say, 99 Problems, Dirt off your shoulder, Moment Of clarity, Lucifer, Minority Report, Lost One and Beach Chair.

So.... Fat Joe still better?

I ain't ruining hip-hop one bit, if I don't feel Jay-Z songs as much as Fat Joe, Game, FP, LL, DMX, etc. then I just can't put him above all of them, Fat Joe is an ill spitting mc, so what he don't have the commercial success that Jay-Z has, does that mean that he's less talented? KRS and Rakim are on the same level as LL Cool J and FP even though they don't sell the same amount of records, so Nas and Fat Joe are on the same level as Jay-Z and Eminem even though they don't sell the same amount, when Biggie was alive he said that he enjoyed Fat Joe's "Jealous Ones Envy" record, KRS-ONE and LL got love for Fat Joe too

Where do I say that? You said Fat Joe sales will increase cause of the collabo with Game. It won't because the mainstream audience ain't checkin for Game so much. Joe isn't relevant to the game anymore. Joe hasn't delivered anything near Jealous Ones Envy since that dropped.

I don't give a damn about which legend likes which rapper. Fun for them.

Well Jay-Z hasn't dropped anything close to Reasonable Doubt either, he's only hyped up 'cause he got popular songs on the radio, it's like Jigga and Em could throw up on records and sell a million 'cause of how famous they are, I mean just look how much "Kingdom Come" and "Encore" have sold, they're nowhere near as good as "Slim Shady LP" and "Reasonable Doubt" that sold less, sales don't mean ****, I love "L&F" much better than "Big Willie Style"

Listen to songs like "Not Your Average Joe", "John Blaze", "Benedicion Mami", "My Fo' Fo", "Make It Rain", "Breathe and Stop", "All I Need", "Get The Hell On With That", "Damn", and "My Lifestyle" that he released after "Jealous Ones Envy" and tell me that Fat Joe can't rap at a high level like Jay-Z, it's a joke that you make it look like only Jay-Z' a great rapper, that's really what's ruining hip-hop, Jay-Z ain't the one man hip-hop show, other greats have to shine too, there's a lot of great rappers on Def Jam that need to promoted and all labels for that matter which ain't his fault that's the industry's fault, but he's gonna catch the heat 'cause not only he's an artist, he's supposed to be the president of the greatest rap label ever, he needs to work what he pays for, he can't only rap and not promote anybody on the label, and besides that as an artist you figure he'd try to help good music sell and protect the legacy of Def Jam, he's not being paid for rapping and ignore promoting the quality artists, he looking no different than the suit and ties that're ruining the industry by shoving garbage down our throats, he needs to show more heart and integrity if he respects the legacy of Russell Simmons and Def Jam, btw not only do KRS and LL got love for Fat Joe, I mean listen to the songs that they did with Fat Joe and tell me that he's not a great rapper, they know firsthand 'cause they worked with him
