Because it did.. Even the few good artists NOW aren't any better than the artists of yesteryear. And I certainly can't see how the industry in the 90's wasn't good. I think it goes way beyond people liking music from when they were younger. There's a new music I like in other genres better than old stuff from the genre. I can't can't image what educated person could like the watered down dance beats, subject-lacking, auto-tuned trash of today MORE than the music of the 90's and even the early 2000's. It's hard to imagine there's a taste for that. I just think people will like whatever gets played...it has nothing to do with quality or or relevance.
