  1. really will don't wanna start beef with em, 'cause let's face it, the whole world is on the side of the aftermath/shady family and with all their beefs against other rap acts...

Come on man, anybody could beat Benzino and Ja Rule, they're the worst mcs to ever step on the mic, but I don't think anybody could beat Will Smith except maybe LL, Rakim,Chuck D, or KRS-ONE(even those battles would be tight), they don't wanna beef with Will, he may have a clean cut image and hasn't beefed, but with his intelligence and his skills, he could destroy any mainstream rapper out now, they're a bunch of phonies! :ali: Will Smith sets the trends, everyone else is just following trends!

okay i'm letting Benzino go b/c he was never popular or good in the first place. Ja Rule sucks, but if u don't remember, before there was 50, Ja was immensely popular. Because of 50, Jas fans all flocked away. This isn't based on lyrical talent. Most of young America doesn't buy into that. U need to recognize fun music is what most people are into in mainstream America. Ja was the guy who gave that, now it's 50 who took away Ja's popularity.

  2. whoa calm down ppl... i didn't know ya'll would get this excited and overreact, or I wouldn't have posted it here. First of all let me give u guys some facts. Not opinions. When 50Cent dissed JaRule, Ja's career went south. When Benzino came out against Eminem, most ppl thought Benzino lost that battle. (well Benzino is wack, but still). Right now, like it or not, Shady/Aftermath and G-Unit is running the rap game. Under G-Unit, 50Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and their group CD all went platinum. Game is looking certain to cross the platinum mark next week. I don't care if u guys think they're "wack", and that's your opinion. However, they are running things now in terms of popularity and sales. We're not talking about skills here. As much as I would like Will to go after Eminem, the typical, white, no-nothing about rap boys are going to represent in sales on Eminem's side. Ppl who appreciate rap as an art and are tired of Eminem's white ass are gonna go for Will (as evident in here and the allhiphop topic). I don't want Will's career possibly damaged by Eminem or any of the Shady/Aftermath crew. Rap beefs get dirty, and if Will makes a remark, it won't just include him. They'll bring in his family, fans, etc. I personally don't see why you're all soooo excited when I see possible reprecussions. I think this little remark is past and Will does not need to bring in more haters by addressing an old thing. So far, the G-unit camp is cool with Will and has shown nothing but respect for him, but if Will brings up Eminem again, that'll turn the G-unit camp into unnecessary haters.

  3. wow, there's a surprising number of people supporting Will over there, some of them seem like hardcore fans. Maybe someone from here who is a member over there should contact them and let them know about this site.

a lot of the guys i know on the board are black, so i guess they're tired of Eminem. Black pride! lol... Just supporting their guy

but anyways, I sorta don't think it's true b/c it's been 7 yrs past, plus, they're on the same record label now. I don't know if Jimmy Iovine is gonna let it get on. He stopped the 50cent diss to Jadakiss recently b/c they too are labelmates.

  4. I don't know if it's true or not but I got it from Allhiphop's forum:

    http://community.allhiphop.com/showthread....96&page=1&pp=25

    --------------

lol some people just cant let **** go, whats its been like 6-7 years since Em dissed Will on "The Real Slim Shady"...anyway i just heard on the Chio in the Morning Show (Q102 Philly). Will Smith said he has a song on his new cd responding to all the negativity in his life. "I have a little something for Eminem" he said. He said he always keeps it classy, lol so dont expect nothin too much, but its Will Smith so I wasnt expecting too much anyway

    --------------------

    ^^^^

is basically what it says. Most people on the board are backing Will on this one and dissing Em. U don't gotta read the comments, a few ignorant ones, surprising pro-Will, but that's the rumor.

  5. switch still hasn't grown on me 2 the level i expected it 2 but that's ok cuz i still got tons of confidence in the new album. as far as comparing Headsprung and Switch, i'd have to go with headsprung on that.

OMG Headsprug is one of the worst party tracks i've heard. LL is capable of doing better. Headsprung was crap. The beat, the lyrics (especially), the song overall, and the video. Corny is the best word to describe it.

  6. here's another one:

    --------------------------------------------

    Soooooo funny!!, 29 January 2005

Author: mglaeske (mglaeske@sbcglobal.net) from United States

I got tickets to a free screening of Hitch and thought it would be a cute movie. It was so much more. The entire audience was cracking up throughout the whole movie. i thought that we'd see the funniest parts of the movie in the trailer, but those scenes only scratch the surface. I'd have to say that this is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Will Smith & Kevin James were great!!!

Also, some romantic comedies are way too cheesy. That wasn't the case with Hitch. I'm definitely going to buy this movie when it comes out on DVD. But, for you cheap people who don't like to spend the $$$ to go to the movies (like me), this one is well worth the money. I may even go see it again when it opens.

Besides being extremely funny, it has really great shots of New York!!

  7. I don't know why everyone wants 2 compare "Switch" 2 "Headsprung." I think "Headsprung" is the better song. "Headsprung" is the personification of a club banger and i never heard anyone knock the song. "Switch" is ill, and while it'll be welcomed in the clubs, it's not just a club banger...it's a party track, it's got a bit of an island feel in the drums, it's not overly aggressive. Comparing the songs seems irrelevant 2 me.

oh lord... u r one of the few who liked it. Everyone thought LL's rhymes in that one were horrid. "They call me big-eleh, big silleh..." I don't think that's cool at all. Sorry. The rhymes Will has in Switch are simple, but I like the beat and lyrics in Switch waay better.

