NEW DELHI (AP) - Hollywood actor Will Smith says India is so rich with stories that he felt at home during his visit to the South Asian country. Smith, a best-actor Oscar nominee for 2001's Ali, last week launched Sony Entertainment's English-language movie channel, Pix, and was a guest on Indian Idol, the country's version of American Idol. "The walls and streets here are alive with history. And I am a storyteller ... and story lover," he told The Times of India newspaper in an interview that appeared in Monday's editions. "India is so rich with stories that I feel at home," he said. It was the 37-year-old actor's first trip to India. Smith also attended a party at the home of a top Indian film actor, Shah Rukh Khan, where the two discussed the Indian cinema and the star system.   3. Hollywood star Will Smith's desire to meet Aishwarya Rai was fulfilled when the two met at a suburban hotel on Saturday evening. Smith who played host, had organised a grand welcome for Bollywood's truly global actor. He offered her the lead role in his next film. Smith had wanted Ash in his film Hitch, but she was busy with Bride and Prejudice and could not allot dates for his film. But the media reported that Gowariker missed his meeting with the Hollywood actor because of his prior commitment. He expressed his regrets and reportedly stated, “ I’d have loved to meet him. I believe he was keen to know about our film industry.” But filmmaker Karan Johar had the privilege of spending some time with Smith.He is reported to have said, “It was a good, productive meeting. He is entertaining and well informed. Jha, Mumbai: Hollywood actor Will Smith had a ball on Sony's popular music contest "Indian Idol" and good-humouredly sang a Hindi film song along with a contestant. While recording it, one of the contestants Karunya asked Will to sing a Hindi song. "Oh I can't do that!" Will protested. Karunya insisted and asked Will to follow him. "Oh it's very simple. Just repeat after me..." And Will sang "Aati kya Khandala" with Karunya, much to the delight of the audience in the studio. Except that he couldn't get the 'kh' sound and insisted on singing "Kandala". One of the contestants asked Will how one got over one's inhibitions in public. "Just go to a large shopping mall and do this." And Will jumped on to the sofa and screamed like Tarzan in the jungle. All in all, Will was a scream on "Indian Idol". Shah Rukh parties with Will Smith 25th Feb 2006 17.20 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan threw a party for Hollywood actor Will Smith at his palatial sea-facing bungalow Mannat in Mumbai. Smith, who is presently on a tour in India, was supposed to visit the shooting sets of director Farhan Akhtar’s movie Don that stars Shah Rukh in the lead. However, Smith’s busy schedule did not permit him to see SRK shoot. In response, SRK threw a party for the ‘Men In Black’ actor at his bungalow on Thursday evening. Bollywood invitees to the party included Preity Zinta , Salman Khan , Karan Johar , Ashutosh Gowarikar , Farhan Akhtar , Farah Khan , Arjun Rampal , Fardeen Khan and Chunky Pandey . As learnt, the party was held at the sprawling lawns of Mannat with lounge and trance music in the background. A sumptuous meal was reportedly ordered from Taj Lands End. In between the party, Smith also left for Salman’s party and came back to Mannat a little later. The party continued till 4 am in the morning. At the party, SRK and Karan Johar had elaborate discussions with Smith who is also said to have expressed his desire to work with the two in future. Will Smith also played snooker with Chunky Pandey. And now on Saturday night, Will Smith will make an appearance at the Filmfare Awards. A very stylish on-stage introduction of the Hollywood star has been planned by choreographer Shiamak Davar.
