WIN DJ TUITION WITH JAZZY JEFF
DJmag and Defected Records have teamed up to offer one lucky person (and their best mate) the front seats at Jazzy Jeff’s forthcoming DJ masterclass.

To celebrate the release of Jazzy’s first ever house compilation (released on Defected), the American DJ has been invited by Guildford’s Academy for Contemporary Music as a guest lecturer on 30th September.

The winner of the competition will be invited to attend a short seminar by Jazzy and witness a live mixing demonstration. The winner will then be called up by the DJ in front of the class to witness his techniques, first hand.

All travel expenses will be covered by Defected, and the prize also includes tickets and VIP treatment to see Jeff play live at a Defected Most Rated gig.

Jazzy has been a household name since the mid-1980s thanks to a string of hits alongside rapper-turned-actor Will Smith. Together they introduced America’s suburbia to hip hop and sold over 10 million records. Over the years they notched up a shed load of accolades including three Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, and an MTV award.

To win this superb prize answer this question:

What is the name of the scratch technique that Jazzy invented? (Clue: its name is also the title of a famous cult animation series).

Email your answers here, and don't forget to include FULL contact details. Please write 'Jazzy' as the subject of the email.

The competition is only open to UK residents.

‘Jazzy In the House’ is released on Defected 18th October 2004.
Man, this is the one time I wish I was in the UK. I've wanted to work with him for a long time.

Good luck James.

God Blessa!
You trying to say the UK isn't worth being in anyway?
