  10. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1001882031 R&B legend Wilson Pickett died of a heart attack today (Jan. 19) at a Reston, Va., hospital near his home, according to a spokesperson for the artist. He was 64. Born in Pratville, Ala., Pickett moved to Detroit as a teen and joined the Falcons, singing on their 1962 hit "I Found a Love." By 1965, he had signed a solo deal with Atlantic, scoring a No. 21 pop hit with "In the Midnight Hour," which he co-wrote with legendary sessions musician Steve Cropper. A slew of late '60s R&B/soul hits followed, including "Land of 1,000 Dances," "Funky Broadway," "634-5789," "She's Lookin' Good" and "Mustang Sally." As the '70s dawned, Pickett scored three consecutive top 20 pop singles with "Engine Number 9," "Don't Let the Green Grass Fool You" and "Don't Knock My Love Pt. 1." In all, five of his singles reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B charts. Pickett associated himself with some of the top sessions musicians of the time, and was a frequent visitor to Stax and Muscle Shoals Studios. He even hired the late Duane Allman to play guitar on his 1969 cover of the Beatles' "Hey Jude." Pickett recorded regularly into the mid 1980s and was a 1991 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That year, his career was revived thanks to the film "The Commitments," which followed an unknown Irish soul band of the same name pursuing its dream of performing with Pickett. The artist also joined the band for performances at the Los Angeles and New York film premieres. The artist's last studio album, 1999's "It's Harder Now," won WC Handy Awards for soul/blues album of the year and comeback album of the year, while Pickett was named soul/blues male artist of the year. Pickett is survived by his fiance and four children. He will be buried beside his mother Lena in Louisville, Ky. ------------ Since nobody brought it up yet, I`ll do it. R.I.P. Wilson.
  11. "But you datin an ex-dude wit a thong" :lolsign:
  12. LL-Going Back To Cali? :lolsign:
  13. Well actualy I want him as an Entertainer. "I`m the female atracted Rapper/Actor..". I dont want him to quit anything. But if realy would have to choose, I would go for him as a Rapper. Luckily I never have to make that choice, so it`s all good.
  14. I would join, i just cant guarante my english will be anything..
  15. I just listend again to that new LL song "Control Myself". And I noticed that it has the same melody and the same type of rhyming like Tone-Loc`s "Wild Thing". "Control Myself" souns like like a remake or a remix form "Wild Thing" or something like that :stars: Anyone noticed that too?
  16. I would love to have that Kriss Kross, Biz Markie and LL Video. I came down on those 3.
  17. It`s a program Google uses to check out if it`s good for theyr standarts, I think.
  18. Biz Markie - Just a Friend JJFP - Brand New Funk (!) Kriss Kross - Jump (!) LL Cool J - I'm Bad (!) Michael Jackson - Remember the Time Queen Latifah - U.N.I.T.Y Sugar Hill - Rapper's Delight (!) I would love to have those, please.
  19. Ja lost some comeriual crowd by beefing with 50, but people forgot that by now, thts why it`s going up again. But Ja never lost his Street Followers.. But 50 lost most of them now, caus of his beef with fat Joe, Jadakiss and Nas.. Renegade: 50 may sell more than othe others, I cant front on that...50 `s still on top. BUT if you just look at the battle Traks, he got ripped. He wasnt able to top Ja`s "Warp Freestyle". And he came back on the disses of Fat Joe, Nas, Game and Jada with "Window Shopper" which is clearly bellow the level of they disstracks they made. Please, dont look at this as a 50 fan. Look objective at the batlle tracks.. Oha and yeah, Ja wasnt the only reaspn that new York was hard. But he was the only reason that the Songs "Last Of Mohicans","Gun Talk","R.U.L.E." etc where hard, on that album.
