  2. Interview Talks bout bombing* trains with Pac, growing up breakdancing in queens and more. Really nice interview. * Bombing = illegal train-graffitti
  3. Dope as hell. His first single. It's released as a promosingle. It sounds like Just Blaze
  4. Rumours is saying that it was Dame Dash idea to diss Jay. Cam owes alot to Dame for his current situation and Dash has no voice to say what he wants. So industry rumours are saying that it was DASH who was behind the diss, he basically used 'Ron to diss HOV, nad Cam'ron was the only rapper arrogant enough to think they can flip the table with Jay. Jay is goign to have a live, online chat with his fans at rocafella.com the 15february... he's got something to say according to DEF JAM officialls.
  5. Hey... dudes are saying at AHH that they heard it.. Could it be true? Not impossible...
  6. Lindsay looking better now. She had a real bad time looking really skinny. But she's looking better. I remember her in the Mean Girls era. DAAOYMN!
  7. "Jay-Z says he's not bothered by former Def Jam star Cam'ron, who recently released Gotta Love It, in which he disses Jay-Z. "The artist in me tells me to respond to that immediately," Jay-Z says. "But I know what that's all about. He has an album coming (Killa Season), and how else is he going to get mentioned in USA TODAY or other publications?"" http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-0...htm?POE=LIFISVA There's also some real good read about his situation with Nas.
  8. Allhiphop is loving will's "response". Hope it's true.
  9. I'm hundred per cent sure that if Tell me why gets released, he does like one late show apperance, a couple of radiostations, 2-3 shows. And the plat would be certified in sold albums too.
  10. Just heard a rumour from a friend at a record label. A very reliable source, that Will is goign to ship platinum. he has not sold platinum, but is on his way to ship it. Lost and found is a bit from 700k in sales. Apperantly it's going to happen in the near 3 months.
  11. Also forgot: Dj Premier has confirmed that he will be doing alot of beats for Nas. It's rumoured it's gon be a Premier album, with only Nas on it + some guests.
  12. Dreamsong: Nas feat LL Cool J & Jay-Z - The Greatest.
  13. NY Times Article Rapper Nas Is to Join Label Led by Former Rival Jay-Z By JEFF LEEDS The rap superstars Jay-Z and Nas, who hurled bitter insults at each other in rhyme for years in one of rap's most prominent feuds, have reached a deal that would formalize their much-publicized recent truce and transform the two onetime foes into business partners, according to music industry executives involved in the arrangement. The long-rumored deal sets the stage for Nas to join the artist roster of Def Jam Recordings, the rap label where Jay-Z became president last year in an unusual executive shuffle. But the two stars' personal cease-fire also evolved into an unconventional treaty of sorts between their competing record labels. As part of the deal, Nas's longtime record company, Sony Music, and Def Jam will split the profits - or any loss - from his next two albums, the sources said. Def Jam is expected to lay out the cost of producing and marketing the recordings, and to divide the profits after recovering its expenses. The two music companies will jointly plan and oversee the albums' marketing campaigns. The agreement pays Nas about $3 million, including a recording budget, for each of the first two albums, and provides for two additional albums with Def Jam, the sources said. Sony also retains the right to release a Nas greatest hits album, they added. Representatives from Def Jam and Sony declined to comment. As a result of the deal, Nas's next album instantly becomes one of hip-hop's most anticipated recordings of the year. It is expected to include the first significant collaboration between two wordsmiths who long battled each other for the title of New York's best rapper. The two stars stunned fans in October, when Jay-Z was to headline a radio-sponsored concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J. He had titled the performance "I Declare War" and billed it as a chance to settle scores. Instead, near the end of the show, Jay-Z, announced, "It's bigger than 'I Declare War.' " Nas, dressed in an Army jacket, appeared onstage, and the crowd roared. The two performed and then embraced, ending their long-standing dispute. The rapprochement was an unusual moment in modern hip-hop, where the list of "beefs," or quarrels between rivals, is so extensive that the commercial rap field occasionally draws comparisons to professional wrestling. But there is a basic difference: the taunts and insults batted back and forth between rappers have occasionally turned into real-world violence, as when a shootout erupted between the entourage of Lil' Kim and supporters of her rival Foxy Brown in 2001 outside the offices of the hip-hop station Hot 97, WQHT-FM. Indeed, critics have complained that the industry's top rappers, record labels and radio