  1. Julie - great video! I really enjoyed that. You completely summarized how JJFP makes me feel and the story about Shadow Dreams was fantastic.

Yah Kev, I'm sorry, I just haven't gotten around to it but this week, tomorrow hopefully it will be done. Between work, parties and hockey, I haven't had much time. It's been on my mind. The 16th is a great deadline. Thanks for being flexible.

  2. I just want to mention real quick, I also got some flack back in early HS (2002-04) about JJFP being my favorite hip-hop group. The flack ceased when Lost & Found dropped and "Switch" literally blew up iTunes and the radio. I realized during that time most "kids" don't know about the history of rap and all the greats artists, albums, songs...etc. Dialogue exchanged between a bunch of 15 year olds really doesn't have the background knowledge and ultimately is rather stupid. I was in HS when 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Jay-Z (Although I'm a huge Jay fan) were all blowing up, so this was really all of the "rap" people were familiar with. I'm unfortunately part of a generation that thinks 2pac and Biggie were the first rappers and greatest rappers of all-time. Very narrow-minded and not willing to even listen to older music without dismissing it.

Man I used to sit online and just discover music. My method of exploring hip-hop or music in general (pre-YouTube) was going on Wikipedia or Rockonthenet.com , reading the history and going to Amazon.com and listening to samples. Once 2005 ushered in the YouTube era, discovering music just becomes so much easier.

It's funny all these years later, I don't get any flack and people respect Will as a rapper. It just doesn't help when he hasn't released anything in 9 years....! lol

  3. Brakes are you trying to make us all look bad, sat on your posh sofa, rapping and saying exactly the right thing.

This video just says "Clean but still street...." LOL Brakes..that was outstanding. I really enjoyed that.

I will have mine done within a couple days. I like how everyone is going to talk about Code Red...that album just never gets enough love. It's such a masterpiece.

  4. Whoa! Talk about something from the archives - this was really cool. That album is just such a soulful album and is something I'll put on to mellow out to.

I wish ATOJ was still around - I remember Jeff's website from around that time and the pics of ATOJ looked amazing. I would've loved to tour it and watch magic happen.

    Thanks Tim!

  5. i think his exit thirteen album was his best i especially loved the single rocking with the goat, shame how it didn't get the respect it deserved

Rocking with the GOAT is what I consider a 2008 Mama Said Knock You Out.....it's just incredible energy and I love the cutting on that track. It motivates me to workout - especially the music video lol..

Exit 13 was an ehh album. It had some great songs like Old School, Time for War, Rocking with the GOAT. but then some real garbage like Heartbeat, We Rollin, American Girl..

Authentic is definitely one of my fav. LL albums by far.

  6. Wow - great point Vipa! I never would've thought about it like that.

I feel like I frustrate myself when I think about Will releasing something again. I just don't get it. I understand on the mainstream level it'd be difficult but on the other hand, nostalgia is powerful feeling. You don't need labels anymore, he could just release a track on twitter or something. He's had a lot of good opportunities to get back out there like MIB3 theme song, the tracks with Kanye West, doing a verse on Jeff's Summertime 3 mixtape...etc. He needs to brand himself/JJFP more online. When was the last time www.willsmith.com was open? He barely posts on his official page...I dont know, like I said, I drive myself crazy thinking about this lol
