Guess Who

Turntable

Recommended Posts

I guess ya'll know how it works. Somebody posts a verse, and the rest has to guess from which mc it is. If you guess right, it's you'r turn (dont google). If it's not figured out in about 1, 2 day's, another person gets a turn.

I'll start:

Visualizin the realism of life and actuality

**** who's the baddest a person's status depends on salary

And my mentality is, money orientated

I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it

cause yeah, we were beginners in the hood as five percenters

But somethin must of got in us cause all of us turned to sinners

Now some, restin in peace and some are sittin in San Quentin

Others such as myself are tryin to carry on tradition

Keepin the schwepervesence street ghetto essence inside us

Cause it provides us with the proper insight to guide us

Even though, we know somehow we all gotta go

but as long as we leavin thievin we'll be leavin with some kind of dough

so, and to that day we expire and turn to vapors

me and my capers-ll be somewhere stackin plenty papers

Keepin it real, packin steel, gettin high

Cause life's a bitch and then you die

From a classik cut you all know.

Life's a Bitch - Nas

we should add some general hints like

-verse of the song

-the "number" album from that artist

-general year reference.

(((this is the fourth verse from the song. from the second cd from the rappers albums. mid nineties)))

Got stopped at the mall the other day

Heard a call from the other way

that I just came from, some nigga was sayin somethin

talkin bout "Hey man, you remember me from school?" smoke some, naw not really

but he kept smilin like a clown facial expression lookin silly

And he kept askin me, what kind of car you drive, I know you paid

I know y'all got buku of hoes from all them songs that y'all done made

And I replied that I had been goin through tha same thing that he had

True I got more fans than the average man but not enough loot to last me

to the end of the week, I live by the beat like you live check to check

If you don't move yo' feet then I don't eat, so we like neck to neck

Yes we done come a long way like them Slim ass cigarettes

from Virginia, this ain't gon stop so we just gonna continue

this is madd difficult Turn

What? I recognized that verse from like the very first line!!!And so should every other hip hop fan.

And Mike gave us Outkast - Elevators?

2000, something...1'st verse...rappers first album....legendary producer

I'm the verbal-spit Smith Wesson

I unload with sick spit the quick wick could split a split-second

Bomb with a lit wick expression

You here a tick tick then you testin..

My saliva and spit can split thread into fiber and bits

So trust me, I'm as live as it gets

Everybody claimin they the best and head the throne

Since B.I.G is gone, if you ask me, they +Dead Wrong+

My flow is hotter than the flash from the click

When the hammer slaps the bullet on the ass from the clip

You wind up in a room full of my dawgs

I'll have you feeling like a fire hydrant in a room full of dogs

So come, come now, get pissed on, ****ted on

Tough talk turns to, "Can't we all just get along"

You get blazed when the mic's off, shot when it's on

You probably ducked when they laid the gun shot in your song

My gun strrr-utters when it speaks to you

Utter **** to repeat to you

Nothing the clip, then give a speech to you

Me and Premier, we kind of the same in ways

We both speak with our hands in dangerous ways

Rap now is a circus of clowns

A whole lot of lip from cliques I'd probably rap circles around

I'm the next best to reach a peak formerly known

as the best keep secret, I guess that I just leaked it

Royce Da 5'9" - Boom - Always liked that track alot, never looked into much of dudes other material.

Heres one for ya:

Yo! It's been instilled in me since infinite y'all

Usin these minutes like I value the call

Put your money in the bank, and hold rank

over friends who ain't got leadership skills

I got the sheep in my eyes so I can't sleep

We like the, land and laid, the brand old way

Grand operate the scandal way, L.I. sheist

I play the X-Box instead of ****ing with dice

I hate losin to those who walk away with my dough

cause I dozed, Tracy broke me

And now she wanna see the resident provoking me

to pop wheelies on my bicycle, watch her eyes twinkle

One house, two houses, third house

House rules so house take bank, watch Dave bank

Banner had 'em on the hawk since Atlanta extravaganza

Gamma ray rap I make the Hulk snap

Jump back like James Brown, hey now

When the liquor over we smoking the hay now

Delegating numero dos, I holla out the sound of los

And keep the Island close to me

By the way cool thread bro!

@ Bart: De La Soul-Much More?

second verse. very respected rapper from the south, worked with everybody from t.i. and beyonce till dj premier and jigga.

