Dubai clearly has a new admirer – with Will Smith stopping by the emirate for the second time in less than a month. The Hollywood superstar made a surprise appearance at VIP Room on Thursday night (February 30). Hosting a table near the stage, Smith grabbed the mic midway through headline guest Wyclef Jean's performance, beatboxing from the wings before breaking out into a freestyle rap. Members of Smith’s entourage were also spotted at the gig, and Jean announced he was hosting an after-party in his hotel room – with Smith clearly invited. A day earlier Smith was spotted boarding a flight from Los Angeles to Dubai, with celebrity sons Jaden and Trey in turn. It’s the second time the 45-year-old has visited these parts in recent weeks. The Fresh Prince pulled a similar stunt on New Year’s Eve, leaping on the mic at Barasti midway through his former sparring partner Jazzy Jeff’s DJ set. In the second episode of Vinyl Destination, Season 2, DJ Jazzy Jeff and his crew make rounds on the West Coast. Their first stop is San Francisco, and the name of the game is gadgets. Jimmy Fallon has settled on Will Smith and U2 as the guests for his Feb. 17 debut on ‘The Tonight Show.” Fallon was low-key and looked a little tired Sunday as he discussed plans for the regime change at the latenight institution. He’s been in regular contact with his predecessor Jay Leno, who gave him an important piece of advice. “He said ‘You have to make your monologue longer,’ ” Fallon said. On “Late Night” Fallon’s monologues have been running three to four minutes; Leno’s run about nine to 10. Leno impressed upon Fallon the importance to covering a good slice of the day’s big news. Fallon said he intends to continue to do the taped skits and bits that have been a highlight of his five-year tenure on “Late Night.” Moving the show back to New York was a priority for him, but he said he intends to travel to Los Angeles at least twice a year.
