  1. I know, i know. But u know me...always the positive thinker. I rather be disappointed then live my life thinking critical and negative. Since MTV doesn't do their job, isn't it time for a new network to be created where they play music videos most of the day...all genres, all levels of success, all eras, live performances, etc?

A network that is actually for the people that actually plays real music? That's like a government who actually works for the people. The job of MTV is to keep young people fascinated by the garbage it plays.

  2. I didn't watch the VMAs and haven't watched them in years(I think the last VMA I watched was when Chris Rock hosted). I heard Russell Brand's "joke" about the Jonas Brothers and although I'm not a fan of theirs(hell, I don't even know one song they've made) I was offended by Brand's joke making light of the Jonas Bros. commitment to purity. It was in poor taste and a knock at people who choose to remain virgins until marriage.

I applaud the Jonas Bros. for their faith & I applaud Jordin Sparks for sticking up for them.

BTW AJ, MTV has been dead for at least 7-10 years!!

  3. Updated Numbers 9.8.08:

According to The-Numbers.com Hancock notched another milestone over the weekend. With its international run not yet finished, Hancock passed both Men In Black($589.4 million) and I Am Legend($584.0 million) to become Will Smith's 2nd biggest movie of his career. It looks as though Hancock could finish at $600 million putting it at #41 on the all-time worldwide list. Only 1996's Independence Day($817.0 million) has made more money than any of Smith's movies.

    Total US Gross $227,946,274

    International Gross $362,600,000

    Worldwide Gross $590,546,274

Will Smith's Worldwide Box-Office List(worldwide rank in parenthesis):

    1. Independence Day(1996) $817.0 million(#19)

    2. Hancock(2008) $590.5 million(#43)

    3. Men In Black(1997) $589.4 million(#44)

    4. I Am Legend(2007) $584.0 million(#45)

    5. Men In Black II(2002) $441.8 million(#85)

    6. Hitch(2005) $368.1 million(#122)

    7. Sharktale(2004) $367.3 million(#123)

    8. I, Robot(2004) $347.2 million(#148)

    9. The P.O.H.(2006) $307.1 million(#180)

    10. Bad Boys 2(2003) $273.3 million(#223)

    11. Enemy Of The State(1998) $250.6 million(#253)

    12. Wild Wild West(1999) $222.1 million(#302)

  4. Comedian Dave Chappelle once joked that men don't buy nice cars because they like nice cars. They buy nice cars because they know women like nice cars. It's simple Big Sis; your son is trying to get his mack on. If he could go his entire life without deodorant he would. He's at that age now where his appearance is beginning to be important to him. He's noticing girls(and they're probably noticing him too) and he's at that age when he wants to make a good impression. In short, he's a young mack-in-training.

  5. She makes it seem like Will had her blacklisted out of Hollywood. Will didn't even have that type of pull back in the day to do something like that. He could today but back in '92, no way.

She really needs to get over this for real. It's making her look like a sore loser. Nobody else on the show from the actors to the directors & producers ever took her side.

  6. I was hoping that he would choose Bill Richardson or Kathleen Sebulius but I'll take Joe Biden. Biden can do the dirty work that critics say that Barack hasn't done yet. Biden is a bulldog and can hit back at McCain while Barack continues on his message of change.

While they seem like an odd couple, history says that this happened before. JFK didn't like Lyndon Johnson but picked him because LBJ helped round out JFK's youthful, inexperienced image. Ronald Reagan wasn't the best of friends with George H.W. Bush but pick him as his running mate even after Bush 41 referred to Reagan's economic plan as "voodoo economics." Clinton didn't really like Al Gore but the two came together to serve two terms.

  7. Yea, I think we should just go on as an 8 team league if that's cool with everyone. Once rcp signs up we'll have 8 teams...

Draft is tomorrow at 5 PST, 8 EST.

Edit: By the way, anyone want any changes to the scoring?

Yeah Passing TDs should be 6 points since it's 6 points in real life.

  8. This one is really good too Kev, why dont u join us?

Cos my knowledge of the NFL is shockingly bad. lol

hasn't stopped me signing up! come on it will be fun..and we can embarass the americans!

Embarass the Americans, huh Tim. Ok. Let's have some fun with this. LOL.

  9. As a fellow Chicagoan, I am saddened by the loss of Bernie Mac. He was too young to go and I will truly miss him. He was one of those comedians who did it with raw honesty. He, along with fellow South Sider, the late Robin Harris, represented Chicago with style and substance.

    R.I.P. Bernie Mac

  10. Ferrell is funny enough playing an overgrown man child (see 95% of his movies) but lacks sophistication...so a lot of his stuff is really funny, but lacks any depth.

But there's a completely different story with most of Apatow's productions...there's depth and subtlety, and at times unnerving realism mixed in with the hilarity. If you've ever seen an episode of the Apatow directed TV Show "Freaks and Geeks", you will know exactly what I'm talking about...

    Btw...Step brothers is quite funny...

You are 100% correct Ash Trey. I also think Will Ferrell needs to be in a comedy with other comedian-type actors. Because he's basically playing the same character(the bumbling idiot guy) you need to have other guys(Vince Vaughn, Steve Carrell, etc.) around him to add any type of substance to the movie.

With Judd Apatow, there is so much social commentary underneath all of the funny stuff when you see an Apatow production. His movies are not crude just for the sake of being crude. They actually have depth and heart in them. That's what made Forgetting Sarah Marshall so funny to me. I don't think I laughed as hard at a comedy before.

  11. Ferrell unfunny? well, theres an opinnion...

I gotta agree with you Visqo. I don't like all of Ferrell's movies(Elf seems to come to mind) but most of them are hilarious. Old School, Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Wedding Crashers are funny as hell. I do want to see Step Brothers but I'll probably wait for it to come to DVD. The whole Judd Apatow family tree of movies are hilarious.

Apatow produced Anchorman, Talledega Nights and Old School. He's also responsible for The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up & my personal favorite right now, Superbad.