First of all the projects is ****ed up and it ain’t jus with the drugs

we got more problems than the dealers and thugs.

They usein lead base paint and asbestos is killin us

we tell them to fix it up but jus aint feelin us.

They’d rather kick us out and tear it down to the ground,

so they can put up a parking lot a mall or some condos.

Condemn the whole place cuz a few sell crack **** the rest aint do nothing wrong

what the ****s up with that? They say that one rotten apple can spoil the whole bunch

but we talkin bout some people not apples this aint lunch.

Make me wanna punch a politician dead in his face.

You say you represent my district, get yo ass on the case.

“Development is good for the hood,” yea that’s what you tellin us

but bitch you on the payroll of the builders and developers.

**** what you seellin us pipe dreams fa suckers

you can take that round the corner to them other mother****ers

Nice one Turn!!!

Ok this might be kinda hard...

um...2000ish...rap duos first album...underground classic...first verse

"Give me the fortune, keep the fame," said my man Louis

I agreed, know what he mean because we live the truest lie

I asked him why we follow the law of the bluest eye

He looked at me, he thought about it

Was like, "I'm clueless, why?"

The question was rhetorical, the answer is horrible

Our morals are out of place and got our lives full of sorrow

And so tomorrow comin later than usual

Waitin' on someone to pity us

While we findin beauty in the hideous

They say money's the root of all evil but I can't tell

YouknowhatImean, pesos, francs, yens, cowrie shells, dollar bills

Or is it the mindstate that's ill?

Creating crime rates to fill the new prisons they build

Over money and religion there's more blood to spill

The wounds of slaves in cotton fields that never heal

What's the deal?

A lot of cats who buy records are straight broke

But my language universal they be recitin my quotes

While R&B singers hit bad notes, we rock the boat

of thought, that my man Louis' statements just provoked

Caught up, in conversations of our personal worth

Brought up, through endangered species status on the planet Earth

Survival tactics means, bustin gats to prove you hard

Your firearms are too short to box with God

Without faith, all of that is illusionary

Raise my son, no vindication of manhood necessary

BLACKSTAR - thieves in the night

totally got that right away hahaha

hip hop legend's newest cd. first verse on the song.

Sent you a message, sent you an email

Hasty decisions we may still prevail

Both needed breaks, we both needed to bail

Walking thru the corridors of my mind

The hideaways and nooks, and things with good times

Memories certainly yes they still bind

Still a common man and yeah that's for sure

Still a bankroll and yeah still couture

But man this thing we had was much more

Come back home, don't be out in the world

It's a rat race and no place for a girl

Amongst the scavengers, have found a pretty pearl

It's for the faint of heart who never get enough

Gotta get tough, buckle em up, we calling guts

And we, and we and we ahhh

i was going to do an aesop rock song but i figured nobody would know it. this one should be decently easy.

clipse?

Lol! For future reference to identify a Clipse verse, look for at least one reference to dealing cocaine...

Q-Tip - Gettin' up

the album in an almost undisputed rap classic...2nd verse...early nineties

It's been twenty-two long hard years of still strugglin

Survival got me buggin, but I'm alive on arrival

I peep at the shape of the streets

And stay awake to the ways of the world cause **** is deep

A man with a dream with plans to make Cream

Which failed; I went to jail at the age of 15

A young buck sellin drugs and such who never had much

Trying to get a clutch at what I could not... could not...

The court played me short, now I face incarceration

Pacin -- going up state's my destination

Handcuffed in back of a bus, forty of us

Life as a shorty shouldn't be so ruff

But as the world turns I learned life is hell

Living in the world no different from a cell

Everyday I escape from Jakes givin chase, sellin base

Smokin bones in the staircase

Though I don't know why I chose to smoke sess

I guess that's the time when I'm not depressed

But I'm still depressed, and I ask what's it worth?

Ready to give up so I seek the Old Earth

Who explained working hard may help you maintain

to learn to overcome the heartaches and pain

We got stickup kids, corrupt cops, and crack rocks

and stray shots, all on the block that stays hot

Leave it up to me while I be living proof

To kick the truth to the young black youth

But shorty's running wild smokin sess drinkin beer

And ain't trying to hear what I'm kickin in his ear

Neglected, but now, but yo, it gots to be accepted

That what? That life is hectic