stations intentionally stoke such tensions and imperil lives for financial gain. Some observers suggest that the rivalry between Nas and Jay-Z - regarded as veterans in a field where music trends shift overnight - had simply worn itself out. The drama of a feud "sells when you're young and you're believably in a situation where it can be dangerous," said Sacha Jenkins, editorial director of Mass Appeal, an urban lifestyle magazine based in Brooklyn. "It's just not believable from two grown men. I think they're making a unique and potentially wise business decision." Music executives at the two companies are betting it will be a lucrative one. Nas had one more album due on his contract with Sony; now the company will have, in essence, half of two Nas albums, while remaining in a position to keep working with the rapper on a variety of other projects, including a possible film. For its part, Def Jam and its corporate parent, Universal Music Group, add a respected artist to their ranks at a time when the label is trying to refresh its roster. (Def Jam also recently negotiated the exit of one of its veteran acts, DMX, who signed a reported three-album deal with Sony.) Shifts in relationships among artists have driven the two companies to make power- and profit-sharing deals before, as in the case of the rock band Audioslave (created from the ashes of the Sony rap-rock act Rage Against the Machine and the Universal grunge-rock band Soundgarden). The two companies take turns distributing the band's albums. In this case, though, Def Jam and its president will be promoting a rap star whose commercial clout has been called into questioned by Jay-Z himself. Nas, whose real name is Nasir Jones, has sold more than 11 million albums, according to Nielsen SoundScan data, starting with his classic 1994 debut, "Illmatic." (Jay-Z has sold roughly twice that amount.) Nas's most recent release, "Street's Disciple" in 2004, sold an estimated 687,000 copies, though it was a more expensive two-CD set. Before their recent reconciliation, the two had skewered each other for years in a battle in which they appeared to represent two versions of hip-hop, with Jay-Z cast as the savvy hustler and Nas as the brooding street poet. The rappers emerged as adversaries during the jockeying over who would reign as New York's top rapper after the 1997 shooting death of Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls. It boiled over in 2001, when the two released new albums that included songs directly attacking each other. Jay-Z, in the song "Takeover," teased his rival for selling fewer albums, rapping that Nas "fell from top 10 to not mentioned at all." Nas fired back with the incendiary track "Ether," in which he accused Jay-Z of plagiarism, asking "How much of Biggie's rhymes is gon' come out your fat lips?" Jay-Z then responded with a hastily recorded track, "Super Ugly," that described his affair with the mother of Nas's child. In an interview later on Hot 97, Jay-Z apologized to the woman's family and said his mother had called on his cellphone to chastise him for going too far. More recently, the two had retreated from their harshest criticisms, but their public peacemaking still caught many fans by surprise. Mr. Jenkins suggested that the two stars might have realized they had beaten the odds and had the chance to enjoy career longevity in the corporate music world. "In order to be productive in that world," he added, "certain things have to change and you leave certain things behind." Aaaw man. This going to be niiiice. Nas with some good beats, duet with Jay, good marketing, some real music being marketed fo real. The first album gone have productions by The Neptunes (the famous 2 million dollar beat), Dre, Kanye, Will.I.Am, Hi-Tek and more. I've always wanted to hear him on good beats, cause that has been his biggest flaw. Alot of wack beats.
  14. The movie flopped hard as hell. And that's dope as hell. His game flopped 2.
  15. No, Game dropped How We DO, Hate it or love it. then he beefed, they kissed and made up, game dropped dreams, they beefed again, dreams died out, put you on the game came out without promo. Before him droppping Dreams, he had sold about 90%, when put you on the game dropped, he had sold about 98%. 50 tried to kill game even more by making dre not to produce his next album, that didn't succeed.
  16. Ted// Game dropped How We do, Dreams, and that Hate it or Love it while being cool with 50. At that point he sold 98% of his album sales. Then Put You on the game dropped without promo and without a "real" video. By that time all promo for the documentary had been cancelled. If Jay responds, I will have mixed feelings, most of all I will be pretty sad for him doing it this way, just giving Cam credibilty by responding, but then again... I'm sure if he drops a diss, Cam will have nothing to say, no matter how many washed out disses he's got under his belt. Cause the first sing that usually is considered the "realest" diss was really, really, really weak.
