  1. I don't think it would be good 2 put them out there in a big way. If he was 2 ever release old unreleased stuff, i think it should only be done exclusively for fans. We live in a age where pretty much anything can be released (even tho' most things never released never see the light of day). I don't think any of us want JJ+FP's image tarnished by tracks being released that they never felt were good enough to release. It would just water down their legacy. Look at 2Pac. He is one of Hip-Hop's greatests. However, they are slowly releasing EVERYTHING. He recorded so many songs while on Deathrow cuz he wanted 2 fulfill his album contract and get off the label. Much of the stuff that he recorded in 1996 is sloppy freestyles with weak subject matter and little focus. Any true 2Pac fan will tell u that alot of the stuff on his doctored albums is no where near the level of standard that he would hold. 2 make things worse, they doctor those songs with idiotic guest appearances and new, crappy production. It's tarnishing 2Pac's legacy. FP has been very open about how he doesn't let just anyone be around him while he's creating music and how he doesn't let just anyone hear what he's recorded. He has talked about not letting people hear his "weak stuff."

I'm all for unreleased stuff being released properly, but not just releasing everything reqardless of the quality. We as big fans would probably appriciate most of it anyway, but it shouldn't be released as if it were his best and available to everyone.

    Nice post, man!

    I fully agree u!

But do we have any chance of gettin' a new album with unreleased tracks?

  2. He's not saying Soulja Boy is Fresh Prince 2008. Just that JJFP and Rakim have different sounds. He said nothing about good or bad. He didn't rank anybody...

JJFP sounded one way, Rakim sounded another. They both were releasing music at the same time...But Both were still respected. Today, Soulja Boy sounds different from Jay Z. That variety still exists. Different sounds are still alive in Hip Hop. There is this, and then there is that.

I don't agree with the part that you HAVE to respect or like Soulja Boy's music, but I get his point. He should have made it clearer, though.

    Yes, somethin' like that.

I think that's what Jay wanted to say or what he actually meant.

    Nice explanation!

  3. People, if you are to allow this analogy to hold, you allow soulja boy to sit in the same 'space' in 2008 that FP held in the early 90's.

I don't like the analogy...especially with "Superman that ho" and the very incoherent lyrics from Soulja Boy. When did FP go that route...or even close?

I think he means that JJFP where more for kids like Soulja is right now..i hope he meant that...if not..then f*ck Jay :)

Yeah, I think he meant something like that!

Maybe he just meant the type - the funny beats and stuff. But JJFP were never that bad and strange with the lyrics like SouljaBoy. SouljaBoy is only sayin' the same thing over and over again like "superman, superman hooooo, souljaboy yeeaahhhh" and whatever he says... JJFP have some nice lyrics where they're talkin' about the truth only in a lil' funny way for everybody to listen - also kids!

  4. i definitly have to say Lost and Found, i can't stop listening to it. But i haven't been able to listen to Coming to the stage, Chosen one, or We Won't yet so they could be better. But i have to say that Mr. Niceguy is a close second, its just sick.

"Why should i try to sound like you all sound?"

Yeah the other tracks u just mentioned are great, too!

But I'm pretty sure u won't like them more than L&F!

  5. Yeah, were hoping for an album and a tour. i'm not starting to believe what he says about music to the press.. but when he talks to his fans he says he's not giving up on music. i think we'll defo, her something soon i hope!

And Welcome to the Boards Rams!

Yeah, I think Will won't lie to his fans!

The only question about his music is, when will it happen?

  6. to tell you the truth, I'm almost positive that every rapper uses co-writters here and there and more use ghostwriters more than you think. I actually met one guy that used to ghost write for T.I. But I hope Will doesn't use ghostwriters

I really don't think he does!

If, then only co-writers like it's already been said here. ;)

  7. I've been looking for this song for years and Years I finally found the verse on youtube. May have been posted before but I'm not sure. But does anyone know where I can get the full track?

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=4E29-0_ZH4A

Sean Paul goes first and I've heard that. then Will Goes and I really like it. since it's my first time hearing it, It's brand new to me and It just made me feel like will is back haha guess I'm a lil late.

    Exactly man!!!

I know this track for so long but I can't find it anywhere, either.

I'm lookin' for the whole track for ages...

Maybe it's just a unfinished song?

Maybe they wanted to make it, started it but didn't finish it up?

  8. He didn't compare them talent wise....He didn't say Soulja Boy is on the same level. He's basically saying that Hip Hop has always had different things, and variety. It never said JJFP wasn't good, just that they are different from Rakim, and both existed at and around the same time.

At least that's how I interpreted it. I don't see this as anything to get upset over.

    I agree here!

I don't think Jay meant it in a bad way...

  9. Does anybody if/when Will Smith wil release and new studio album? its been 3yrs and i hope he does

Right now it doesn't seem this way...

We hope he's gonna bring out another album, soon...!

Welcome and have fun here!

  10. i just voted for our boy kel spence, man he really deserves it, there arent a lot of true MCs paying love for the music and especially for his fans.

we're here to back you kel, and i mean any time!

lets go and vote and make it happen! we need some real MCs out there, period!

    Yeah, exactly!

I agree u, I think this video of him is so cool! :)

  11. Thats stupid..i wouldnt shut up neither...if i wre a hip hop legend, a pioneer, and i see young cats ruinin what i helped to build and what i love

Yeah but if they wanna say something then please in a polite way!

If they wanna criticize him then they shall do it but not that rude!

I mean that just shows that ur not any better than them because ur cursing around and stuff like that.

Ahahaha, that's right, the folks behind Cop Killer and Protect Ya Neck aren't being polite! Heavens nos!

I mean it seriously - you don't go and just say somethin' like "He is fu**ed up! I don't like him cuz his music is just bullsh*t, he should eat a di**!"

U gotta say why his music is bad and if it's possible in a normal way and not just fu** here, sh*t there...