  8. who said snoop dogg is on the album? how do we know that? Just because somebody heard that somewhere? I mean as soon as Will or Snoop don't say that themselves I don't believe it....it is a rumour I guess...If snoop won't be on the album everybody will be dissappointed...that's why I am pessimistic..

i wont be dissapointed thats 4 sure lol. There is a link somewhere that says, kayne, mary j, timbaland, snoop, elephant man are gonna be on the album, its not 100% but it was on a site that had news on lost and found, there were also rumours about other ppl like Justin Timberlake and Petey Pablo but i guess they didnt make the final cut.

maybe petey Pablo did make the cut, but he isn't really well-known to the point where he would be mentioned. The guy did 4 tracks with Will, I think at least one would be included (like it or not)

  9. dont mess with charlie mack!!  :kekeke:  :kekeke:

ahhh no wonder it looked different. U changed my topic title haha... Was it really Charlie Mack? Maybe the way the writer put the words was wrong, but if Will did get arrested, I never knew. He did say in an interview on the Early Show that he did have problems before becoming a known celebrity and he messed up "under the radar" so not too many people knew.

  10. I dont think that this is a good single for Will to be putting out.  It lacks the format of other songs (16 bar verses) and he there wasn't much substance in what he said.  I would have liked to see a more polished sound and a better format.

okay let's be real here... what song out there in mainstream rap right NOW has substance? The most played here in LA are: Disco Inferno-50Cent, Drop it like It's Hot-Snoop, How We Do-Game, Bring Em Out- T.I just to name a few. They're all real big tracks and they have little substance. Sure they're a bit longer than Switch, but hey, there have been short rap songs that have become hits. I'll compare Switch to LL Cool J's Headsprung b/c that song was a dance song, which also had short verses. I'm a stickler for good rap music, and if I were to compare Headsprung to Switch, I gotta say Switch is a better song and has a better video. Headsprung was kinda corny, and most ppl said so too. Switch might be what ppl expect from Will Smith, but it does sound a bit new from what he usually puts out. I think it'll do fine on the radio, figuring they put Headsprung out, and that was played to death out here.

BTW: if you're looking for a hit song out now with substance, the radio is the wrong place 2 be lookin.

  11. assault in 1989?? Never heard this before but here's a part of an article:

But he's also known in celebrity circles, which is perhaps why Cosby hired him. Previously, he defended David Cone, the ex-New York Yankees and New York Mets pitcher who faced allegations of sex assault in 1991. Police never brought charges against Cone, and Phillips hopes the same fate awaits Cosby. Phillips also represented rapper and movie star Will Smith, who was charged with assault in 1989 after his bodyguard allegedly attacked someone.

Here's the link to the rest of the article:

  12. Would it be a problem if I linked the 'Switch' vid to some sites to spread the word?? I wanted to get your suggestions and comments first before I do. If it's a problem let me know. If not, i'm hoping I could help spread the word a bit.

  13. What I heard before the movie is what they wanted to do was prequels.

And do you have a source? I didn't know Will was still going to be doing the movies.

    God Blessa!

of course will is gonna still do movies!! What r u thinking??

  14. Xzibit waz a different emcee when he 1st came out. I liked maybe half of his stuff. It wazn't always my kinda music but i liked it. He's slowly changed in wayz that make my lose interest in his newer stuff. I think he's really funny on Pimp My Ride tho.' U see his real self acting all goofy and stuff instead of acting hard.

^^^how did he change?? I'm still proud 2 say he's reppin the west coast or cali still. And people know the west has kinda faded out. His style hasn't changed. He's still good. MTV leaked his album, go listen to it. It's pretty good.

  15. mimi u cant say that around here, KRS-One is revered like jesus on this board..which is fine if you're a fan of his..but when he says something that messed up, and if some1 was to defend his comments, thatd b just kinda sad

well, someone has to say it. I can't accept the fact that ppl would be so narrow-minded just b/c they're fans of his. If he didn't say it, I would have no problem with him. But since he did, I'm gonna let it be known that I don't respect him, even whatever he did in the rap game. If Will said he "cheered" like KRS, I would lose respect for Will too. But their comments are way different. When KRS made the statement on 9/11, Bill O'reilly (who's pretty conservative on his views) on the FOX news Channel, went off on him. KRS was seen as heartless. But he talked about Will's statement not too long ago, and said Will shouldn't be boycotted b/c he gave a political opinion. Will said nothing offensive to the victims, it was a matter of how his life did not change according to race. Even Bill O'Reilly can tell the difference and he doesn't like Hollywood mixing with politics. He can tell, sadly people here seem to think KRS One's comments and Will's are similar.

  16. if KRS-One actually said that, then he is a heartless bastard who i really hate..never a big fan of his music anyways..but about FP, if 15 people want to boycott his movies, fine..let them

he really did say it. There was an audio circultaing with him on it saying it. But looks like no one heard it around here...

  17. Hey now show some respect for KRS-ONE, he came from the golden age of hip-hop just like Will has and has a lot of things positive for the hip-hop community like writing books and building temples but the mainstream doesn't acknowledge that so I think that it'd be complete bull**** if they come out and bash him for those statements that he made last month, and just 'cause he sold less records, doesn't do movies, ain't a household name, and is less sexy looking than Will is doesn't mean that he has less heart than Will does, if your ass doesn't know about KRS-ONE's legacy than you my friend are the jackass! :ditto: I like those statements that Will made too 'cause he's showing that he ain't afraid to speak his mind, a lot of Hollywood stars don't have the balls to speak their minds, but Will's using his fame wisely!
