Richie and managers of Las Vegas, Nevada's trendy Pure nightclub, where DJ AM has a residency, conspired to treat the record spinner to a 33rd birthday to remember. Richie and Avril Lavigne joined DJ and 100 of his friends and family at the surprise party. An insider says, "Adam thought he'd be working on Saturday night. He quickly found out that he had the night off. Taking his place was his childhood idol, DJ Jazzy Jeff. "Having never seen a set by Jazzy, AM became extremely excited, hugging and kissing Nicole, who stood by his side the entire evening." Richie also made a special toast to her ex, stating, "This is his eighth year of sobriety. I'm so proud of you. You've come so far and I love you so much."
