  1. I'm really excited to check this out. Let's face the facts - music today really sucks. I log onto hotnewhiphop.com and its nothing but garbage. Once in a blue moon, I'll come across a hot new song but it's by a credible artist. I don't bother with unknown rappers who go by "Lil", "Yung" ...etc. The cool thing about Jeff and his mixtapes are that 1) There's no annoying DJ ad-lib every 30 seconds like what you'll see on datpiff.com "mixtapes" and 2) I discover "new" music by jumping in a time machine and listening to music 20-30-40 years ago. Whether its pop, disco, rap, new wave...etc its good music!

  2. I couldn't agree with you more AJ. I always get excited for a new LL track and when I saw the title of the album was "Authentic Hip-Hop", I get real excited. Ratchet goes right in the trash. This track really sucks. It's not even clever, it's stupid. LL says he's not trying to compete with an 18-year old going on their 2nd album but this song is quite the contrary. Horrible.

  3. What a legendary night! It's really remarkable Tim how your idea in 1996 to make a website dedicated to JJFP has taken off and just like the music brings people together, this site brings people from all across the world together! I'm so thankful I found this site back in 2002 as a young JJFP and now 10 years later I'm very, very proud to be a part of it..through the thick and thin news days. You're write-up of the evening made me feel like I was there and I cannot wait to check out the videos. The pictures are epic and it'd be even better if our other UK pal - Julie - was in the pic with you guys!

I love hearing new and insightful information about JJFP that I never knew before. That's why when I first met him at Fluid in Philly in 2009, I kinda rapid-fired a whole bunch of questions to him ...haha.. I just was so excited and now reading this post, I'm even more excited for the next time he comes around. It's always hard in AC to have a real convo with him because of the club scene is so loud and what not. I'd love to just sit with him and pick his mind about his career and music. Very intriguing.

BTW - I hate the movie business...haha. It's taken our favorite emcee away far too many times. I'm just glad Jeff has a strong online presence to connect with the diehards.
