  1. Will Smith has revealed that he and wife Jada Pinkett Smith plan to keep their 10th wedding anniversary celebrations simple.

The actor - who can currently be seen in I Am Legend - said the couple will probably just give each other a "high-five" to mark the occasion.

He said: "We're a very boring couple. We sit around more than we do anything. We've said we'll probably give each other a high-five slap on the butt and go to bed. It's going to be very simple. This is just the first 10 years is how we look at it."

He insisted that his wife had told him not to buy her any lavish presents for the New Year's Eve date, saying: "She had said, 'You know, we have us and we have a happy family, and... ' She's set me up, hasn't she?"

Smith recently claimed that he is not a "particularly talented" actor, putting his success down to hard work.

  2. Will Smith reveals 2008 tour plans

Will Smith has revealed that he is planning a return to performing music with a 2008 tour.

The Hollywood star confirmed that he would be restarting his pop career in the new year, but added that he had no plans to record new material.

Smith confirmed: "I probably won't create any new music but I will be on tour with my old music, not my old music, sorry - my classic songs - later next year."

The I Am Legend star hasn't recorded an album since 2005's Lost And Found LP.

His last UK single 'Party Starter' charted at number 19.

  3. I Am Legend star Will Smith exclusively tells MTV News he’ll play a gig in London next year……

    will_500.jpg

Everybody loves Will Smith. They must do – he’s just broken box office records with a film starring, well, pretty much just him, making him undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the world.

The Fresh Prince was in Leicester Square last night for the Premiere of his new film and the nice guy that he is signed autographs for over an hour, despite the cold!

But acting is of course just one string to the Smith bow, and when MTV News’ Rickie sat down for a chat with the big man before the London premiere of ‘I Am Legend’, he revealed that he hasn’t given up on music:

“I’ll probably just tour with the old material, but I’ll definitely have a concert here in June as that’s when my next film (Hancock) is coming out so I’ll connect the tour to the premieres”

  4. Will doesn't think Hitler was a good person. It's just the title someone wrote. Plus, where is the problem? I mean, let's check what Will said: "Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today’. I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good’. Stuff like that just needs reprogramming". Isn't that true?

Apart from this, just a little advice: don't believe everything you read, guys...

  5. Actor Will Smith has stunned the world by declaring that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler was a “good” person. The 39 year-old star, who likes to see the best in people, is convinced the former German leader did not fully understand the extent of the pain and suffering his actions would cause during his time in power.”Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today’. I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good’. Stuff like that just needs reprogramming,”he said. Hitler’s leadership as Fuhrer during the 1930s and early 1940s resulted in the persecution of an estimated six million Jews in the Holocaust, and later on led to the start of the Second World War.

  6. Will Smith brought his snarl and his Legend to London yesterday, once again a one-man show on the red carpet. He may be flying solo overseas, but he's not afraid to talk about how much he needs his wife. He recently told The Times of London, "Every day I need my woman to look at me right; I need Jada to have that look in her eyes. I can’t function if I don’t see it, whether it’s with my movies, or me as a father, or me as a husband. I have to educate myself to get to the place where I’m the best on Earth. . . . Then, and only then, can I be sure that my woman will never leave me.” Well that all sounds a bit intense, but at least Will knows what he wants. And at least we know that Jada's got a girlfriend to confide in about being married to such an interesting man.

  7. Will Smith wasn't home to celebrate I Am Legend breaking box office records this weekend, but I'm sure he managed to have a great time in Paris promoting the movie. As if he doesn't have enough reason to smile, his Legend director, Francis Lawrence, is more than willing to boost Will's ego. He said, "He's one of the only people that I can truly say kind of has all of that. He's funny, he's charming, he's smart, he's handsome, he's happy, he's got a great marriage, he's a great father, he's great at what he does, he's happy at what he does. It's sort of disgusting. So if anybody would be the last man standing, it's Will." Plus, he's obviously still a box office titan, and we're already getting a taste for his next picture. Buzz has the teaser trailer for Hancock which is a little cringe-inducing (but just a little), but with Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman and Will, I have faith it will be a lot of fun.

:emot-keke:

  10. In his latest film, Will Smith tries to save mankind

    By DAVID GERMAIN, Associated Press

Will Smith stars in the new film, "I Am Legend," based on Richard Matheson's 1954 book of the same name, which previously was filmed as Vincent Price's "The Last Man on Earth" and Charlton Heston's "The Omega Man."

LOS ANGELES -- Will Smith already has it all: the picture-perfect family, a film career that blends commercial hits with artistic acclaim, the occasional foray into music, where he scored his first success.

Now Smith even gets to outlive us all.

In his latest film, "I Am Legend," one of Hollywood's most consistent box-office draws plays the man who may be the sole human survivor of a global plague. The 39-year-old's golden touch would be vexing, if he weren't such a nice guy.