  17. Read up dawg. 50 cent stopped the game from releasing singles from documentary, all promotion was pulled in. Put you on the game vid was funded by game, radiostations didn't play it much at all. Where did u hear the rumours about jay doing a diss? cause that seems far away. + him calling in radiostations is more close to the true cause obviously miss jones at 97 said it yesterday night. As i said before... jay's a hustler/business man first. family man second, and rapper third.don't forget that. camron tried to play with the big fellas... he got schooled. check my previous posts for more. cause this discussion ain't gonna go anywere.it's gone end up with ted namedropping old school mc's with to connection to the topic as usual =)
  18. I get your point. And you prolly get mine =) Let's leave it at that. Ted// Well the thing with Will is just another example of the hiphop community freezing Will out. Unfair as hell. But still.. alot of people know that Bow Wow just a little gimmick. The respond on boards have been good.
  19. The ROC thing wasn't just for Hay to handle. The deal was simple: Dame would get the whole roc, rocawera, armadale vodka, roc films and all that. Jay would get the masters for reasonable doubt. Dame didn't want that. So jay basically said: Ait then.. be a bitch about it. So he "took" everything (dame could stop him, but he didn't, as a owner Dame also had a part in selling it) Well the LL tracks against canibus are good. Cause he keeps it simple, he responds, he says true stuff. The line about 99& of his fan base if hilarious.
  20. -- I mean.. Y'all can't front on this: Peace ---> War Unity ---> Fighting And you can't front on the fact that Cam'Rons diss is trash in matter of subjects. 1. Dame could've have Roc if he wanted. He was shady against Jay for the Reasonable Doubt masters. 2. Kanye choose the label he wanted to go to. 3. Who gives a **** about if Jay is ugly. What the hell has that to do with anything in the world? 4. Jay's clothing. I mean... who cares? 5. Jay using Biggies material. That's the only one i could accept. But then again.. as i said.. i would rather see jay tributing this way rather than making a weak duets album just makin money of him. In jay's retirement show... he wore a Biigggie t-shirt. That's what I call a tribute. I think Jay is thinking: This song is trash. WHY should he get the hype of my name for his own album? I don't want him to sell records of my name. So i'mma see what he can do without me. That's how a businessman and a hustler thinks. And that is what Jay is right now... Business man, then a soon to be family man... THEN a rapper.
  21. Still its wack to do. If Jigga would be above that diss stuff (Like Frenetic says), he woulnt do **** like this. He would just let it be.. Answer or leave it. But dont do coward **** like this. And Frenetic: I dont say antyhing should be positive, nether does Ted. I say (Anbd he said that often also) that Rappes should just rap about waht they know, stay true to them selfes. Cam is a hustler, so why talking about stuff he doesnt know **** about, just caus its more positive? And whats wrong with battling? I`m shure you juts said caus one of you favs is dissed. You wouldnt say that if Jigga would have dissed Cam insteed. It`s is a part of Hip Hop. A important part, if you ask me. If you cant take that go listen to more Pop Songs Kanye made.. WAR is a important part of humanity, does that make it legit? I wouldn't want Jigga to diss Cam'ron, cause that would be stupid. I was a happy as **** when i heard about the peace concert. War didnt start for good reasons. Battling has a good meaing behind it : To stop them fighting hand to hand and to let them work it out with raps. Ofcourse it still often goes wrong.. I didnt say you nat Jigga to diss Cam, but i think if he would have done it, you woulndt be frontin like this caus it`s him, and not for example Cam. Ofcourse i wouldn't. cause i ain't a cam fan. I don't even care about him so much. He made a couple of okay songs back in the day, his verse on late reg is pretty ait. But in overall, he pure trash. Right now he is hot garbage. BUT, if jay had dissed him, that wouldn't change the fact that I would consider jay making a stupid move. I was pretty skeptical about jay having a war concert, it seemed stupid. but than it was a peace concert. Him and Nas, on stage, encourageing rappers to end their beefs, so they can help the community to grow again, so they can help the eastcoast get back again. NOW... what do u prefer... peace.. or war? unity in the eastcoast (u as a wu-tang fan should appricate that) or everybody fighting... over NOTHING.
  22. They aint good rappers caus they dont have good flows, or rhymes. Cam has, cant fron on that. Thats why you could consider him a good mc, if you like his style. Cam'Ron has good rhymes? Come on.. be serious, please. He was okay back in the day. But all this dipset **** is just wack. his flow is ait, i can't front on that.
