'SHARK' A-FLACK AT CANNES FEST
By LOU LUMENICK

Angelina Jolie & Will Smith

May 15, 2004 -- CANNES - Before Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black rode off on an inflatable shark yesterday, they had a salty exchange on dry land.
"I'll ask the real question here," Smith said, turning to Jolie at a Q&A session for their animated film, "Shark Tale," a mob spoof set entirely among fish.
"Have you slept with any of your co-stars? Spit it out, lady."
A nonplussed Jeffrey Katzenberg, the DreamWorks CEO and session moderator, tried to change the subject. "Next question!" he yelled.
It was day three of the Cannes Film Festival, and the big event was a press conference for a film that's not showing here at all. In fact, it's not even finished.
But DreamWorks couldn't resist the chance to promote the October release before a captive audience of international media.
Fortunately for those gathered, Jolie couldn't resist having a little fun with Smith's question.
"I absolutely haven't done it with either of you guys," she said, laughing, about Smith and Black, who, like Jolie, provide the voices for the fish in the animated film.
Smith was alluding, of course, to tabloid speculation that Jolie had had an affair with Brad Pitt, with whom she stars in the forthcoming "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
Pitt, who jetted out of the film festival Thursday for Japan with wife Jennifer Aniston after the world premiere of "Troy," has denied the rumors.
To the paparazzi's obvious disappointment, the shapely Jolie wore a lifejacket over a modest top and jeans, instead of stripping down to a bikini.
But before they rode off into the harbor, Smith couldn't help being naughty.
"When I first saw Angelina as a fish," he quipped "I started eating sushi." The audience roared as the actress blushed.
Jolie said she was surprised when she saw the fishy version of herself.
"When I first saw the footage, I said, 'I don't bat my eyes that way,' and they showed me footage they made during the recording sessions showing me doing exactly that. It's kind of embarrassing."
Jolie said she wanted to do the movie "because I watched 'Shrek' about 60 times with my son."
"I'm not as good at playing around with the script as these guys are," she said of her co-stars, "so it was confusing, but a lot of fun."
Both Smith and Black seemed to have fun toying with the press.
"I like that nakedness is more of a public thing here," Smith said, referring to the French resort's penchant for topless beaches.
Added the pudgy Black, "I heard the paparazzi here are really aggressive. I forgot about that and went out on the balcony of my hotel undressed.
"But they didn't take my picture. I guess my nude body doesn't fetch the same high price as some other celebrities' here."
Jolie will be gone by the time her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton arrives for an out-of-competition showing of "Bad Santa" at the festival on Wednesday.
When an Australian journalist asked her which celebrity she'd like to spend time with in hot tub, Katzenberg brought the session to a close. -
EMINEM IS THE TOP RAPPER OUT NOW NEXT TO 50 CENT AND NAS , I THINK HE IS EXTREMLEY FUNNY AND HE CAN FREESTSYLE YOUR PANTS OFF PROBABLY THE BEST FREESTYLEST OUT NOW
you know the good life cafe in LA was where a lot of rappers used to go and spit.. some of the artists to come out of there were aceyalone, freestyle fellowship, blackalicious jurassic 5 etc.. this is wheree eazy E took bone thugs n harmoney..and they subsequently stole a lot of those rappers style..anyway anyone could get up on a mic there.. and eminem went there and got totally torn up.. he wouldnt come close to any of the project blowed artists.. (www.projectblowed.com) a lot of styles were created back then..and they were the only people freestylin back then..this is all in the early 90s.. in fact this style all the southern rappers use is actually bitten from this LA artist called busdriver.. anyway my point is a lot of people would rip eminem up in a battle or freestyle.. -

My rap gets you deep down inside of your soul
I’m here to offer nourishment to make you seem whole
Sustenance to replace the nothingness that you hold
Encouragement in running with my role
Enlighten your short sightin is the ultimate goal
But I’m treading uphill you ain’t picking up skill
Even though I’m running this drill
Your run of the mill
And running on empty and still
Bottom of the barrel
And like cheap apparel
I’m watching you unravel
Making less sense than Perry Farrell
While my spits hittin harder than a judges gavel
I can see you’re clearly trying to ignore my obvious state of advancement
But punk you’re chance went
You’re stance weak
You can’t speak
Retreat
From the inevitable defeat
Stuttering you obviously a glutton
For punishment something clearly went
Wrong son like 50 cent..off on a horrible bent
But no need to vent your times been spent
And frankly it was a waste
Your raps off base with an obvious lack of taste
Today has seen the end of your rhyming days
So Allay the fears parlay my cheers
While your tears stay
On this forum for all ya peers
They can see you were simply all at sea
Watch everyone vote for me -
Heavy D. Signs Unique Deal With Bad Boy, Preparing New Album
By Dove and Nolan Strong
Date: 5/12/2004 5:50 PM
Heavy D set the mic aside for acting, but now the veteran emcee is returning to the game and has signed with Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy label.
In a ground breaking deal, the Mount Vernon bred rapper/actor will receive 100 percent of the profits from his Bad Boy release, after the label recoups costs for producing the yet-to-be titled album, his first since 1999's Heavy.
"Puff and I been friends forever, were family," Heavy D. told AllHipHop.com. "He gave me the most incredible deal. We had talks about it over the years. Honestly, I have never heard of a deal like this."
Heavy said that he felt the timing in the rap industry was right for him to come back out. "The kind of music that I'm doing is gonna fit. I'm in a space where I'm doing Hip-Hop, but it's sexy."
"The Birthday Song" is already picking up steam after being leaked to various radio stations across the United States. The album is still in production and Heavy has enlisted the production talents of Puff, Warren Campbell, Mike City and Tony Dofat.
Meanwhile, Heavy will continue to hone his acting skills and shed 160 pounds in order to increase the diversity of roles he can play.
"It was time on the acting side," Heavy said. "I can't limit myself to one kind of role if I want to be taken serious in other genres of acting."
And how did he manage to lose such a staggering amount of weight?
"I did it the old fashioned way, working out twice a week, boxing, doing cardio, monitoring what I eat. I wasn't on a crash diet and I did it right."
And acting is something that Heavy, who has a recurring role on "The Tracy Morgan Show," said he would continue to pursue in addition to his first career as a rapper.
"Puff and I are talking about doing a sitcom together. There's a couple of scripts that Dame Dash is interested in casting me in. I also have a cameo appearance in Will Smith's new movie, 'The Last First Kiss' so things are good."
The untitled album is tentatively scheduled for a Fall release date -
