You didnt think about the possoibility that he just snapped and that he really is sorry, that he realy is looking for help and that she really does love him?
The just snapped argument is bull****, Turn, if you have that little self control, you have big problems. That goes for any person who attacks anyone, not just domestic violence. The bigger person walks away if the argument becomes too heated. It's not justifiable to say "he/she pushed me too far", thats a pathetic excuse. It's like saying it's acceptable as long as you apologise after.
If Chris really is seeking help, I commend him for it, but until he can prove 100% it will never happen again, which will be extremely hard, Rihanna, in my opinion, should stay as far away from him as possible. The best help Chris can have is being a man and accepting the punishment for his actions. I'm sure she does still love him, love doesn't dissapear in the space of 2-3 weeks. But love is blind, and whilst she may still love him, at present, in my opinion, being together isn't whats best for either of them.
I'd say the same to every man/woman in the same situation.

Thats the cliche yeah, low self esteem is what it really is. Although its hard to beleive someone as attractive and as famous as Rihanna could have low self esteem. It happens to the best of people, and the abuser takes full advantage and makes the victim think it's all their fault they get abused. Every woman/man thats ever been a victim of domestic violence, need to know they are worth more.

And while her ex, Chris Brown, wasn’t on the guest list, the pop star couldn’t escape him completely.“Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday,” an insider tells us. “He’s absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he’s very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is.”

But Brown seems to think a few well-placed birthday gifts can salve his ex’s wounds. He has already sent the “Good Girl Gone Bad” singer a diamond bracelet and necklace, an insider tells us, as well as an iPod Touch. Plus, Brown’s mom, Joyce, who is said to adore Rihanna, sent over a bouquet of flowers.
Sound creepy? Unfortunately, the attention seems to be working. RiRi may just reconcile with Brown, say sources.
“Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can’t be together right now,” our insider says. “But it’s becoming more and more clear that she can’t be without him.”
For the time being, the singer’s friends are helping keep her free of her allegedly abusive ex. Friday’s party — held in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills — had a Monte Carlo-worthy casino theme, with professional croupiers brought in to deal for the pop princess and a few choice friends. “Her theme was ‘Blackjack 21’ and all the guests gambled,” says our snitch. “And although there was alcohol available, Rihanna wasn’t drinking.”
The gorgeous songbird had something to celebrate besides her B-day — she’s healing quickly from her recent injuries. “She hasn’t scarred or anything,” our insider reports. “She was in a great mood. She was really celebrating not just her birthday, but life in general.”
Following the intimate gathering, Rihanna hopped into a waiting car and jetted off to her native Barbados, where she finished out her birthday weekend with her mom.

All depends. If reports are true that he said "I'm going to kill you" whilst assaulting her and then fled leaving her unconscious. I could see how that could be seen as attempted murder. But this is why wee need the truth to come out.

Rihanna Issues Statement Through Reps
Pop star Rihanna has issued a statement thanking fans for their support after an alleged assault by her R&B singer boyfriend Chris Brown.However, she declined to comment on a leaked photograph which appears to show her with facial injuries.
"At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown," the star said via her spokesperson.
"She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong."
'Saddened'
Brown was questioned by police on 8 February over a complaint of assault.
Police said the 19-year-old got into an argument with an unidentified woman in a parked car in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, which escalated after they left the vehicle.
Both Brown and Rihanna pulled out of that night's Grammy awards, where they had been due to perform.
He has since said he was "sorry and saddened" by the incident and was seeking counselling.
Prosecutors have asked police to provide more information before deciding what charges, if any, to pursue against him.

On Friday, Rihanna's 21st birthday, a photograph was posted on a US gossip website which purported to show the Barbadian star in the hours after the incident with welts, scratches, bruises and swelling on her face.
After it appeared, the Los Angeles Police Department launched an internal investigation and asked for the public's help in finding the person who leaked it.
A police news release said the image "has the appearance" of one taken during a domestic violence investigation, and classified its release as a case of serious misconduct.
"The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence," it added.
Digitally manipulated images of Rihanna with facial injuries have appeared on the internet several times over the last couple of weeks.
In her statement, the singer - whose hits include Pon De Replay and Umbrella - said she was "doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time".
It's great to hear she's doing well, now we just need the full truth to come out.

Brown May Face Attempted Murder Charge
Chris Brown is being investigated for attempted murder in connection with his alleged attack on Rihanna.The Run It singer was originally arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats after the February 8 altercation that left his ex-girlfriend with contusions to her forehead, a bloody noise and a split lip.
Now it's emerged that the singer is being investigated for a variety of felonies, including domestic violence, assault resulting in great bodily injury and attempted murder.
The attempted murder probe is based on claims Rihanna made to police that Chris said, "I'm going to kill you," as he had his hands around her neck.
But, according to E! News - who cite sources close to the L.A. Police Department's investigation - it will be difficult to make any serious felony charges stick because there are no direct witnesses to the incident other than Rihanna and Chris.
Yesterday Rihanna's shocking injuries were made public when a shocking photograph purportedly taken shortly after the incident was posted online.

I don't think he was drunk. If he was drunk he's in even more trouble as theres a video on the net of them leaving the pre-Grammy's party, and he's driving. But I doubt he was under the influence, security there wouldn't have let him get in the car.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said Wednesday the office needed more information before deciding on whether to charge Brown.
Brown was arrested February 8 -- the day of the Grammy Awards, where he was scheduled to perform -- and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, the spokeswoman said.
Brown, who did not appear at the awards show, was released from jail that night on $50,000 bail and given a March 5 court date.