"Until I met him, I've always believed that there are balances in people. That you really can't be smart, handsome, charismatic, happy. You can't be all of that," said "Legend" director Francis Lawrence.

"He's one of the only people that I can truly say kind of has all of that. He's funny, he's charming, he's smart, he's handsome, he's happy, he's got a great marriage, he's a great father, he's great at what he does, he's happy at what he does. It's sort of disgusting. So if anybody would be the last man standing, it's Will."

How lucky is he? Here's how the past year has gone for Smith, who made the leap to the big screen after rising to TV stardom with "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air."

After a string of hits such as the romance "Hitch," the cartoon comedy "Shark Tale" and the sci-fi saga "I, Robot," Smith put out last December's smaller, riskier "The Pursuit of Happyness," the story of a struggling single dad who ends up homeless along with his young son.

Not necessarily the feel-good film of the holiday season, and topping things off, the boy was played by Jaden Smith, his 9-year-old son with actress Jada Pinkett Smith.

That could have spelled dreary ego project, but the film caught on with audiences, becoming Smith's latest $100 million smash and earning him his second Academy Award nomination as best actor, following a previous honor for the title role in 2001's "Ali."

Now he's back with an apocalyptic tale for the holidays, when people generally have things on their minds other than the end of mankind. If anyone can turn "I Am Legend" into a hit, though, it has to be Smith.

Oh, and he gets to work with one of his kids again. This time, it was take-Will's-daughter-to-work day, with his and Pinkett Smith's 7-year-old girl, Willow Smith, playing his daughter in flashback scenes.

With mom and dad in show business, the children seem to have acting bred in the bone, Smith said.

"Jaden always likes the scripts for some reason. He likes having scripts read to him. He likes the idea of maybe the shorter pages of reading than actually a book," Smith told the Associated Press in an interview. "So he from 4 years old has always said, 'Acting's easy. I don't know why it's such a big deal. What you do, Daddy, I can do that easy.'

"He looks at the 'Fresh Prince' and he's like, 'That's not even good acting, Daddy.' "

Jaden and Willow already have very different acting approaches, Smith said. His son is an emotional sponge, absorbing the moods of those around him, reacting with authentic, visceral feeling to others, even in make-believe acting situations.

On the other hand, Willow is Teflon, taking things in and making conscious choices over how to react in her performance, Smith said.

Smith's own style comes closer to his son's.

"I need everyone to be in a good mood in order to be able to perform well," Smith said. "I need the set to be comfortable. I need the emotion or the mood of the set to lend itself to the mood of the scene. Those types of things are a real necessity for me."

"I Am Legend" is the third adaptation of Richard Matheson's 1954 book of the same name, which previously was filmed as Vincent Price's "The Last Man on Earth" and Charlton Heston's "The Omega Man."

This version has Smith alone with a dog for much of the movie, scrounging supplies in New York City and trying to find a cure for a disease that has wiped out most of humanity and turned the rest into ravenous, vampire-like creatures.

Besides the dog, Smith interacts mainly with mannequins for the first hour, so the role required someone with huge charisma to hold audiences' attention.

Smith's infectious personality turns movie sets often overloaded with egos and prima donnas into truly pleasant workplaces, colleagues say.

"Will comes in every day as if it is his job to be generous. It's so extraordinary. It engenders this work environment where you feel safe and you get to play around. There's nothing worse than a movie set where there are eggshells on the floor," said Akiva Goldsman, whose credits include the screenplays for "I Am Legend," "I, Robot" and next summer's "Hancock," in which Smith plays an alcoholic superhero opposite Charlize Theron.

For Smith, work choices come down to stories and filmmakers.

"It's all material and team. It's that simple," Smith said. "My experience has been that a lot of actors start with a good role that they would want to play. I never start with the role. I start with, is this a movie that people would want to see?"

  12. Will Smith continued his worldwide tour promoting I Am Legend in Madrid today. He didn't have his BFF Tom or his family by his side this time around, but it looks like he was perfectly happy to represent the film all by himself. Judging by all the photos we've seen of super animated Will, you'd think the man never has a bad day but Buzz wasn't loving the film as much as its star was — check out her review here. We'll just have to see if the box office numbers will be enough to keep Will smiling into next week.

  13. Will Smith apologises to NY citizens

    14 Dec 2007

    happysc7.png

Actor Will Smith offered an apology to the citizens of New York for the inconvenience he caused to them on the streets of Manhattan while shooting his new film ‘I Am Legend.’

As the film was being made, many streets and Brooklyn Bridge were blocked in the city for periods between Oct 2006 and April 2007, which resulted in chaos.

When the actor returned to the city for New York premiere on Dec 11, he took the opportunity to say sorry for the disruption he caused to the citizens. “I would like to issue a public apology to the citizens of New York.

There were a couple of streets we had to close off during the filming of I Am Legend,” Contactmusic quoted Smith, as saying. “I am very sorry. People were kind of upset with me,” he added.
